@jeremiah1five , I have specifically tagged you here because you have certain definite ideas that you garnered in your scripture study that has given you a rather unique look at the Old Testament, and basic disregard to many points in the New.

Perhaps you have an explanation as to why the difference below.

BTW... I do not just randomly spend time trying to come up with ideas to post threads, or even to make replies. Most often, as in the case of this one an idea will come, and it will grow for awhile and wont let me alone until I get my fingers busy. IOW, I believe they are Holy Spirit inspired.

A question for all who read this.

What are your personal explanations of your belief of the New Heavens and the New Earth and the New Jerusalem and how they apply to to us who will be spending eternity, somewhere?

We seem to have a mini conflict between 2 prophets

John , in his Revelation wrote CHAPTER 21

1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

5 And He that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And He said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

6 And He said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

7He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.

10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
Enter now Isaiah 65 starting at verse 15
15 You will leave your name as a curse to My chosen ones, And the Lord God will put you to death. But My servants will be called by another name.

16 Because the one who is blessed on the earth Will be blessed by the God of truth; And the one who swears an oath on the earth
Will swear by the God of truth; Because the former troubles are forgotten, And because they are hidden from My sight!

New Heavens and a New Earth

17 “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former things will not be remembered or come to mind.

18 But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create; For behold, I create Jerusalem for rejoicing And her people for gladness.

19 I will also rejoice in Jerusalem and be glad in My people; And there will no longer be heard in her The voice of weeping and the sound of crying.

Certainly seems quite similar to Revelation 21. But his is where the similarities cease.

20 No longer will there be in it an infant who lives only a few days, Or an old person who does not live out his days; For the youth will die at the age of a hundred, And the one who does not reach the age of a hundred Will be thought accursed.

Here in New Heavens and New Earth we HAVE death talked about

21 They will build houses and inhabit them; They will also plant vineyards and eat their fruit.

22 They will not build and another inhabit, They will not plant and another eat; For as the lifetime of a tree, so will be the days of My people,
And My chosen ones will fully enjoy the work of their hands.

Here in New Heavens and New Earth we HAVE work talked about

23 They will not labor in vain, Or give birth to children for disaster; For they are the descendants of those blessed by the Lord, And their descendants with them.

Here in New Heavens and New Earth we HAVE pretty much an idyllic life talked about, just in this New Heaven and New Earth still will be childbirth, still will be death, still will be work but all in a perfect way.

24 It will also come to pass that before they call, I will answer; while they are still speaking, I will listen.

25 The wolf and the lamb will graze together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox; and dust will be the serpent’s food. They will do no evil or harm on all My holy mountain,” says the Lord.

Conclusion.

Either there are 2 New Heaven's and Earth being spoken of in the four corners of the inerrant Holy Scriptures, or one or the other of the prophets
is wrong... meaning ( well I wont dare to say it)

I always understood the New Heavens and New Earth and New Jerusalem refers to the renewed state of creation that will occur after Jesus' return and final judgment, as described in the Bible, particularly in Revelation 21. Signifying a perfect existence free from sin and suffering, where believers will dwell with God and Jesus, our Savior for all of eternity. That after Jesus' second coming, there will be a resurrection of the dead, and those who are resurrected will live eternally, free from death.

But in Isaiah they do die in the New Heavens, Earth, and Jerusalem.

Your opinions please.

Isaiah 65:15 is a precursor to the new heavens /earth which follows in the passage. There is no death in the new heavens/earth.

Prophecy does not always include the same timeframe and can go in and out years, decades, centuries, millenniums. We see this with Daniels 70 weeks with the large gap in time between the 69th and 70th weeks as just one example of many in prophecy.

Thank you,

I only started with Isaiah 65:15 to point out that there was disheaval in the pepole of that time and God's displeasure which leads to the New Heavens/Earth.

But to me the flow of the verses are so close to that in Rev that to see the word death enter the picture when obviously it is not talking of that in context up to that point.

17 “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former things will not be remembered or come to mind.

I more easily could understand that Isaiah was given the New Heavens inspiration to write about , and added to it based on his knowledge of the day of how bad the people were rather then inspiration . OR possible it was too soon for it to be revealed to him?
