In 1 Cor. 10, Paul is explaining about a Prophesy that was written years ago to warn us about a religious system we would encounter. Like so much of the Parables God had written, they "foreshadowed" events and problems we would encounter in the world God placed us in.
1 Cor. 10. 1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. 5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. 6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent "we should not" lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, "The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play".
Now there were other events Paul warned of, but this first one is the one I want to bring attention to. It's important to understand that God is directing Paul here to warn us of what will happen in our world. Not just speaking about a random Bible story. God knew we would encounter these things in "our life", and Paul wanted to make sure we are not ignorant of this important fact. Since they were written for "our examples", we should be aware that we will encounter the same things?
So where is it written, "the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play" in the Law and Prophets?
Ex. 32: 1 And when the people saw that Moses "delayed" to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man "that brought us up out of the land of Egypt", we wot not what is become of him.
So in Paul's Time didn't God send Jesus to save the Lost Sheep of Israel, and bring them out of spiritual Egypt, or "SIN" as Egypt symbolizes? In the same way that God sent Moses to bring His Children Israel out of the bondage of Sin (Egypt)
Matt. 15: 24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Ex. 3:10 Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel "out of Egypt".
And didn't God command through Moses that another Prophet, "Like unto Moses" shall come?
Duet. 18: 13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God. 14 For these nations, which thou shalt possess, "hearkened unto" observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do. 15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, "of thy brethren", like unto me; "unto him" ye shall hearken; This would be a prophesy of Jesus, Yes?
So let's continue with God's Warning through Paul concerning what caused "the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play."
2 And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me. 3 And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron. 4 And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a "molten calf": and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
So have you ever wondered why, of all things, the idol was fashioned after a "young bull (Male) calf"? Consider what is written.
Ex. 29: 36 And thou shalt offer every day a bullock (A young, unblemished male calf) for a sin offering for atonement: and thou shalt cleanse the altar, when thou hast made an atonement for it, and thou shalt anoint it, to sanctify it. 37 Seven days thou shalt make an atonement for the altar, and sanctify it; and it shall be an altar most holy: whatsoever toucheth the altar shall be holy.
So then, when Moses delayed his return from the Mountain of God, the people went to a Priest and asked him to make for them another god. And what was made, was an image of God after a likeness of the Sacrifice that God had provided them for atonement.
And what was the first thing they did after that?
5 And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and "Aaron made" proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to the LORD.
6 And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.
Now let's look at the Church of God, God's chosen People of Paul's Time. They observed the Passover, followed by the Feast of Unleavened bread and counted the days correctly to honor God in the observance of Pentecost. These are not manmade feasts, like Aaron made for the rebellious Israelites, but were actually "Feast's of the Lord". They honored God in His Sabbaths that God made for them. They "Yielded themselves" Servants to OBEY God, and Yielded their bodies as instruments of righteousness unto God, and became "Servants of God's righteousness". They Honored God in His Judgments concerning drinking Blood, and animals strangled, and eating what God had deemed was not food.
But what happened to this church that was told to "Wait" for the return of the Christ, and "Endure to the End" of their live in Faith? When HE delayed His coming, didn't Jesus warn us that deceivers would "Come in His Name" and deceive "many"? Isn't that what happened to Israel in the wilderness?
Didn't Paul teach that men would "Transform themselves into apostles of Christ"? Who did Paul say would inherit eternal life?
Rom. 2: 7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
Why do we need patience continuance? Because Paul believes in the Prophesy that foretells of the Christ delaying his Coming?
Did Jesus warn us that there will be "Many" who call Jesus Lord, Lord, but refuse to walk in the Good work's God before ordained that we should walk in them, but not to be therefore like unto them?
Look at the religious system of this world now, who call Jesus Lord, Lord. Ezekiel tells those who believe in God's Inspired words about this prophesy.
Ez. 20: 18 But I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols: 19 I am the LORD your God; walk in "my" statutes, and keep "my" judgments, and "do" them; 20 And hallow "my" sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God.
21 Notwithstanding the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither "kept my judgments" to "do" them, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; they polluted "my sabbaths": then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.
How is this world's religious system of today, who comes in Christ's Name, not described perfectly in this prophesy?
22. Nevertheless I withdrew mine hand, and wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted in the sight of the heathen, in whose sight I brought them forth. 23 I lifted up mine hand unto them also in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the heathen, and disperse them through the countries;
24 Because they had not executed "my judgment"s, but had despised "my statutes", and had polluted "my sabbaths", and their eyes "were after their fathers' idols".
25 Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not live;
Didn't modern religions who call Jesus Lord, Lord, not create images of God after their imagination of the likeness of the Sacrifice God provided for them for atonement? And don't they call this image their God? And this after many years of Jesus delaying His coming, because the early church would never engage in such wickedness? How is that any different than creating the image of the sacrifice, a young bullock?

And they have created their own high days in worship of this image, as Paul pints out, and the merchants of this earth are waxed rich promoting these popular man-made high days they created, "In Christ's Name", all around the world. While at the same time judging God's Feasts and Sabbaths and judgments as worthless Jewish Traditions.
The Exodus is a Prophesy written for "Our Admonition" "upon whom the ends of the world are come", about what we all will encounter. Otherwise, why would God have these things written for us? We who are believers should take heed, and "Come out of" this world's religious system, AKA Babylon, as the Lord's Christ teaches.
My hope is that you will consider what is actually written in Scriptures, while you seek the Kingdom of god and HIS Righteousness.
1 Cor. 10. 1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
