There is no mention of Satan here or of him being equivalent to a man. We have one possible verse of Satan entering a man, as found with Judas. In that case it was probably that Judas would complete what already was in his heart. We have more of an improper alignment with Satan with Peter in his rejection of Jesus' explanation of what would happen in Jerusalem. In that case, Peter would be telling Jesus not to do what he was sent to do, not that Peter was even influenced by Satan.
It was closer but ambiguous in pointing out that the Pharisees were the offspring of Satan. They were influenced by Satan in their doctrines and practices, especially in opposing Jesus. This is not to reject that 2 Thes 2:3-4 could be a person possessed by Satan, but this is a rejection of the "man" being Satan.

You need to remember that the books of Daniel and Revelation are prophetic. I’m curious, Mike. How in the world do any of these verses give glory to Satan? He is the abomination of desolation (desolator!). He is coming to deceive, claiming he is God, and many will be deceived. This is the great apostasy of the latter days.

Duh. No one is Satan except where we see Satan's name (or function) appear. So we cannot convert Isaiah 14 into a message about anyone but the king of Babylon who would come after about 100 years later than Isaiah wrote. We have to stop Satan from claiming he is that exalted one. That assignment of Isaiah 14 to Satan just promotes a lie. The goal right now is to expose those type of lies. And we can consider that Satan's appropriation of that passage does not help us one way or another in understanding broader scripture. (Application to Nebuchadnezzar helps to see Isaiah's insight into the Babylonian captivity and to provide some comfort in light of that future event.) It is better to stop that lie via appropriation by Satan.

Anyhow, is there some passage you have in mind parallel to 2 Thes 2:3-4 to form your concept of Satan being represented here? I presume you have some build-up or collection of passages to form this concept.

Verse 9 above is when Satan will physically appear on earth as a man with his angels. This is the time of the Antichrist’s (Satan’s) coming. (the 6th trump)

The verse then picks up where Satan is standing in the holy place. Satan's object is to deceive all the world, and have the world take his mark in their minds (deception). God's Word tells us that Satan will come to earth and stand in that Holy place, before Christ will come and gather anyone back to Himself.

God's elect and chosen to salvation people have already been judged on the cross of Christ. They are "Not Guilty!" of sin against God.
Those God did not elect or chosen for salvation are "already condemned" and there is no way to change that condition. They will be born, have already been born, and will die without Christ because Jesus said they are "already condemned."

When God places judgment upon someone they are either already atoned or already condemned.
Man can do nothing to alter their eternal condition of already saved or already condemned.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:18.

There are only two items here: sin and righteousness.
Both have been judged.
We are not born into the world as sinners, become born-again, and then we are righteous.
We are born into the world either in sin or in righteousness. There is no crossing over from one to the other, at least this is from God's eternal perspective. He sees one or the other.
From our perspective we are born into the world as sinner but from God's perspective we are righteous.
We live in sin but at the appointed time become born-again and are made righteous, but God has always seen us as righteous.
Others are born into the world as sinners, never become born-again, and die as sinners.

There is no need for the angels that sinned to be interacting with mankind. This is why God locked them up in chains of darkness reserved unto judgment. When everything is said and done then comes the judgment and the carrying out of sentences/punishments.

It seems that according to Scriptures, satan is a spirit that works in the minds of men, specifically the children of disobedience to God/Christ.

This spirit professes to know God/Christ, and it quotes "some" of God's/Christ's Word to deceive the whole world, as it is written. It isn't flesh and blood, because we fight against this spirit, but we don't fight against flesh and blood.

God provides an armor for this battle.

Eph. 6: 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Since it is written that the Temple of God is in the mind of men, it seems this spirit of the devil is a wicked spirit that infects the mind of men as well. (High Places) And this spirit doesn't come from without, or outside of the mind, but within the mind of man. The lust of the flesh to do it's own will, comes from within, according to the Jesus of the Bible.

1 Cor. 3: 16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

I don't believe the Spirit of God dwells in my spleen, or liver. I think this means that the Spirit of God dwells in the minds of men as it dwelled in the Mind of Christ.

Phil. 2: 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

In the first ever recorded deception, God used a Parable which represented the spirit of satan, and evil spirit, as a talking snake. But if she wasn't in a battle with flesh and blood, it seems that this parable represents the battles that go on in our minds.

The Holy Spirit, is the Word of God, the evil spirit is the desires of the flesh. From the very beginning we are taught by God to rule over the evil spirit.

"If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him."

Both the evil spirit and the Holy Spirit was in Eve's mind. To do well, is to honor God's Word, the Holy spirit. To do evil, is to reject God's Word in favor of any other voice, the evil spirit.

Adam and Eve was given free will to choose which voice to listen to. So was Jesus. Adam and Eve chose to honor "another voice", Jesus chose to Honor God's Voice.

It's quite simple really.

2 Cor. 11: 3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

The Spirit of Christ, the Holy Spirit of Israel, inspired the Author of Ecc. 12 to have written for our admonition;

13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Jesus instructed us to "Live by" these Words.

Yes, our mind is full of other voices that we have let into it, like King Solomon did. And the Bible is full of examples that represent EVERY circumstance we can possible encounter in this life. All we need to do is believe in this Christ, AKA, "Have Faith" enough to "Yield ourselves" to God and our bodies as instruments of righteousness unto God, or as Paul also teaches;

Rom. 12: 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And be not conformed to (the other voices of) this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will "of God".

As it is written, "Today" if you hear "HIS VOICE", harden not your hearts.
