Refuting effectually caused faith

@TomL

All men here are made believers. So are you a universalist now ? Drawing means being persuaded to believe. This also shows everyone Christ died for shall be made a believer.
Only if you read your theology into it.

Christ died for all

1 John 2:2 (NASB95) — 2 and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.

Believing in Christ is by the power and operation of God Eph 1:19-20

19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

Col 2:12

12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

So when Paul tes

Acts 19:26 (LEB) — 26 and you see and hear that not only in Ephesus but in almost all of Asia this man Paul has persuaded and turned away a large crowd by saying that the gods made by hands are not gods.

Acts 17:1–4 (LEB) — 1 Now after they traveled through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was a synagogue of the Jews. 2 And as was his custom, Paul went in to them and on three Sabbath days he discussed with them from the scriptures, 3 explaining and demonstrating that it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead, and saying, “This Jesus whom I am proclaiming to you is the Christ.” 4 And some of them were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, and also a large number of God-fearing Greeks and not a few of the prominent women.

Drawing is persuading, which is Faith. You need to exegete your proof verses

Faith is also effectually caused/authored because Christ is the author of it in His Seed, /Abrahams Seed Heb 12:2

2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The word author here is the greek word archégos:

Leader, Author, Pioneer, Prince
Meaning: originator, author, founder, prince, leader.

The word is compound and one of its parts archē means:

  1. beginning, origin
  2. the person or thing that commences, the first person or thing in a series, the leader
  3. that by which anything begins to be, the origin, the active cause

Jesus is the active cause of our faith

He produces , causes the believing seed of Abraham, His Believing seed as God had promised Abraham to make him a Father of many nations.

So all believers are Abrahams believing seed of Faith,

Gal 3:7-8

Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.

And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

See being made a person of Faith is the blessing of Abraham which God promised, just as God promised Abraham Isaac

The natural ability to believe

John 12:40 (NASB95) — 40 “HE HAS BLINDED THEIR EYES AND HE HARDENED THEIR HEART, SO THAT THEY WOULD NOT SEE WITH THEIR EYES AND PERCEIVE WITH THEIR HEART, AND BE CONVERTED AND I HEAL THEM.”

Here God had to prevent it to effect the crucifixion

Luke 8:13 (NASB95) — 13 “Those on the rocky soil are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no firm root; they believe for a while, and in time of temptation fall away.

and unless you want to argue God's causing to believe is not lasting these believed on their own
