The Definition of Grace

The apostles taught that grace is the power of God. Where do you see "unmerited favor" written as the definition of grace?
'And the angel came in unto her, and said,
Hail, thou that art highly favoured,
the Lord is with thee:
blessed art thou among women.'

(Luke 1:28)

'To the praise of the glory of His grace,
wherein He hath made us accepted in the beloved.'

(Eph 1:6)

Hello @charismaticlady,

Forgive me, for this will not answer your question concerning grace, and it's meaning of 'unmerited favour' directly: but I do love these two verses, which are the only two in which the Greek word, 'charitoo' is used in Scripture. The one concerning the virgin Mary who was indeed much-graced, by bearing in her body the baby Jesus, God's only begotten Son: and once again in relation to the members of the Church which is the Body of Christ, the fulness of Him that filleth all in all of Ephesians, Colossians. & Philippians Acts 28:28..

This acceptation of gentiles who were far off, without Christ and without God in the world, who are now by faith,'accepted in the Beloved' (Eph.1), along with believing Jews, into the Body of Christ: a company equal and united in Christ Jesus because of the peace the Lord achieved at the cross, by abolishing in His flesh the enmity contained in ordinances (Eph.2:15); is again evidence of just how much we also have been much-graced, by the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Strongs No. G5487 -
χαριτόω - charitoō (khar-ee-to'-o)
From: - G5485; to grace, that is, endue with special honour
Translated: - make accepted, be highly favoured.
Verb:- To bestow grace upon
Occurrences:- 2 (above)

'And the angel said unto her,
Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour
(G5485 - charis - 'to grace)) with God.'
(Luke 1:30)

Praise His Holy Name!

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

would you agree Gods grace is undeserved ?
In simple terms, GRACE is why you weren't DESTROYED IMMEDIATELY when you first sinned and fell short of His Glory, and came under sentence of HELL.

Everything after that point is "Grace" extended - not only on those who would eventually be Born again, but on ALL HUMANS until their physical death. THEN "Grace ends", and the unsaved go to HELL. Those who have been born again are "IN CHRIST" and perfect before God in Him.

Not interested mam !
How about being born again of the Spirit? Do you really have no interest in being saved?

John 3:
5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which has been born of the flesh is flesh, and that which has been born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it is coming from and where it is going; so is everyone who has been born of the Spirit.”

Acts 1:8
8 but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you.
