The unending requirement of faith

Proof of this is found throughout the Scriptures. However, in my opinion there probably isn't a better example of this than Paul's argument found concerning the work of faith in his own life in "pleasing God" in Philippians chapter 3.

1. "being found IN HIM"....
Php 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

2. The clear desire of faith defined.... "That I may know Him".
Php 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;


3. The need for a life of sincere faith to "ATTAIN THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD"...
Php 3:11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

The same is expressed in Hebrews 11:13 "DIED IN FAITH"....

Heb 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises,

Clearly......Endless faith is a requirement to "ATTAIN THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD".....

Notice I didn't say anything about sin. Faith is required to trust God for the continuing forgiveness of sin... Faith men ask for forgiveness for their failures.

4. the trial of faith establishes the "sort of faith" we have. .

1Co 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
1Co 3:12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
1Co 3:13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

1Pe 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

Faith is not established upon works but there IS... the work of faith that establishes sort of trust that every individual has in this life.

Requirement ? That sounds like works, law

If Jesus meant "This is the work required by God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent", then faith is a work. It's not a work of the law, but it's a work. And that means salvation is due in payment for the work. Then grace is not grace.

Jesus said (and meant), "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent."

no scripture doesn't which is why I reject calvinism- its not in the bible- one must twist the scriptures, isolate them from the rest of the bible to buy what they are selling.
