That's what Christian cults are for. The members are only bored until the FBI shows up and start setting off incendiary devices. The comet Hale-Bopp Livened things up. And the list goes on. You got the Crusades and Witch hunts. The twin towers.

I recall the difference between a cult and a religion is the amount of time it has taken to ferment after the first teachers passed away. 100 years tends to be the sweet spot.
