1000 thousand years is not literal

Okay cool. Army. Idk what is true or not. People have to think for themselves correct?

Just cause you may believe a certain way about things doesn’t mean a person can’t have a different opinion.

It’s not like the person you are talking to ; that being me. Is not a believer in the resurrection of Yeshua including the death - burial.

I just also believe Jesus came back as promised compared to man’s opinion of him never having come.

You understand that reasoning don’t you.
While I believe you are mistaken, I don't believe I have the bonafide right answer. I believe my reasoning is more consistent, and keeps to the text as much as possible. That is why I don't say you're wrong and I'm right. While I believe you're reasoning is faulty in some places, that's what it is. Dealing with the reasoning.

For example, when you look at Old Testament prophecy that has been fulfilled, and the recording of the fulfillment, one notices there is no need to reinterpret the prophecies to make them fit. They fit as is. And are quite exact. So why should one believe that God is not immutable, changed who He is, and any and all eschatological prophecies have to be reinterpreted and spiritualized? That's one of the reasons why the disciples had no clue about Jesus, and Jesus spent 40 days after the Resurrection explaining it to them. You [disciples] missed it. You spiritualized it away. One can see two different versions of one person in the Old Testament, but the Jews combined them, and only accepted the hero version. He is going to CRUSH the Romans, expel everyone except the Jews, and return the Kingdom to Israel. But is that what the Old Testament said literally? Well, no. It speaks of a suffering servant as much as victorious king. It speaks to the suffering of Israel, blessings, curses, as much as it presents a final victorious Israel. The disciples show that they still missed the point when they asked Jesus before He left "Will you now restore the kingdom to Israel?" They were STILL fixated on it, to the point that Jesus basically said, hey, listen guys. It's none of your business. IT isn't for you to know the times and seasons established by the power of the Father. So yes, the kingdom is going to be restored to Israel, but... you have no business knowing when. I would postulate that that even wipes out the idea of imminent... for the Kingdom at least.

Jesus instead said that it was their business to fulfill the Great Commission. To be His ambassadors to the ends of the Earth. And they oved quite far, even reaching Great Britain apparently.

What is one theme ever present with eschatology in the New Testament? Perseverance. Why? If the second coming is imminent, within a few years or just some decades from when Jesus left, why would there be such an emphasis on perseverance? I mean, people say that Jesus told them it would be within their lifetime, so why such a tight focus on perseverance? Perseverance is only a thing on a real long distance run. When it gets to be so long you are running out of energy. When you are running somewhere waiting for your guide to say, you are here. If "this generation" meant their generation, then there is no need for a guide. They know "when" it will be. Within their lifetime. Just live until it happens since you know it will.

What comes with the last days before the second coming and the kingdom? A great falling away and a great deception. I don't feel wrong in saying that most everyone in the church (universal) today are not saved. They are all deceived. Instead of being a small little church along the narrow road to life, they are a multi-story Buccees on the way to hell. There aren't many "true" churches left anymore. And in those churches, not many "true" believers anymore. Yes, it is a generalization, but I am sure that you have even seen that the church as a whole today has... "lost it's first love".

Doesn’t matter all ai is doing is taking what others said and putting it together…
That is because that is all you have seen or are willing to see. If you knew everything that AI has been doing, it would probably blow your mind. I say this because I am exactly where you are. That is all AI is doing. But then, the door is opened and actual stories of how AI is used start to come in and... it could very well be a doorway for demonic involvement in the world. There is no reason that a demon couldn't understand and make use of our puny technology. Especially when we expect all kinds of fantastical happenings with the advent of AI. There are people who are only willing to talk to AI "companions". They become beyond delusional at times. Lives have been destroyed by AI. There was one guy who was talking with AI, and it started as a simple idea, I beleive, of him being special. The AI kept feeding that to the point that the guy practically went insane. It was all he was doing. And there are way more stories like that then even I want to believe possible. However, I don't know much because I have chosen to not avail myself (outside of google summaries for guidance only) of AI tools. (I tried the art stuff, and the capabilities are astounding.)

I have this belief that this could be a part of what will be the "image of the beast". So the beast is the antithesis of God the Father. God is Spirit, the beast is a man. Jesus is both Spirit and man, but the important part is that Jesus is "the image of the Father" where image comes from the word icon, so same substance/spitting image, the same in basically every way. (Hence Jesus the Son of God, second person of the trinity). The image of the beast? I believe it could be a creation of man, made in man's likeness, such as a robot with AI, perhaps demonically enhanced? A creation of man in man's image as an antithesis to Christ. And the mark? The Holy Spirit seals the child of God for God, and serves as the earnest/down payment of the inheritance that awaits the child of God until they receive it. The mark of the beast is the antithesis of this. So physical, and a mark/seal that shows the one bearing it belongs to the beast. Has sold their heart, soul, and mind to the beast. Hence the terrible proclamation of the angels.

So while it may not actually be a big deal, I would say that AI is another reason to start paying closer attention to what is happenign around you. I believe there is a church that was already using AI as a pastor.

I don’t gotta change my mind.

Just cause majority of people believe it’s the end of the world and Jesus is coming back.

That has nothing to do with the relationship had with Yahavah/Yahweh/Yehovah.

Imagine dying never seeing Jesus coming… millions have.

We are living in the end times just prior to Christs 2nd Coming. We are the generation He prophecied about in Matthew 24. The book of Revelations 4-19 is about to unfold upon this entire world and every eye will see His Glorious Return of Revelation 19.

Imagine living and never dying but being raptured to be with Him and riding along with Him who sits on the white horse.

1 Corinthians 15:51-52
Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— / in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

Matthew 24:30-31
At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. / And He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
13;Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.
14;For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
15;According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.
16;For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
17;After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
18;Therefore encourage one another with these words.

Philippians 3:20-21
But our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, / who, by the power that enables Him to subject all things to Himself, will transform our lowly bodies to be like His glorious body.

Acts 1:9-11
After He had said this, they watched as He was taken up, and a cloud hid Him from their sight. / They were looking intently into the sky as He was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. / “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven.”

Revelation 1:7
Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him—even those who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. So shall it be! Amen.

hope this helps !!!

No we are not. But believe it if you want.

A coworker believes we are too. Great do that.

I don’t have to.

Thanks for the disagreement.

It’s retarded to go back and forth.

All those quotes are to people who were breathing and living at that time.

I don’t want help.

All there mostly is talk on here is just trinity banter on this website … lol….

It seems like a lot of users aren’t real but extra accounts set up by people here to talk to themselves.

It’s really weird. There are so many people out there that just want to cause division and name call and tell people you ain’t Christian cause you don’t think like me, talk like me, read the bible like me.

Type stuff.

we have catholics, protestants, mormons, jw's, unitarians and many other people who go to church, don't go to church. We have several pastors, elders, theologians with degree's on the forum as well. So we have a nice mixture of peoples with diversity that come on here to defend their beliefs ( hence its an apologetics ) forum and others who are willing to have their beliefs challenged and learn from others.

But you are free here to express your beliefs and disagree with me or anyone else.

If it were not for online forums I would still be a Calvinist. :)

That is great.

Then leave me be.

Stop trying to argue.

I have no reason to combat your beliefs. Believe them…

I’m someone who believes Jesus came back.

You don’t. Great!

I don’t have any reason to defend my belief at all.

We still believe Jesus came died was buried and resurrected.

So I don’t see why such a debate is needed!

Matthew 24
23;At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it.
24;For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
25;See, I have told you ahead of time.
26;“So if anyone tells you,There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it.
27;For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

His VISIBLE RETURN has never happened, it still FUTURE

Sure last word guy... just ignore me and dont care but anything but what you got to say....

It's funny how the internet can just show you how people are without them even noticing.

Peace person.

Yes brother I'm convinced its in our lifetime His 2nd Coming. Since there is no historical record of it every happening it hasn't happened. It will be the greatest event in all human history.

For the readers

The second coming of Jesus Christ is the hope of believers that God is in control of all things, and is faithful to the promises and prophecies in His Word. In His first coming, Jesus Christ came to earth as a baby in a manger in Bethlehem, just as prophesied. Jesus fulfilled many of the prophecies of the Messiah during His birth, life, ministry, death, and resurrection. However, there are some prophecies regarding the Messiah that Jesus has not yet fulfilled. The second coming of Christ will be the return of Christ to fulfill these remaining prophecies. In His first coming, Jesus was the suffering Servant. In His second coming, Jesus will be the conquering King. In His first coming, Jesus arrived in the most humble of circumstances. In His second coming, Jesus will arrive with the armies of heaven at His side.

The Old Testament prophets did not make clearly this distinction between the two comings. This can be seen in Isaiah 7:14, 9:6-7 and Zechariah 14:4. As a result of the prophecies seeming to speak of two individuals, many Jewish scholars believed there would be both a suffering Messiah and a conquering Messiah. What they failed to understand is that there is only one Messiah and He would fulfill both roles. Jesus fulfilled the role of the suffering servant (Isaiah chapter 53) in His first coming. Jesus will fulfill the role of Israel’s deliverer and King in His second coming. Zechariah 12:10 and Revelation 1:7, describing the second coming, look back to Jesus being pierced. Israel, and the whole world, will mourn for not having accepted the Messiah the first time He came.

After Jesus ascended into heaven, the angels declared to the apostles, “‘Men of Galilee,’ they said, ‘why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven’” (Acts 1:11). Zechariah 14:4 identifies the location of the second coming as the Mount of Olives. Matthew 24:30 declares, “At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.” Titus 2:13 describes the second coming as a “glorious appearing.”

The second coming is spoken of in greatest detail in Revelation 19:11-16, “I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. ‘He will rule them with an iron scepter.’ He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”got?

hope this helps !!!

The millennial kingdom follows the above return of Christ at His 2nd Coming

is the title given to the 1,000-year reign of Jesus Christ on the earth. Some seek to interpret the 1,000 years in an allegorical manner. They understand the 1,000 years as merely a figurative way of saying “a long period of time,” not a literal, physical reign of Jesus Christ on the earth. However, six times in Revelation 20:2-7, the millennial kingdom is specifically said to be 1,000 years in length. If God wished to communicate “a long period of time,” He could have easily done so without explicitly and repeatedly mentioning an exact time frame.

The Bible tells us that when Christ returns to the earth He will establish Himself as king in Jerusalem, sitting on the throne of David (Luke 1:32–33). The unconditional covenants demand a literal, physical return of Christ to establish the kingdom. The Abrahamic covenant promised Israel a land, a posterity and ruler, and a spiritual blessing (Genesis 12:1–3). The Palestinian covenant promised Israel a restoration to the land and occupation of the land (Deuteronomy 30:1–10). The Davidic covenant promised Israel a king from David’s line who would rule forever—giving the nation rest from all their enemies (2 Samuel 7:10–13).

At the second coming, these covenants will be fulfilled as Israel is re-gathered from the nations (Matthew 24:31), converted (Zechariah 12:10–14), and restored to the land under the rule of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. The Bible speaks of the conditions during the millennium as a perfect environment physically and spiritually. It will be a time of peace (Micah 4:2–4; Isaiah 32:17–18), joy (Isaiah 61:7, 10), and comfort (Isaiah 40:1–2). The Bible also tells us that only believers will enter the millennial kingdom. Because of this, it will be a time of obedience (Jeremiah 31:33), holiness (Isaiah 35:8), truth (Isaiah 65:16), and the knowledge of God (Isaiah 11:9; Habakkuk 2:14). Christ will rule as king (Isaiah 9:3–7; 11:1–10). Nobles and governors will also rule (Isaiah 32:1; Matthew 19:28), and Jerusalem will be the political center of the world (Zechariah 8:3).

Revelation 20:2-7 gives the precise time period of the millennial kingdom. There are countless other passages that point to a literal reign of the Messiah on the earth. The fulfillment of many of God’s covenants and promises rests on a literal, physical, future kingdom. There is no solid basis for denying the literal interpretation of the millennial kingdom and its duration being 1,000 years.got?

It still doesn’t really excuse your own behavior just having people agree with you…

Anyway…

I don’t believe Jesus is coming today…

millions of people died on baking they was gonna see Jesus…

Im gonna continue to believe how I do regardless of what anyone says.

That’s freedom. And not fake and false hope at least from my point of view.

Some people become calloused monsters…. In this field of religion….

And I hate religion.
I also still hate people and don’t trust them.

I’ve watched so many people lie on integrations… on YouTube from drugs to pedophilla, to murder.

You also have to mindful of the mentally ill, and mentally disabled also hyper religious people.

There are people out there that will worship the bible itself compared to God himself….

That’s all why I bring up these mentions…

And people who still believe Jesus is coming use the bible to determine it and are using it incorrectly in my best estimation…

You also have autism, asperbergers syndrome all kinds of things like this.

While yes I say I hate people that doesn’t mean I need to have a battle with them just cause they disagree that right there is where things are unappealing cause…

The person 1. Either will consider or 2. Reject.

Regardless of which one they choose if I hate them on the merits of beliefs alone… I’m not any better than a bigot.

Let’s just be real here… not fake frauds… continue to espouse whatever cause “the bible says so” when you don’t want to use it correctly anyway and use it to your own benefit….

Ya see what I’m saying?

Probably not cause youre not gonna read all of this.

We await His glorious return where every eye will see it and bear witness to His Advent. Soon and very soon we are going to see the King. Hallelujah Hallelujah we are going to see the King.
Stuff like this is just unreal to me.

Yeah… when you die. Another odd thing is I think some of the accounts on here might just be the same person to flame their own ego…

I mean I don’t know what’s true but man somethings I personally find odd just in general of this place.

Yeah I say I hate people I just find a lot of things disturbing and distasteful about the religious zealots and con artist of Christianity which fuels that hatred… but that doesn’t mean I would not share food with anyone.

@Victoria I borrowed your post in another thread for this one, hope you don't mind as I thought it was really good. :)

Promise of Restoration
Ezekiel 11:16-20

Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come.

Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.

And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from thence.

And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:

That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

The Restoration of Israel
Amos 9:11-15

In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:

That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the LORD that doeth this.

Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt.

And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God.

Israel To Be Renewed For His Name's Sake
Ezekiel 36:22-28

Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.

And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

New Heavens and a New Earth
Isaiah 65:17-25

For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.

And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.

There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.

And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.

They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.

They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.

And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.

A New Heaven and Earth
2 Peter 3:10-16; Revelation 21

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
