What should the Disciples have done with their faith during the storm?

Mark 4:

35 On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.” 36 Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. 37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. 38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”

39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. 40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”

Word of Faith would say the disciples should command everything with their authority and power.

Realistically, they should have simply prayed and expressed their trust in Christ to save them.

Close but there is something they could have done. What? It is about their faith in Christ but do what?

They should have trusted the Lord when He said, "Let us pass over unto the other side" Mk 4:35.

This instruction/command implies that they would have all made it to the other side despite any storm or opposition.

"Jesus said it, I believe it, that settles it" is a bumper sticker and T-shirt logo I've seen countless times.

To be physically saved from the storm.

They weren't playing Simon says where they constantly mimic whatever Jesus does, Jesus was just tired.
I've heard "Jesus was just tired" before, but that is a 1 Cor. 2:14 man's natural response. Put your mind in the Spirit and think like Jesus. 1 Cor. 2:16 from 9-16. You'll come up with the spiritual answer of be anxious for nothing like Jesus was doing as He was always teaching them.

For instance, when I first moved here and still do, I just go to bed when we have a Tornado warning and the sirens go off. In the morning there will be trees down all over my neighborhood, but not even a twig down on my property. One night when I had my mother here for the last year of her life, we had another tornado warning with sirens and instead of doing what I normally would do, I put my mother in the bathtub instead of leaving her in her bed. I stayed with her until the sirens stopped. That was the natural woman's thinking. The next morning I went out and found the largest tree on my property down and it laid across my van. That was God teaching me, just as Jesus was teaching his disciples. Since then I ALWAYS go to bed, back in my faith in Jesus, and thank Him for His lesson to be anxious for nothing, and keep walking and living in the Spirit. Now I live in the realm of miracles. I just overlook the mocking and people calling me "arrogant," and "holier than thou." I could never be sinless without Christ. It is because of His lessons that I always obey my conscience, and all my prayers are answered. 1 John 3:21-22.
