Trinitarian Spirituality

Trinitarian Spirituality is the spirituality available to those who have been born again by the Holy Spirit.

Jesus prayed in John 17 regarding those who would believe through the apostles "may they be one as we are."

The type of oneness described through the concept of trinity allows one to keep their essence when part of a whole.

The alternate form of spirituality models after modalism, which treats each person as part of the whole, but not as an actual person.

The alternate form of spirituality treats individuals as resources and as an organ in the same body.

This modalist spirituality is often called occultism. Many people in the new age movement who experience this same spirituality, are always complaining about "spiritual vampires" due to the nature of the relationship with the whole.

So people can talk about trinity and the historical aspects of it. However, trinity when expressed in the human parable is an expression of God's reality, and as opposed to an expression of the occult.

Because, how you apply it, is what matters.

If Jesus is truly God, then his prayer quoted above ("may they be one as we are one") means his followers are also God (millioninity? billioninity?).

Jesus is the head, we are the body. We participate in the divine nature. We participate in the circle dance of God. God remains God.

Perhaps a good question for when we take off corruption, and put on incorruption .. then we will see what we are. . . a good question indeed, if we remember any of this.

"Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, ..." Hebrews 2:14 This speaks of Jesus making a choice to become a human, which tells us at least two things: 1. He pre-existed and 2. He is God Humans don't get to make that choice, we didn't exist before conception. Only God could make such a choice.

"The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet." Romans 16:20
But God tells the serpent that the seed of the woman - Jesus- "He shall bruise your head". Genesis 3:15
So that means that Jesus IS the God of peace!

Jesus is God so I use the two interchangeably, but sometimes may be referring to another essence of the trinity and Jesus.

In terms of "choice" this is similar to my comment of the future into eternity, and that which we do not know.

We also do not know what happened in eternity's past prior to creation .. thus cannot make any commentary on it.
