Gospel of Christ: Is It Law Or Did It End Law?

The Holy Spirit revealed Jesus' word, John 14:26.
The apostles taught Jesus' word is law, 1Corinthians 14:37,
- if any man think himself to be spiritual or a prophet let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord
The love of God is keeping His commandments, John 14:15,
- If you love Me, you will keep My commandments

The Spirit revealed the word.
The word is Christs gospel.
The gospel contains His commandments.
Those who love Christ will keep His commandments.
Those commandments are Christ's law, Galatians 6:2,
- bear ye one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ

for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death

In a nutshell; the "law of the Spirit of life" pertains to an honor system, whereas
the "law of sin and death" pertains to a legal system.

The covenant by which Moses' people associate with God penalizes non compliance
with retribution, e.g. Lev 26:3-38, Deut 27:15-26, and Deut 28:1-69.

Whereas the covenant by which Christ's people associate with God treats their non
compliance as family matters rather than criminal matters.

Christ is the end of the Law for those who believe.
And obey

Jesus teaching

Matthew 7:21

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Luke 6:46
Why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' but not do what I say?

Luke 11:28
Blessed are those who hear the word of God and obey it

John 8:31
If you hold to My teaching you are truly My disciples

John 15:14
You are My friends if you do what I command you

John 13:17
If you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

John 14:15
If you love Me you will keep My commandments

John the disciple whom Jesus loved teaching:

1 John 2

And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, 5 but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: 6 whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.

1 John 2
Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness. 10 Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling. 11 But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

1 John 2
If you know that he is righteous, you may be sure that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of him.

1 John 3
Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. 5 You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. 6 No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. 7 Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. 8 Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. 9 No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. 10 By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.

1 John 4
If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. 21 And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.

1 John 5
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. 4 For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith

Paul's teaching:

Romans 6:1

Shall we continue in sin that grace might abound ? May it NEVER be !

Galatians 5
The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

1 Corinthians 6
Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Colossians 3
Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. 7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8 But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

Ephesians 2
As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.

Titus 2:11-15
11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, 12 instructing us to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we would live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age; 13 looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works. 15 Say these things and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one despise you.

Peters Teaching

1 Peter 1

Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. 14 As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”

1 Peter 4
As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God. 3 For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do—living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry. 4 They are surprised that you do not join them in their reckless, wild living, and they heap abuse on you.

2 Peter 1:3-11
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.

10 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, 11 and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

With those who are in Christ, the law has been written on their hearts. They have the Holy Spirit in them as a guide. The letter of the Law caused judgmental attitudes and various debates how to stay in the Law -- but that also led Jews to think the Mosaic law could make them righteous. This was the aberrant view that developed after the return from the Babylon exile.
The basic law of Christ is to love God and love one's neighbor as himself. It is not as if a person becomes a Christian and says "now I can indulge in fleshly behavior.

Anyhow, if a Christians does go way off normal behavior, Paul tells Timothy to use the scripture to correct such people. It is available as a guide and a way of reproof.

hope this helps !!!
So simple indeed my friend . but do beware for those who often love
another version of what they so think is grace
sure dont seem to love the obey word at all . But always remember
Who we obey is whose we are my friend .
Abraham BELEIVED GOD . Abraham OBEYED HIM TOO .
True belief , true faith . but many no like the reminder of that O word at all
unless that O word allows them to obey the desires of their flesh . many seem to have no problem
WITH OBEYING the flesh at all . Thank GOD for HIS mercy and grace
who has given unto the sheep of CHRIST such a heart that loveth HIM as HE always desired to be loved .
But beware the flesh cause that monster sure is a contrary beast indeed .
But remember
OUR weapons are SPIRITUAL and MIGHTY
to the pulling down of strongholds and everything that do exalt itself against GOD
bringing them thoughts captive to the obediance , OBEDIANCE of CHRIST .
WE have ALL WE NEED IN CHRIST . now trench up and mount up cause these days are full of evil
my friend and many sure do love to call evil good and good evil , even using the very HOLY NAME
of JESUS to do such a wicked thing .

People actually do this.

You may not have met them, but this actually happens.

We must warn these people and not coddle them with a cheap false grace.
Many have fallen madly
many have fallen deeply
Many have fallen and fallen for a false grace they love to hear and to beleive .
And one thing i know about that grace
It sure wont expose what they love most , THEIR SIN .
Many do exactly this my friend .
Many run and have run to another jesus
and that there jesus sure seems to have no problem with their hearts greatest desire
WHICH IS THEIR SIN and the idea THEY HAVE SALVATION TOO .
many have NO LOVE FOR ALL MIGHTY GOD and HIS CHRIST
and at most love only a twisted version that overlooks their sin .
OH they might expose a sin or two
but their sin , TO THEM IS NOT SIN at all .
And now this has grown massively worse .
TILL NOW few to no sins are even warned against any more
and worse and worse more and more sins are now embraced . AND THEY HOLLER GRACE
and they holler love
and they run off those who do correct and do remind .
And the words of GOD all mighty they have cast off as hate speech . ITS GOING DOWN my friend .
many love another jesus , another god
and that god of theirs has given them the promise of salvation and the love of their sin too .
AND GUESS what , that god , that jesus , OH IT cannot save them . cause it aint GOD , IT AINT JESUS
its the devil in wool . sounds grave i know . BUT TRUE IT IS .

People actually do this.

You may not have met them, but this actually happens.

We must warn these people and not coddle them with a cheap false grace.
what does the HOLY GHOST shed upon the heart of the true believer .
THE LOVE OF GOD .
not of the world , not of sins , not of lies .
And this is the problem my friend . This is the dilema indeed .
Many cannot discern at all .
Many have not the knoweldge of GOD , the wisdom of GOD
for many have NOT CHRIST .
GOD , HIS DESIRE was not a covenant of REBELLION
HIS desire was not so that man could rebel against him and use HIS NAME to
only rebel more against him .
GOD desired for us to worship HIM
in SPIRIT and in TRUTH .
but many worship him in vain by the concepts and precepts of men gone wrong .
And beleive me when i say ITS IN VAIN .

I would not go around saying to any Christian that they now should do whatever they feel like doing. But, there are plenty of passages to remind Christians not to indulge in the flesh.
Mike have you noticed that a whole mess of men
are no longer even grave .
But suprise , suprise that was part of the requirements of being a leader in any church .
So i want us to ponder on WHY that has dissappeared
and THEN i want us all to ponder on and ask ourselves
HOW come so many churches seem to accepting more and more sin
calling good evil and evil good .
THEN go back to the first question and you will realize ,
CAUSE THE GRAVE MEN are gone . crowd pleasers took over
and leaven did too . correction is a dire must and the pattern the apostels set in the churches
MUST be kept . Just a friendly reminder to us all .
In fact its getting so bad now
As they hug on UNREPENTANT sinners
they also cast out anyone who does come to correct
as well as EVEN GODS own words that do expose sins . its getting bad mike .
WELL i am gonna do something . my love is for the peoples no matter how hated i am .
And our loyalty IS TO GOD . we owe HIM everything .

This might come as a major shock .
but i am not here to please anyone .
BUT i am here to help anyone . This generation got far too cuaght up
with trying to pander too , to please man .
THEY Forgot something . WE are to PLEASE GOD
FOR if i were to please man I WOULD NOT be the servant of CHRIST , wrote paul .
ENOUGH with the crowd pleasers . TIME we become those who actually DO HELP the people .

That is sort of a different topic. I cannot do much to stop some trends of corruption seen so often. My concern is that the truth of Christ remain available for those who will listen -- and maybe for future generations.

If you are under the law, those sins become transgressions and the person is accountable. But blessed is the one whose sin the Lord will not take into account. But of course no one should test the Lord by violating these.
You are talking about the Hebrew nation. They were the one's to whom the promise of salvation was promised. Jesus Christ fulfilled it and through His sacrifice the truth of Jeremiah 31:34 is come to pass. All Israel has been atoned, past, present, and future by the blood of the New Covenant of Jesus Christ.

23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. Galatians 3:22–24.

It is finished!

4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. Galatians 4:4–5.

It does not say anything about salvation given to the world. Nada.

But it does say Israel is that nation of people to whom they possess all promises of God:

4 Who are Israelites;
to whom pertaineth
the adoption,
and the glory,
and the covenants,
and the giving of the law,
and the service of God,
and the promises;
5 Whose are the fathers,
and of whom as concerning the flesh
Christ came,
who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen
Romans 9:4–5.

What this passage in Romans written to the Jewish Roman located church, are the totality of salvation. Notice that these terms for salvation are given to Israel.

Matthew 5:17 [ESV] "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." - said Jesus

Just a quick "point of information" to throw into this topic:
"abolish the Law" and "fulfill the Law" are Hebrew idioms (figures of speech like "raining cats and dogs" ... which has nothing to do with animals).
  • To "abolish the Law" means to interpret the Law (of Moses) incorrectly ... which is what some were accusing Jesus of doing.
  • To "fulfill the Law" means to interpret the Law (of Moses) correctly ... which is what Jesus claimed he was doing.
Think of all the times Jesus said "You have heard ..." followed by "but I say to you ...".

Matthew 5:21-22, 27-28 [ESV]
21 "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.'
22 But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, 'You fool!' will be liable to the hell of fire. ...
27 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery.'
28 But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

That was Jesus "pointing out how men had "abolished the Law" and then how Jesus was "fulfilling the Law".
So Jesus did not set aside the Law of Moses, Jesus utterly transformed it by "correctly interpreting it" ("fulfilling the Law" in Hebrew idioms).

[Just passing on a bit of first century trivia to use or ignore.]

You miss the subtle but substantial detail here. Jesus points to the time when it would be apparent that the Mosaic law had ended. This is apparent in Galatians 3. The Jews would recognize that end, so Jesus recharacterized their (future) perception to indicate why the Law came to an end. These are not isolated and distinct details -- but are tied together.
The Mosaic law had no relevance in a legal sense after Christ came except that the Jews were still facing judgment for claiming righteousness through the Law and for rejecting the Messiah who fulfilled OT prophecy.
By Jesus fulfilling the law, it was now through him that they needed to come for true righteousness.

Essentially it is the fulfillment of the Law that made any self-exercise of the Law invalid as a way of establishing righteousness with God. Likewise, Jesus' fulfillment of the Prophets meant that the prophecy was completed. Of course, the text of the prophets did not disappear but rather became testimony of Jesus. The Mosaic law remains as testimony of God's wisdom and aids believers in the law that is upon their hearts by way of the Spirit.

Here is just a personal thought..
and to me it makes sense...
no need to argue it, as its my own
perception arising in my soul.

What is Christianity? Simply, to follow Christ
to love Christ...

Christianity began when eden was created...
Christ was there with all His eden/hebrew souls.
After the fall, Pharisees, as always, created
an interjection, acting as a third party, to block
and alter how souls related to and understood God
and turn our relationship with Him into their million rituals
and 1000x guilt trips.

The message since the fall, even to Moses, was to return
to our land, and thats hopefully soon at rapture.

Christianity has always been the case, since
God created Eden, since Christianity is following Christ.
At the cross though was when Christ made it in any way possible
for us to go Home... and end our separation from Him
which had been the case for so long.

Christ returned to do the same for us He did for
Moses, implore us to return to Him and leave
the world (it as archetype of egypt) behind =
to put all our love and energy into Him...
not the superficial reality around us...
but, Moses was a foreshadowing, a prophetic
situation... of our Return... since the
Real return will be to Meet Christ on the clouds.

Law -

Think of it. The Law of the Spirit of Life is God's Law, always has been.
The Law of Sin and death - only at and since the fall had souls succumbed to that
other false 'god' which demands all our time. So for me,
those are and have been the only 2 laws.
EVERYTHING God does is to get us to Rapture.

The million minor laws of judaism are not related to Christianity
in a substantive way (not denying some minor things like not
eating pork, are good ideas) and these judaism laws never have been
part of Christianity since day one - since He Spoke His Creation Into Being...
those judaistic practices, talmud etc., are just false doctrines of pharisees
directed at hebrew=eden souls (all of us) in order to block our souls from God
and keep us separated from God. Bullied, separated and confused.

It was these same pharisees who caused Christ's murder...
They have always hated Him, even before the fall...

So, the war is longstanding and all our OT hebrew souls
indeed followed Christ. Who else would they follow?
