The Poverty : Gospel

Behold

Active Member
Reader,

Lets say that a young mother ......is not born again, and they have 6 young children.
She is 25 yrs old, and her husband left her, after #6 was yet to be born.
Two of the Children are Twins., the boys...... and 4 are little girls.
'Mary" is dirt poor and on food stamps....and the children are dressed in rags, none of them are over 6, and often they are barefoot in the winter.

So, on one side of Mary, is a Christian family, who believes that if they are starving (and so are their 3 children), then that is a "Godly sign of Spirituality".
They teach and preach the "poverty gospel" as their faith, even tho the Bible teaches that "Poverty is the destruction of the poor".

On the other side of Mary, is a family of Believers, and they have been blessed abundantly beyond measure, and they give some of their money into the work of God, and He's keeps giving them more of His money, through them.
They have the favor of God on them, and Jesus said, I have come to "give you life, and that more abundantly".

So, Mary the young single mother, and her 6 children, need a new furnace., and its winter and they are very cold in their wood frame house that has no funace heat.

1.) So, she goes to the "poverty gospel Christians" and says...>"can you help us"?
And the Poverty Gospel Christians say...>"...oh...would that we could..... but we have nothing we can give you, and we too are freezing every winter, but God is well pleased.. and ... God bless.""""".

And Mary says......'"ummmm, ok, thanks".

2.) Then Mary goes to the other Christian neighbors, and says... "Can you help me and my children, we are so cold"'..
And the Christian man and wife invite her in for a moment, and they listen... and they say......" Mary, hon....you are coming here to stay with us, right now.....and your children also. And we'll put sleeping bags on the carpeted floors and find a way to keep us all warm, and tomorrow, we'll call the Furnace Specialist and have them come and repair... or put in a new furnace in for you, and we'll see about helping you pay off your mortgage also.. And we'll go shopping tomorrow for some socks and shoes for your kids"...Now Mary, we are here for you, we are your new family, because God loves you and so do we.".

Now reader.

Are you paying attention?

Then....You've already seen what i wanted you to see.

- God bless.

We need to look to God—the source of love! The Bible teaches us that God is not only the source of love, but God is love (see 1 John 4:16). As Christians, we are now able to sincerely love because we have firsthand experience of His gracious love for us (see Philippians 2:1-2).

Although we will never arrive at perfect love on this side of heaven, we can always grow in our capacity to love. And living from God’s love is possible when we learn to acknowledge and depend on Him in each moment.

Although we will never arrive at perfect love on this side of heaven, we can always grow in our capacity to love. And living from God’s love is possible when we learn to acknowledge and depend on Him in each moment.

“He loves me; he loves me not” a girl kept saying as she pulled the petals one by one from a flower. This is a poor way to determine whether one is or is not loved, and it is very hard on the flower. This childish game is indicative, however, of the value many have placed on love. I would like this post to look more deeply into the qualities of love and remind ourselves, “Love is also kind.”

We consider again the first four verses of I Corinthians 13 and particularly the first part of verse 4: “Charity suffereth long and is kind.” I like the beauty and grandeur of that. Then, too, I like the conjunction which Paul uses. “Charity suffereth long and is kind.” This “and” is significant in our understanding of the deeper implications of love. It is evident that it is possible to suffer, and to suffer long, but do it without kindness or love. Circumstances or duty alone may demand it.

Pride might be the governing influence, or the whip in the hand of the adversary might compel us to suffer long but could not compel us to suffer in love and kindness. So we observe that one quality of love is kindness, and kindness is so closely coupled with long-suffering that the two are inseparable. If you cannot be kind while you suffer, no matter how noble the suffering may appear, you do not love.

I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
—Jesus, John 15:5

Here me out, did you know you are filthy rich? This is so much more than religious rhetoric. It is our reality HERE and NOW as followers of Christ, and not simply something we will experience in heaven. Yes, the true fullness of our inheritance in Christ will be realized after Christ’s return and once sin and death have been abolished forever, but so much is already a reality.

The veil is torn and we are reconciled to Him. Consider the Apostle Paul. When you read his writings throughout the New Testament, the deep, descriptive language he uses repeatedly when describing the wealth that is ours in Christ is powerful! Only someone who had personally experienced this richness could write about it in such a commanding and clear manner!

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight… ~Ephesians 1:3-10

And living from God’s love is possible when we learn to acknowledge and depend on Him in each moment.

Let me show you God's love.

"GIVE".

See God is a "GIVER" and when you are like God, you wont be talking about it love in flowery language, , you'll be GIVING into someone's hurt and loss and lack.

That is what God did with Jesus.. .He Gave JESUS into tortured Humanity.... He Sent HOPE into a world that does not have any.

And when you want to be like God and Like Jesus, you'll GIVE and GIVE and GIVE some more vs, talking about "Love">

And until you are in that place, you're not.

I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Here me out, did you know you are filthy rich? This is so much more than religious rhetoric. It is our reality HERE and NOW as followers of Christ, and not simply something we will experience in heaven.

When you give you are the most like God.
When you GIVE, you are the most like Jesus, you'll ever be.

And Theology wont get you there.

Philippians 2:1-11

Therefore, if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:

6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!

9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

1 Corinthians 13

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Galatians 5:13-26

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 15 If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.

16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness (meekness, humility) and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

Zechariah 9:9

Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion! Shout in triumph, daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; He is righteous and endowed with salvation, Humble, and mounted on a donkey, Even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

Blessed are the meek, the gentle the humble in spirit. Be humble before God will exalt you. God opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you. The rewards of humility and the fear of the LORD are wealth and honor and life.

John 13:1-17- The humility of Jesus on display.

It was just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.2 The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus. 3 Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; 4 so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. 5 After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

6 He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?”

7 Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”8 “No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet. Jesus answered, “Unless I

wash you, you have no part with me.”9 “Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!”

10 Jesus answered, “Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you.” 11 For he knew who was going to betray him, and that was why he said not everyone was clean.

12 When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. 13 “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 16 Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

Conclusion :Jesus is God in the flesh. He is God living and walking among men. As Jesus said to see Him is to see the Father. Jesus said in John’s gospel that He only did what He saw His Father doing and only said what His Father told Him to say. The pharisees were so enraged over this because as a “man “He was making Himself equal to God and tried to kill Him for those words and making such outrageous claims. So, if you want to know what God is like then we need to look no further than Jesus’s life on this earth living before us as our Immanuel. When we see Jesus, we see the Father and the Holy Spirit. This in Theology is known as Perichoresis. The inter-dwelling of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Son is in the Father, the Father in the Son and the Holy Spirit in the Father/Son. So, we see not only are we to be humble it’s a command, God is humble as we see demonstrated in the life of Christ. Jesus Person is Divine as the 2nd Person of the Tri-Unity, the Trinity, the Godhead. Jesus was fully God while walking this earth as per Colossians 1:19 and Colossians 2:9. All the fulness of Deity dwells in Him. That means He lacked nothing in His Deity. So, Love and Humility are attributes of God. God would not ask us nothing that He doesn’t have in and of himself with His character in relationship with others. God created man in His image to be like Him. God is a relational Being and created us to be like Him in our relationships.

DO NOT judge and criticize and condemn others, so that you may not be judged and criticized and condemned yourselves.
2 For just as you judge and criticize and condemn others, you will be judged and criticized and condemned, and in accordance with the measure you [use to] deal out to others, it will be dealt out again to you.
3 Why do you stare from without at the very small particle that is in your brother’s eye but do not become aware of and consider the beam of timber that is in your own eye?
4 Or how can you say to your brother, Let me get the tiny particle out of your eye, when there is the beam of timber in your own eye?
5 You hypocrite, first get the beam of timber out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the tiny particle out of your brother’s eye.
Mt 7:1–5.

"He that is spiritual, judges all ......things".

"You shall know THEM, by their deeds, acts, behavior, words.... (fruit)".

DO NOT judge

IN a Satanic world of darkness and sin, filled with unbelievers, fake Christians, and deceived Christians..... we are to understand that to not become one of those is to judge.

One of the ways that God will show a student of the bible what is true, is to teach them how to discern what isn't true.

And the reason that this type of judgment (discernment) is so critical to learn how to possess and use, is because the Devil's lies are often mixed with truth, and that is why they are so deceptive.

Learning to discern (judge), truth from untruth, is a key principle that has to be learned, or the believer will become the victim of "doctrines of devils".

We have the Holy Spirit and he leads us in all truth. We are in Christ and he is the truth. And yet Christians have been, and are, capable of being deceived.

Nevertheless, we are given this assurance: God will protect and preserve His people. Like Simon Peter, they will be shielded by the prayers of Christ and the power of God.

31 Simon, Simon (Peter), listen! Satan has asked excessively that [all of] you be given up to him [out of the power and keeping of God], that he might sift [all of] you like grain,
32 But I have prayed especially for you [Peter], that your [own] faith may not fail; and when you yourself have turned again, strengthen and establish your brethren.
Luke 22:31–32

This is accomplished through the activity of faith.

Who are being guarded (garrisoned) by God’s power through [your] faith [till you fully inherit that final] salvation that is ready to be revealed [for you] in the last time.
1 Peter 1:5

But how can we guard ourselves against spiritual deception? By developing sensitivity, we become aware of Satan’s strategies in our lives We all need learn what they are.

To keep Satan from getting the advantage over us; for we are not ignorant of his wiles and intentions.
2 Corinthians 2:11.

By developing self-knowledge, we recognize how weak we are. Since nothing good dwells in our flesh we need constantly to depend on the Lord.

18 For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I can will what is right, but I cannot perform it. [I have the intention and urge to do what is right, but no power to carry it out.]
Romans 7:18

By developing an appetite for God’s Word, we are “trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil” and we grow in discernment.

But solid food is for full-grown men, for those whose senses and mental faculties are trained by practice to discriminate and distinguish between what is morally good and noble and what is evil and contrary either to divine or human law.

Obey Hebrews 13:9
You mean someone that is being deceived by Satan and trying to deceive others? If that's the case then you're taking Hebrews 13:9 out of context. You might want to put "Taking scripture out of context" right underneath A Forum.

Do not be carried about by different and varied and alien teachings; for it is good for the heart to be established and ennobled and strengthened by means of grace (God’s favor and spiritual blessing) and not [to be devoted to] foods [rules of diet and ritualistic meals], which bring no [spiritual] benefit or profit to those who observe them.
Hebrews 13:9

Hebrews 13:9 can apply to any teaching at odds with what we find in the biblical Christ; however, this verse indicates that the specific teaching in mind here has to do with eating and drinking. The author tells us that our hearts are strengthened by grace, not by foods, which implies that at least some people in his original audience believed that they could find spiritual fortification in what they ate and drank.

"Satan comes as a angel of LIGHT"... and "HIS ministers as ministers of RIGHTEOUSNESS">.

What do they teach?

A.) "A form of godliness but denying the power (thereof) of it"...... in other words, they replace God's Righteousness and How He gives it, with some theology that is a "doctrine of devils".

= Hebrews 13:9 says they teach .... = ''doctrines of DEVILS"..

What is that?

Man Made THEOLOGY that "sounds true" but isn't.

And example?

Here are 2.

"Catholic Priest's can't get married".

Calvinism limits the Cross.

"Water baptism is required for salvation"

Have you ever heard of log in eye disease? You seem to be completely Ignoring the context of Hebrews 13:9 to try to prove your point. That's A Red Flag of A False Teacher. If you cannot be trusted to interpret one scripture correctly how can we trust anything else you post?

just like you want to take one sentence out of my post is the same as taking it out of context. one sentence doesn't convey what's being said in the entirety of the post. One sentence doesn't make the point clear of what the coach is saying.

I think the term is cherry picking.

Have you ever heard of log in eye disease?

@Bronson....What you said is not very smart.
So, i'll leave that with you,, as there is nothing worse then someone who is trying to sound clever, and isn't.
Ok?
So, leave that trial and error, in the box.
You're capacity is not built for that speed.

Now, Have you ever heard of Paul's Doctrine?

Pauline Theology?

Its like this..

Once you learn what that is....and forget Googling it.......as Wikipedia can't help you there...

Once you learn that Paul is the Teacher, in the """"time of the Gentiles""""..... and His Epistles are the Doctrine for the Bride of Christ, prior to the Trib............then once you learn some of this, then what i post will become quite a revelation for you.

I'll show you where to go, as of now.
Go here and stay a while.

Romans 3:21-28

2 Corinthians 5:19

That's what's not going to happen. You don't have and never will have any revelation for me. You may have the worst case of log in eye disease known to man. That's why people come to these forms to try to lay their Boogie Woogie on people.

Also If you're going to quote a scripture why not just quote it instead of just giving me the address? You already proven that you take the scripture out of context. Is that the reason you only give the address? Or are you just too lazy? I noticed your real big on telling people what they should do. Cult leaders do that a lot.

Here I'll put the scriptures In print for you.

21 But now the righteousness of God has been revealed independently and altogether apart from the Law, although actually it is attested by the Law and the Prophets,
22 Namely, the righteousness of God which comes by believing with personal trust and confident reliance on Jesus Christ (the Messiah). [And it is meant] for all who believe. For there is no distinction,
23 Since all have sinned and are falling short of the honor and glory which God bestows and receives.
24 [All] are justified and made upright and in right standing with God, freely and gratuitously by His grace (His unmerited favor and mercy), through the redemption which is [provided] in Christ Jesus,
25 Whom God put forward [before the eyes of all] as a mercy seat and propitiation by His blood [the cleansing and life-giving sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation, to be received] through faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in His divine forbearance He had passed over and ignored former sins without punishment.
26 It was to demonstrate and prove at the present time (in the now season) that He Himself is righteous and that He justifies and accepts as righteous him who has [true] faith in Jesus.
27 Then what becomes of [our] pride and [our] boasting? It is excluded (banished, ruled out entirely). On what principle? [On the principle] of doing good deeds? No, but on the principle of faith.
28 For we hold that a man is justified and made upright by faith independent of and distinctly apart from good deeds (works of the Law). [The observance of the Law has nothing to do with justification.]
Romans 3:21–28

It was God [personally present] in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself, not counting up and holding against [men] their trespasses [but cancelling them], and committing to us the message of reconciliation (of the restoration to favor). 2 Co 5:19

For God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him. John 3:17

Blessed and happy and to be envied is the person of whose sin the Lord will take no account nor reckon it against him.
Romans 4:8

Do not be carried about by different and varied and alien teachings; for it is good for the heart to be established and ennobled and strengthened by means of grace (God’s favor and spiritual blessing) and not [to be devoted to] foods [rules of diet and ritualistic meals], which bring no [spiritual] benefit or profit to those who observe them. Hebrews 13:9

So,

one of the things this Thread is pointing out, is that there is a certain type of false/pretense spirituality, that believes that living in some sort of self created slow torture, is "proof of deeper spirituality".
Some Cults, actually encourage all sorts of self inflicted physical damage to yourself, Ether physically or mentally, as they teach that this is going to elevate your spirituality.

The cult of Mary is especially noted for encouraging its Nuns and Priests to find various ways to damage themselves as their idea of a deeper fellowship with God.
This is much more prominent in the Latin America countries and also in Europe.
This cult, also require some type of penance, and its the same idea, tho on a lesser scale.

Avoid all this.

That's why people come to these forms to try to lay their Boogie Woogie on people.

Again what you posted, has no relationship to reality. @Bronson

So, let me show you what happens if you don't obey Hebrews 13:9.

This verse teaches that you must establish your heart with "Grace".

If you own a Bible, read the verse..

Now, What is that = Grace?
That is the understanding that Jesus is Salvation, Jesus is Eternal Life.. Jesus is The Resurrection, Jesus is Sanctification, and Jesus is Redemption.... and all that has no relationship to water baptism, doing good works, or confessing sin or trying to keep law and commandments.

And when a believer does not get their heart of REAL FAITH, established in God's Grace, as instructed by Hebrews 13:9.... then a "doctrine of devils"... will get your mind., and you'll end up trapped inside a cult theology as your belief system.
