Genesis 16:7–13 (UASV) — 7 Now the angel of Jehovah found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, by the spring on the way to Shur. 8 He said, “Hagar, Sarai’s maid, where have you come from and where are you going?” And she said, “I am fleeing from the face of my mistress Sarai.” 9 And the angel of Jehovah said to her, “Return to your mistress, and submit yourself under her hands.” 10 And the angel of Jehovah said to her, I will greatly multiply your offspring so that they cannot be numbered for multitude.” 11 And the angel of Jehovah said to her, “Look, you are with child and shall bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael, because Jehovah has heard your affliction. 12 And he shall be a wild donkey of a man, his hand will be against every man and every man’s hand against him, and he shall dwell over against all his kinsmen.” 13 Then she called on the name of Jehovah, who spoke to her, “You are a God who sees,” for she said, “Have I even here looked upon the one who sees me?”
