Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” with a dollop of "free will".

Totally contrary to scripture

For in this way God loved the world, so that he gave his one and only Son, in order that everyone who believes in him will not perish, but will have eternal life.

1 Peter 1:3–5

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 into an inheritance imperishable and undefiled and unfading, reserved in heaven for you 5 who are being protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time,

Rom 3:22–24

that is, the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. For there is no distinction, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by his grace, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus,

Gal 2:16

but knowing that a person is not justified by the works of the law, if not by faith in Jesus Christ, and we have believed in Christ Jesus so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no human being will be justified.

Now I make known to you, brothers, the gospel which I proclaimed to you, which you have also received, in which you also stand, by which you are also being saved, if you hold fast to the message I proclaimed to you, unless you believed to no purpose.

Eph 1:13–14

in whom also you, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, in whom also when you believed you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the down payment of our inheritance, until the redemption of the possession, to the praise of his glory.

2 Tim 3:15

and that from childhood you have known the holy writings that are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

But we believe we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus in the same way those also are.”

Gal 3:22

But the scripture imprisoned all under sin, in order that the promise could be given by faith in Jesus Christ to those who believe.

Acts 13:38–39

Acts 26:18

to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a share among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’

Romans 3:23–25

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified as a gift by his grace, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God made publicly available as the mercy seat through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness, because of the passing over of previously committed sins,

Rom 5:1

Therefore, because we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Its obvious you believe in Salvation by the will of man.

Yes, which Grace makes them alive, a new living spiritual entity. Thats what I have been saying. When Jesus said, the dead shall hear His voice and live Jn 5 25

25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. So at that point they are saved, and now can hear His voice and believe
Interesting that you as a hyper Calvinist and an Arminian @Dizerner are in agreement

Things that make you go hmmmmm and scratch you head in unbelief

All conversion actions, Faith, Repentance, Confessing Christ, are evidences of life and salvation. In Acts 2:38 they gave evidence of having been given a new heart and desired spiritual guidance, submitting to water baptism was an act of Christian obedience.
The verse

Acts 2:38 (LEB) — 38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized, each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Clearly the gift of the Holy Spirit is preceded by repentance and faith as well.

Baptism likewise preceded the gift of the Spirit in the verse.

Most who call themselves Christian believe that God offers salvation, and a man is saved only if he receives, or accepts, this offer. However, in stating that salvation is a gift which God gives to His people chosen before the world began, the Bible clearly teaches that salvation is not an offer, therefore, it does not require anything apart from grace for it to take effect in a man’s life.
IOW. There is no way to know if or if not you have been chosen.
There is no decision for a spiritually dead man to make, before he can be made alive. Paul did not decide to see the Light, He was shown the Light. Man does not make a decision to be saved, man is saved by the grace of God. A spiritually dead man can make no decision for life, which is why he must be made alive if he is to see life. Sorry but that is not the teaching of scripture at all

Rom 10:9–10that if you confess with your mouth “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses, resulting in salvation.

Rom 10:17Consequently, faith comes by hearing, and hearing through the word about Christ.

Eph 1:13–14in whom also you, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, in whom also when you believed you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the down payment of our inheritance, until the redemption of the possession, to the praise of his glory.

For I passed on to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that he was buried, and that he was raised up on the third day according to the scriptures,

Most who call themselves Christian believe that God offers salvation, and a man is saved only if he receives, or accepts, this offer. However,
Mark 4:13Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? How then will you understand any parable? 14The farmer sows the word. 15Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them. 16Others, like seed sown on rocky places, hear the word and at once receive it with joy. 17But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. 18Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; 19but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful. 20Others, like seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop—some thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times what was sown.”

The word “receive” in vs 16 is λαμβάνω: to receive or take. Lambada is a present tense, indicative, active voice verb.

The word in vs20 is παραδέχομαι: to accept, receive. Paradexomi is a Present tense, Indicative, Middle voice verb.

If Jesus says we receive and accept, I believe it. Contradict at your own risk!

Another problem for Calvinism

16Others, like seed sown on rocky places, hear the word and at once receive it with joy. 17But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away.

How is it one can believe and then fall away

Was God's precreational determination incapable of achieving what it determined?

Did the irresistible grace now become resistible?

Or did man have a native ability to believe?

Or did God take the faith away and just act contrary to his stated desire for man, reversing what he originally did being inconsistent?

Or did God just make a mistake on his precreational determination, and then have to make correction?

Not really, I dont think he understands Super Grace as I do, Im saying its Super because it makes alive from the dead Eph 2:5

5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened[made alive] us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved)

Christ the Son of God speaks the word, His voice and the Spirit quickens makes alive Jn 5 21

21 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.
Jn 6:63

63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

And all this is Super Grace. Im sure the poster doesnt mean that, he probably means that grace gives them a chance to be made alive or something of that nature.

But if he believes it as i do, thats good

Thats not regeneration being spoken of in Acts 2:38 Thats more like how Cornelius and others who feared God received the gift of the Holy Ghost while Peter preached the Gospel Acts 10:44

44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

Later Peter said they received the same Gift as they did Acts 11:17

Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

Peter is not referring to regeneration, but the day of Pentecost.

Dont expect me to explain these things to you very often, because you will deny them
