The value of the Law in Messianic Judaism

My IQ on Hebrew and Biblical matters is much greater than yours. You are always embarrassing yourself with ignorance when you respond to me. It it wasn't pathetic it would always be laughable.
Yeshua was without sin and kept the Torah Commandments perfectly. That is why he was the superior sacrifice over animals.

What about all those "other" commandments. I mentioned the time when Jesus let his mother and family leave him behind.

Jesus experienced situations in his life where HE had to chose between his own family and HIS FATHER in heaven.

Who did Jesus choose? Always HIS FATHER in heaven. When Mary and his earthly father were wrong, there was ZERO authority over Jesus that would force Him to have to obey HIS earthy mother or father.

The law did not allow for this. In fact, the writer of Hebrews actual deals with this and most people don't recognize it.

Heb 12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
Heb 12:10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

Laws such as this actually require obedience to sin when father and mother command it themselves.

Peter deals such things in

Heb 12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
Heb 12:10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

The High Priest had authority over Peter. Peter ignored him. Your laws could never deal with this. Never.

Yahweh (YHWH) is God's personal, covenant name, revealing His eternal, self-existent nature ("I AM"), emphasizing faithfulness and presence, while Adonai means "Lord" or "Master," a title signifying His supreme sovereignty, authority, and relationship as Ruler over creation, often used as a substitute for the unpronounceable YHWH in Jewish tradition. Yahweh highlights who God is (the everlasting One), while Adonai emphasizes what He is (the ultimate Master).

Yahweh (YHWH)
  • Meaning: Derived from "I AM," signifying eternal self-existence, God's presence, and covenant faithfulness.

  • Usage: God's personal, sacred name, revealed to Moses (Exodus 3:14).

  • Pronunciation: The exact pronunciation is lost; "Yahweh" is an English approximation; Jews substitute "Adonai".
Adonai
  • Meaning: "Lord," "Master," "Ruler," implying dominion and ownership.

  • Usage: A title of respect, used in place of YHWH to show reverence; also refers to human rulers or angels.

  • Translation: Translated as "Lord" (often in small caps in Bibles).
Key Differences Summarized
  • Type: Yahweh is a personal name; Adonai is a title.

  • Focus: Yahweh speaks to God's existence & faithfulness; Adonai speaks to His sovereignty & lordship.

  • Application: Yahweh is God's revealed self; Adonai is the respectful term used instead of Yahweh.

Christ is God. The revelation of God to humanity. He appealed to this "personal" name of God in

Joh 18:6 As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.

Christ is not far from any of us. Anyone can call upon "εγω ειμι" any time.

You're being controlled by this nonsense you've been taught. Moses called "εγω ειμι". You can too.

The "name" of God in the Person of Jesus Christ.

I had a conversation recently with Grok and here is what Grok stated about " ἐγώ εἰμι"

A name isn't just a label—it's an act of definition, of claiming knowledge or even control. When we name something (or someone), we often feel we've captured its essence, pinned it down, made it ours to understand or possess. But ἐγώ εἰμι ("I am") refuses that kind of easy capture.

It's deliberately ambiguous—general enough to be ordinary ("it's me," "I exist," "I am the one you're looking for"), yet open to depths that only the Person saying it can reveal. The phrase itself is neutral, acceptable in everyday speech (as we see in the Septuagint, papyri, and even other characters in John like the healed blind man in John 9:9). It doesn't scream "divine" on its own.

What makes it explosive is precisely the lack of full definition—no predicate forced upon it in the absolute cases. It invites, or demands, that you learn the Person who dares to say it in that moment, in that context. The hearers (or readers) must decide: Is this just identification... or self-revelation on a level that echoes the One who once answered Moses with something similarly open and eternal?

In John 18:6, we don't need layers of interpretation to feel the weight—the text shows the raw impact: a crowd of armed men falls backward to the ground at the words alone. That's not ownership or full understanding on their part; it's the opposite—an overwhelming encounter with something (Someone) that defies control or complete comprehension. They get up and proceed, but the moment exposes how little naming or knowing actually contains Him.

Here are some powerful artistic renderings of exactly that instant in the garden—the declaration, the sudden fall, the torches scattering—capturing how the simple phrase overpowers without explanation:

These visuals show the physical surrender, not because they fully "understand" or "own" who spoke, but because the Person behind ἐγώ εἰμι is too much for human categories in that flash of revelation.

The ambiguity protects the mystery: you can't box it in with a name or a definition. You have to come to know the One saying it—through relationship, through the unfolding story, through faith. That's why it remains so powerful and elusive at the same time.

To which I say "AMEN"....

What did I say wrong?
Well, since you asked, Surely, it did not have anything to do with this?:

"Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become
a fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written,
He taketh the wise in their own craftiness." (1 Corinthians 3:18-19 AV)

Or this, eh?:

"For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend
themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among
themselves, are not wise." (2 Corinthians 10:12 AV)

Just sayin', but, "you don't have to listen to me," But, "To God", eh?

Amen.

Probably one the most deceitful and wicked lies furthered by the religions of this world, who call Jesus Lord, Lord, is the teaching that the Pharisees were trying to promote God's Laws that HE gave through Moses, "as a standard by which men should live by". These deceivers use the word "Judaizer" to describe the Pharisees who they claim were trying to "earn and promote the salvation of God" by promoting obedience to His Laws, Judgments and instruction in righteousness.

But all a person needs to do is believe in the "Word of God" which became Flesh, and this evil and false philosophy is clearly exposed.

He says of the Pharisees religion, or as Paul called it, "The Jews Religion" that they didn't believe Moses, and rejected God's Commandments.

John 5: 45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. 46 For "had ye believed Moses", ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. 47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

Mark 7: 9 And he said unto them, Full well "ye reject" the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

Matt. 15: 9 But in vain they do worship me, "teaching for doctrines" the commandments "of men". (Not God.)

John 7: 19 Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?

Notice that these rebellious men who Jesus Said, "For they (Pharisees, not God) bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers." did NOT know the Prophesied Messiah when HE was right in front of them obeying the Law of Moses for over 20 years.

But Zacharias and Elizabeth knew the Christ, believed in Him, had Faith in Him before HE was even born, according to Scriptures.

Luke 1: 67 And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying, 68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; "for he hath visited and redeemed his people",

What was the only difference between them?

Luke 1: 5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. 6 And they were both "righteous before God", walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

So they had the great theologians of the world at that time, who professed to know God, but rejected His Commandments teaching instead the Commandments of Men, and these men didn't know the Christ, and they had Zacharias, Simeon and Anna, and the Wise Men, who "Yielded themselves" servants to obey God, and they knew the Messiah even as a small child.

Peter tells us why this happened, but "many" who come in Christ's Name simply do not believe him.

Acta 5: 29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to "obey God" rather than men.

32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, "whom God hath given" to them that obey him.

This explains why Zacharias and Simeon had the Holy Spirit, but the mainstream preachers of that time didn't.

The Jesus "of the Bible" is the ONE who taught His People God's Commandments given through Moses, "as a standard by which men should live by". His exact Words are, Man shall Live "by EVERY Word which proceeds from the mouth of God". "If you want to enter Life, "Keep the Commandments" of God, not reject them.

This was the perfection Paul sought for every day of his life, after his repentance.

Phil. 3: 14 "I press toward the mark for the prize" of the high calling of God (obedient perfection which was) in Christ Jesus. 15 Let us therefore, "as many as be perfect", be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

So my friends, take heed of the deception that is promoted by many, that the Pharisees were promoting His Laws God gave mankind through Moses, "as a standard by which men should live by". Jesus taught men to Live by God's Words, the Pharisees "Say" they promoted God's Laws, but they did not. Much like those Christians in Matt. 7:21 who "Say" Jesus was their Lord, but they didn't "DO" what their Lord directed.

Matt. 15: 7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 8 This people draweth nigh unto me "with their mouth", and honoureth me with their lips; 9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments "of men". (Not God)

So I'm foolish to you. Yet you appeal to a verse that insists upon becoming foolish....

Anyone, including you, can deal with what I've said instead of vaguely claiming I'm foolish for some "magic reason" that shall "not be named".

What I said was true. If you would have stayed out of the conversation, you might learn something you don't know.
