The word gospel means “good news,” so the gospel of Christ is the good news of His coming to provide forgiveness of sins for all who will believe (Colossians 1:14; Romans 10:9).
The Bible teaches that Jesus died for all, that all are invited to receive Christ and be saved, and that those who are lost are responsible for that. For humans to be held responsible for the rejection of Christ, they must have the freedom to choose or reject his provision for them. Therefore, humanity has freedom of choice, free will.
No, it does not mean humanity has freedom of choice. That is an illusion. If someone is saved, it is because God chose them. It appears to be choice because we are human, and we can only see things temporally, and through our own eyes. However, if you go to the position of God, everything changes. So no, there is no freedom of choice when it comes to God. God told us this through the prophet when He told us that NONE are righteous, NONE do good, NONE seek after God. Why? They have each gone their own way. So our "freedom of choice", every human's "freedom of choice" is spent not being righteous, not doing good, and not seeking after God, because we choose, every time, our own way.
The thing to note is that beyond our own face, our own body, we don't have a clue. Could everyone be saved, sure. Will it happen? No. Why? God told us so. It isn't because we choose not to follow. God specifically tells us that not all will be saved, as Jesus does.
