The angel of the Lord OT as we have seen in the Post here. now NT. Matthew 1:20 "But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost."

Matthew 1:24 "Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:"

yes, "THE" angel of the Lord. not a angel, but the angel of the Lord. and the angel is not God. one doesn't have to be a rocket scientist to understand this.

God is not the a messenger [angel] of anyone else.
God does not speak on behalf of anyone else.
It is absurd to think that the inspired authors chose to call a being “Messenger of God” when in reality they meant God.

Unless… of course, we are polytheistic people like the ancient Greeks, and we think that “god” is a category to which several personal beings belong…. a “nature” common to several personal beings. To ancient Greeks, there was no problem to call Hermes god even when he spoke on behalf of Zeus or other gods.

That we worship one God in trinity and the trinity in unity,​

neither blending their persons​

nor dividing their essence.​

For the person of the Father is a distinct person,​

the person of the Son is another,​

and that of the Holy Spirit still another.​

But the divinity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is one,​

their glory equal, their majesty coeternal.​

Even when God's essence is beyond our comprehension, He reveals Himself as a Person.
When I say "Person", I refer to a Being with his own Mind and Will.

again, not for argument, but discussion. is not Jesus the Lord a Messenger? meaning a forerunner? listen Hebrews 6:20 "Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec."
