But that is not what I want to start a conversation on.

Most of us here... right or wrong... believe we are headed up.... !

And there has been so many discussions on where, why, when and how over the years but one thing has always been lacking.

And that is a good discussion on what John saw in
Revelation 21.

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, 4 and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”

The New Jerusalem

10 And he carried me away [g]in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, 11 having the glory of God. Her [h]brilliance was like a very costly stone, as a stone of crystal-clear jasper. 12 [i]It had a great and high wall, [j]with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names were written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel. 13 There were three gates on the east and three gates on the north and three gates on the south and three gates on the west. 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundation stones, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

22 I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb. 24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it. 25 In the daytime (for there will be no night there) its gates will never be closed; 26 and they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it; 27 and nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Questions ?

Is heaven our destination or is the the New Earth after our death?

Is New Earth for whe 1000 year millennium before we go to heaven?

What did Jesus mean when He said in his Fathers house there are many mansions and he was going to go and
prepare a place .....?

Will some people be in actual heaven with God and some on new earth?

And once this old earth is destroyed, will the new earth be here or somewhere else?

heaven is where the saints are prior to the New heavens, new earth and the New Jerusalem. It will be heaven on earth so to speak at that time and unlike the original creation this one will be permanent, no fall, no sin and an eternity with Christ who is God on this earth. :)

So, our spirits (or souls) go back to God who gave them until the time when we would get a new glorified body and settle on New Earth?

.
Back in the decade of the 1960s, while still a young guy in his twenties, it occurred
to me that even if I managed to live a pious enough life to make the cut for
Heaven, I was pretty sure I couldn't keep up the good work forever. Sooner or later
I'd show my true colors and get thrown out.

It occurred to me that if I were as normally and naturally pleasing to God as His
son Jesus always is, then it would be not only be very easy to attain Heaven but
just as easy to stay there. Well; God must's read my thoughts because in the
course of time, I ran across a passage in the book of Ezekiel that goes like this:

"I will gather you up from all the nations and bring you home again to your land.
Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. Your filth will be
washed away, and you will no longer worship idols. And I will give you a new heart
with new and right desires, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your
stony heart of sin and give you a new, obedient heart. And I will put My spirit in
you so you will obey My laws and do whatever I command. (36:24-27)

Just think of the tremendous advantage that passage speaks of. Whereas I am normally
and naturally impious, with that promise in hand I could become just the opposite, viz:
I could become normally and naturally pious. That passage in Ezekiel really perked me
up and lifted my spirits because it gave me a light at the end of the tunnel whereas
before then, I had none.

* Eph 2:11-22 tells how that God has a way for Gentiles to share in the Jews' benefits.
The light at the end of the tunnel spoken of above is available to everyone on Earth
regardless of age, race, color, or gender identity; which the apostle Peter sums up
by saying:

2Pet 1:2-4 . . Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of
God and of Jesus our Lord. His divine power has given us everything we need for
life and piety through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and
goodness. Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so
that through them you may participate in the divine nature.

I suspect that given the choice, most folks would prefer to keep their human
nature; mostly because they're so used to it. But if divine nature is what it takes to
get into God's world and stay in God's world, then of course there's no contest.

So, our spirits (or souls) go back to God who gave them until the time when we would get a new glorified body and settle on New Earth?

We have an eternal home in the heavens....

2Co 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

This is not our final "house" but it is a heavenly body.

Not mansions. The word "mansion" is found in the KJV and is there because of the Latin word "manor". The Greek source doesn't present a "stately manor" as being our final rest. Just "rooms". Places.

God dwells in the tiniest of things like our earthly tabernacle/flesh. This too will change when ALL are joined together in the completed "Body/Bride" of Christ. Then we will be truly like Christ. (However, still not equal to Him)

Peter spoke of how all things will pass away with a "fervent heat" and all things will be "dissolved".

New heavens and New earth are coming our way.
