SOTERIOLOGY 101, Provisionism [ Calvinists of course can be excluded.]

Yeah dead. When you go to see a corpse lying dead, its seperated from this physical life, and so likewise man is dead seperated from spiritual life.
And made alive by faith

John 3:15 (LEB) — 15 so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life.”

John 3:16 (LEB) — 16 For in this way God loved the world, so that he gave his one and only Son, in order that everyone who believes in him will not perish, but will have eternal life.

Galatians 2:20 (LEB) — 20 and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me, and that life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Romans 1:17 (LEB) — 17 For the righteousness of God is revealed in it from faith to faith, just as it is written, “But the one who is righteous by faith will live.”

2 Corinthians 5:7 (LEB) — 7 for we live by faith, not by sight—

Hebrews 10:38 (LEB) — 38 But my righteous one will live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul is not well pleased with him.”

And made alive by faith
Absolutely false. The elect are made alive when dead by Grace Eph 2:5

5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved)

The quickening, being made alive is Grace, then a person can and will believe through Grace, on account of quickening grace.

Do you know what quickening is ? Something dead in order to live needs to be made alive.

Faith establishes that it is according to grace

Romans 4:16–25 (LEB) — 16 Because of this, it is by faith, in order that it may be according to grace, so that the promise may be secure to all the descendants, not only to those of the law, but also to those of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all 17 (just as it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations”) before God, in whom he believed, the one who makes the dead alive and who calls the things that are not as though they are, 18 who against hope believed in hope, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was said, “so will your descendants be.” 19 And not being weak in faith, he considered his own body as good as dead, because he was approximately a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. 20 And he did not waver in unbelief at the promise of God, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God 21 and being fully convinced that what he had promised, he was also able to do. 22 Therefore it was credited to him for righteousness. 23 But it was not written for the sake of him alone that it was credited to him, 24 but also for the sake of us to whom it is going to be credited, to those who believe in the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead, 25 who was handed over on account of our trespasses, and was raised up in the interest of our justification.

before man can have faith, he must be made alive, otherwise he is dead in sin and unbelief. By nature we are dead in the realm of sin Col 2:13

13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

That word in is the prep en meaning:

en; a primary preposition denoting (fixed) position (in place, time or state

We are dead in the state of sin, under its power and control like when Paul wrote Rom 3:9

What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;

Impossible

While in nature men are locked in unbelief, that's part of spiritual death Rom 11:32

32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

That word concluded συγκλείω:
conclude, inclose, shut up
. to shup up on all sides, shut up completely

The only thing that can help is mercy shown in regeneration Titus 3:5

So if a person believes, obeys the Gospel its evidence of having been regenerated, given Spiritual life and liberated from unbelief.
