So any time someone in the Bible is worshipped it means they are bowing to God? Abraham bowed to people, Nathan bowed, many bowed. Bowing can be called worship, but it doesn't infer deity. Why did you think they were worshipping Jesus as God? Which verse says that and why do you reject Jesus' explicit teaching about how the true worshippers worship the Father in spirit and truth? Physical bowing isn't spirit and truth worship.
John 4
23But a time is coming and has now come
when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such as these to worship Him.
24God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”
You said: So any time someone in the Bible is worshipped it means they are bowing to God?
You love to twist the words that I have spoken, which is typical of those who reject Christ's Deity. I NEVER said the above. Those are your twisted words.
In Matthew 4:9 the devil said to Jesus: "All these things I will give You, if you fall down and worship me."
Jesus answered, "Go Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.' " Deut. 6:13
So Jesus acknowledged that ONLY GOD should be worshiped, just as I said. Yet He Himself received worship without rebuking those worshiping Him. In fact, at times He even encouraged people to worship Him. "If these remain silent, even the rocks will cry out (to worship Me)."
You asked: Why do you think they were worshiping Jesus as God?
Because that's the very definition of worship. We are commanded not to worship anything or anyone but God.
Yes, people bowed to other people in the Old Testament. Does that make it right? I don't think so. We are to bow in worship of God, not before man. That approaches or actually is idolatry.
If you think that I am rejecting John 4:23-24 (which I am NOT), then I could also say that you are rejecting what the Scripture teaches us in Acts 10:25-26. "When Peter entered, Cornelius met him and fell at his feet and worshiped him. But Peter raised him up, saying, 'Stand up; I too am just a man.' "
You are also rejecting what the angels told John when he "fell at his (the angel's) feet to worship him." The angel was displeased with that and said: "Do not do that; ... worship God." Revelation 19:10. The same thing happened again in Rev. 22:8-9.
Of course we worship in Spirit and truth. Does that mean that we don't also worship by bowing with our face to the ground before God? Obviously we do both.
Paul said, "For this reason I bow my knees before the Father." Ephesians 3:14
He also said, "Every knee shall bow ... and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord." Phil. 2:10-11
So going by your reasoning, obviously you also reject the teaching of these two verses.
