The Holy Trinity (KING Jesus)

1Sa 8:4 Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah,
1Sa 8:5 And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.
1Sa 8:6 But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD.
1Sa 8:7 And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

As student of Scripture. It has long been obvious to me that many people just don't "listen/pay attention" to what they read. I've been guilty of this myself. Notice a HUGE turning point in the history of Hebrew people. Samuel is leading Israel. His sons are judges. Samuel's sons start taking bribes and showing preferential treatment in their judgements. The people get angry and instead of insisting the sons follow God, the people decide they want to "throw the baby out with the bath water". You know how excuses work. They decide they want to be like all the other nations in the world that have already abandoned God by establishing their own kings......

Most people ignore these verses of Scriptures. Sure they may read it but they haven't really studied or meditated upon these words in the context of knowing God. If you want to know God, you must look for HIM.... in the Scriptures. Seeking God through seeking the Scriptures. This is the first principles in living a life pleasing to God. Only by knowing God can we truly know ourselves.

Pay attention. Study........Notice verse #7. Notice GOD's reply. Now notice the people's desire..... We want our own KING....

In review.... The Lord was already KING over them. Their RULER. Now.... they wanted their own kings.....

Fast forward...... in the Scriptures.... notice Jesus Christ as KING.....

Mat 21:5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ***, and a colt the foal of an ***.

This is prophecy fulfilled in The LORD.... Jesus Christ.

Isa 62:11 Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
Isa 62:12 And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.

However, this is not an appeal to the earthly city of Salem (later referenced as Jerusalem). It is an appeal to the Heavenly Jerusalem. The city that Abraham sought who's builder and maker was the Lord. (Abraham already had Salem.)

Gal 4:25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.
Gal 4:26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

Paul later references The ONLY Potentate. King of kings and Lord of lords.

1Ti 6:15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

Again. More Scripture.... Christ is referenced to yet descend from heaven and conquer the kings of the earth......

Rev 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Read as the enemies of God fall one after another.....

Rev 19:18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

Before Jerusalem (the city Abraham sought) actually descends from Heaven.

Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Rev 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

The LORD in Samuel 8:7 that was rejected by the people and the sons of Samuel both is none other than Jesus Christ. God manifest in flesh. THE LORD. OUR LORD!

Praise is due to our God King. Jesus Christ.

Addressing the OP, Good....... but was not the Lord Jesus the "Christ" ..... Born King? Matthew 2:1 "Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem," Matthew 2:2 "Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him."

Just imagine if there was no human kingly line for the Christ to come thru? again, God 100, man 0.

King of Judah. Jew....

The tribe of Judah was mixed with Canaanite mothers. Solomon was born of adultery. The seed of an unlawful union.

I hope you understand what I'm about to say...

Some times it is essential that we love instead of being right. Only God can do both but yet he chose to be made sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him alone.

first thanks for the reply, second, the "Christ came OUT of Judah, and not from the tribe of Judah". this is not for an argument,
seed of an unlawful union? "BUT WHAT UNION?" Third, is not being right, or striving to be right is it not LOVE? for did not the Lord Jesus say, Matthew 5:48 "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." and is not being Right or striving to be right is to be perfect, meaning to be like God our Father. if not then .... God can be wrong and love? no, nor should we. now, was not Abraham call to be perfect, and yet Love God? Genesis 17:1 "And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect." was Abraham without sin, but yet OBEYED GOD, in Love? was not the same with Job?
Job 1:1 "There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil." and is not "PERFECT" another word for Just, meaning declared righteous? and correct, it's not our righteousness but his. and in his righteousness we fear not. for 1 John 4:18 "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love." so is being right a fear? 101G say no.

Yes. Loving ends up requiring adherence to God in all things but we must recognize that if God only loved us IF....we are right.... Then He wouldn't love us for much of our lives.

Love leads to faithfulness.

Someone has said that "no one cares how much you know until they know how much you care".......

I don't know if I agree completely with this statement but certainly is true in many ways.

Also, love often requires being humbled. Our pride will not often let us love as completely as we should. Deep love comes out of humility. Jesus had every right to judge us in His first Advent. Yet, he didn't come to judge us. First, even though He was right ..... He didn't take judgement upon us. Just like when Cain murdered Abel. God drove him away from what Cain cared most about..... so he would might learn to humble himself. Humility also accepts judgement. Often when we fail..... we should humble ourselves and admit we are wrong but we don't often do this. It takes time.....

first thanks for the reply, Correct, God made man perfect, it was man, not God who disobeyed. and it is God Love that save us BECAUSE WE WERE IN ERROR. he Loved us in a position of being RIGHT and in being in ERROR, ..... LOVE overcome all.
Love leads to faithfulness.
correct, was not God faithful in redeeming and saving us? 1 Corinthians 10:13 "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." was not Eve tempted, and was in error, yet a way of salvation was made..... "The seed of the woman. and the Love of God in being FAITHFUL toward his children overcomes all.
Someone has said that "no one cares how much you know until they know how much you care".......
(smile), Like wise, Love is what Love does.... (y)

same here with you. 😇
Also, love often requires being humbled.
Correct, for this is required with our walk with God and each other. Micah 6:8 "He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?"

AGREED 100% see above. so as said, let's GROW UP, so 101G will grow, and humble himself by saying if 101G offend anyone, please forgive 101G.
Thanks, in Christ Jesus. be blessed. ..... and STAY IN LOVE.... 👨‍👨‍👦👨‍👨‍👧‍👧
