False Doctrine

The lure of false doctrine is that it presents itself as the truth. False doctrine pretends to be corrective measure to established doctrine. It is peddled by those who are certain they have discovered some new revelation of truth or a better interpretation of old, established truth. Either way, they are convinced they are right and everyone else is wrong. Don't buy into it.

It's Satan’s oldest trick. He appeals to our self-conceit and leads us into self-deceit. When he first approached Eve, Satan questioned the integrity of God’s command and appealed to her selfish desire to be like God—the same desire that led to his own fall. And there is something selfish enough in all of us to want to believe that we can know what no one else knows. That special, personal knowledge like whats found in Gnosticism.

Gnosticism is literally, “the cult based on special, personal knowledge.” The apostle Paul specifically warned against this kind of division, which has spawned several very large Christian-like religions, dozens of very closed denominations, and hundreds or thousands of small sects. Each of these groups claims some “special personal knowledge,” which they have, and you do not, which makes them more acceptable to God than you, and which keeps them separate from you in attempt to separate the body of Christ.

Once the false teacher falls into the illusion that he or she alone is God’s messenger and has a corner on His truth, spiritual deception is inevitable. Once spiritual deception sets in, it leads to spiritual darkness. It is not long before the deceived cult leader begins to espouse heretical doctrine.

I would agree for the most part. I would add to your post couple of things concerning the first ever recorded deception, written for our admonition, if you don't mind.

1st, God gave Adam and Eve HIS Words, and then placed them in a world in which "another voice' existed. This voice "professed to God", and even quoted "some" of God's Word in it's effort to deceive them. It went to Eve first, the weaker vessel, and through her, corrupted them both.

I believe the whole world has been deceived by this "other voice" that profess to know God. And like Adam and Eve, we have all fallen for this voice. The purpose of which, in my understanding, to show the importance of trusting God's Inspired Word "for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works".

Not just "Some" of God's Word, but as the Christ "of the Bible" teaches, "Every Word which proceeds from the mouth of God".

We all have access to God's Word now, as prophesied. Most people have the Oracles of God in their own homes. Certainly this is true in the country God placed you and I in, assuming you live in America, Europe, Mexico, Asia or any of the developed nations of this world. And as you have pointed out, we are surrounded by "many" religious voices, who "come in Christ's Name", who call Jesus Lord, Lord, and "profess to know God, and they too, are constantly quoting "some" of God's Word, but they have rejected many of God's judgments, commandments and instruction in righteousness, and have gone about establishing their own righteousness, their own judgments, high days and commandments. Or as Jesus said, "Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition".

This defines the entire religious system of this world, with the images of God in the likeness of man, their man-made shrines of worship and their religious marketing strategies. I believe Jesus instructed His people to "come out of her" entirely, like HE instructed Abraham.

Yet Jesus words are the very words of God, since He is God.

His words are eternal.

Mark 13:31
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.

Psalms 119:160
All your words
are true;
all your righteous laws are eternal.

Isaiah 40:8
The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God stands forever.

Acts 13:44-50
And the next Sabbath nearly the whole city assembled to hear the word of God. 45 But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy, and began contradicting the things spoken by Paul, and were blaspheming. 46 And Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and said, "It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first; since you repudiate it, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we are turning to the Gentiles. 47 "For thus the Lord has commanded us,

'I have placed You as a light for the Gentiles,
That You should bring salvation to the end of the earth.'"

48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord; and as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed. 49 And the word of the Lord was being spread through the whole region.

The word of the Lord(Jesus) is the word of God. More proof Jesus is God in Acts.
The word of the Lord, the word of Christ is the same as the word of God. The word of the Lord(Jesus) was spread throughout the book of Acts as the very word of God and they are used interchangeably in Acts. Below we see the word of the Lord = Jesus words are the very words of God. This can be said of no mere man but only a man who is also God as Scripture declares about Christ.

Colossians 3:16
Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you,

Romans 10:17
Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.

2 Thessalonians 3:1-3

Finally, brothers, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you. 2 And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith. 3 But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.

1 Peter 1:23-25
For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. 24 For,

"All men are like grass,
and all their glory is like the flowers of the field;
the grass withers and the flowers fall,
25 but the word of the Lord stands forever."

And this is the word that was preached to you.

1-Can we say let the word of Paul richly dwell in you
2-Can we say let the word of Peter richly dwell in you
3-Can we say let the word of David richly dwell in you
4-Can we say let the word of Moses richly dwell in you

the answer to the above is a resounding NO you cannot say it.

But you can say let the word of God, the word of the Lord, the word of Christ richly dwell in you because they have the exact/identical meaning.

hope this helps!!!

I agree with you here Civic, according to what is actually written in Scriptures. I believe that Paul, Peter, David and Moses were Inspired to teach, "for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness", what the Spirit of Christ Inspired them to write, "For my sake no doubt". They were all chosen by God and Given to the Lord's Christ, who taught them "His Gospel". So it wasn't Paul, Peter, David or Moses who spoke to me the vision of their own heart through the Holy Scriptures. It was the Spirit of the Lord's Christ that dwelled in them, that spoke to me, that shows me in the way that I should go.

These Words can be trusted. But the promoters of this world's religious system, who teaches not to trust much of God's Word, are not to be trusted. The Jesus of the Bible teaches to "take Heed" of these men. Since the very first example of deception was written for our admonition, these voices are shown not to be trusted, "for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."

So then Moses teaching, David's Teaching, Paul's Teaching, Peter's teaching and Jesus teaching, dwells in me, it's the SAME Teaching, by the SAME Spirit of Christ, from the Same Body that Abraham, Caleb, Zacharias, Cornelius, Rehab, James, Paul and all the Faithful examples of the bible "lived by".

It's this Spirit of Christ that enabled Caleb to endure when 598,000 Israelites desired to stone them to death for simply believing in God. It's this Spirit of Christ that enabled Moses to offer himself for the sins of Israel at Mt. Sinai. It was this Spirit of Christ that enabled David to endure in the battle against Goliath. It was this Spirit that humbled Peter when He succumbed to the fear of death. And it was this Spirit that emboldened Paul to defend himself in the face of his accusers.

Acts 24: 13 Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me. 14 But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:

So for me, when Jesus says to "Live By" Every Word of God, He means the words of Moses, David, Peter, Paul, and others chosen by God to be my teachers.
