7 Reasons the church does not go through the great tribulation

Nope. We disagree. selah
Then you problem is with Gods prophetic word not me. Take it up with Him since I'm quoting prophecy yet to be fulfilled and this takes during the great tribulation. The purpose is for the Jews in Jerusalem/Judah in the land of Israel.

Zechariah 12
A prophecy: The word of the Lord concerning Israel.

The Lord, who stretches out the heavens, who lays the foundation of the earth, and who forms the human spirit within a person, declares: 2“I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. 3;On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves. 4;On that day I will strike every horse with panic and its rider with madness,” declares the Lord. “I will keep a watchful eye over Judah, but I will blind all the horses of the nations. 5Then the clans of Judah will say in their hearts, ‘The people of Jerusalem are strong, because the Lord Almighty is their God.’

Zechariah 12:10-11
Then I will pour out on the house of David and on the people of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and prayer, and they will look on Me, the One they have pierced. They will mourn for Him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for Him as one grieves for a firstborn son. On that day the weeping in Jerusalem will be as great as the weeping of Hadad Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo. ie ARMAGEDDON .

Revelation 1:7
Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him—even those who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. So shall it be! Amen.

The above is future and yet to be fulfilled.

hope this helps !!!

The problem is that our understanding of God’s prophecy is not the same.

that is for sure since it has never been fulfilled- the Jews in Isreal have yet to turn tho their Messiah- that happens at His 2nd Coming when they recognize Him. who they have pierced - is killed 2,000 year ago. hHe returns to rescue them from their enemies- all the nations gathered against them in the final battle known as Armageddon

Some of it has been fulfilled; some of it not.

@civic

Brother, have you studied the book of Revelation?

selah
In depth for many years. No so much these days but its ingrained in my memory.

The most important thing I can say regardless of our disagreements with pre, post, mid, amil etc........

Is Jesus return 2nd Coming is IMMINENT. He taught this in many of His parable to be ready for it and to be prepared.

Most people get all caught up in what I cal the peripherals and not the essential- to always be ready and alert for He will come at an hour we do not know.

Here are a few why the church does not go through the great tribulation.

A pretribulation rapture naturally accounts for the presence of the Church in Revelation 2–3 and the conspicuous absence of the Church during the detailed tribulational events of Revelation 4–18.

A pretribulation rapture best explains the noticeable absence of any preparatory instructions for Church Age saints on how to behave and survive in the Tribulation.

A pretribulation rapture logically fits the purpose and sequence of Tribulation events. Its purpose is to remove church age saints from this earth before the Tribulation. It then allows for a further separation of those who continued in their unbelief at the sheep/goat nation judgment. It accounts for the population and propagation of sinners in the Millennium by believers who were saved during the Tribulation.

Love the subject of this thread.

Reason #1: The Tribulation is Jewish in Context
Let us test this first point with the word of God. I tagged a few folks into this discussion......... the more the better. It has been said:

"If you repeat an untruth enough times, many will begin to believe it simply by process of indoctrination, and will look upon it as established truth."-WiseManSay

This definitely has happened to the Great tribulation spoken of first by Daniel, then Christ, followed by Paul and John, in that order.
Reason #1: The Tribulation is Jewish in Context
Everything Scripture says about the tribulation is Jewish in context, teaching, words and symbols. The body of believers is not mentioned in context of experiencing the tribulation…only Jews. For example, consider Matthew 24:15-22:

  • The “abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel” is clearly a reference to the Jewish prophet Daniel who prophesied the 7 year tribulation. At the mid-point of the 7 years, the Antichrist will enter the temple and demand to be worshiped for the remaining 3.5 years of the tribulation. That is what Daniel refers to as the “abomination of desolation.” (Daniel 9:24-27) Would you say that passage is Jewish in context?
  • Matthew 24:16 references those who flee from Judea during the tribulation. Where is Judea? Would you say this is Jewish in context?
  • In verse 20 of that chapter there is concern about having to flee on the Sabbath. Would you say that is Jewish in context?
I have written on the Olivet Discourse many times over the years, and no man can prove that the context in this discourse is Jewish, and a matter of fact it is very clear that it is not Jewish not even close.

1) Let every serious student of the scriptures understand the Olivet Discourse takes up two chapters, not one, Matthew 24, and 25, is ONE discourse given by the Lord Jesus Christ and must be interpreted as such, so all of the context of these two chapters must be consider as ONE discourse on "one" important subject, the end of the world and events leading up to that day, per Matthew 25:31-43.

2)
The “abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel”~for now, I will say this, the abomination of desolation is that which is an abomination to God, not to the Jews, and it is what God shall make desolate in His time! The abomination of desolation is the same as the antichrist, the man of sin, that shall arise in the churches of the saints in the last days of the little season of Revelation 20, etc. The man of sin is just as the phrase said: man of sin...man of sin ~any and all men (A man of sin, like a man of war, is one proficient and forward in sin and sinning. Collective nouns are single in number, but include all of their species See Ist Tim 2:11; 2nd Tim 3:17; Ps 10:18; 37:7; Heb 9:7... Pre-mill want a future single man, but the scriptures are clear, they will be many, more on this later) who fill the churches in the latter days of the last day just before the coming of the Son of God, who stand in the temple of God (churches of the saints) and declaring that he is God, by omitting certain truths and preaching against them and adding certain lies in order to accommodate the millions of false professor that shall fill the churches of the last days.

3) The writer said: Matthew 24:16 references those who flee from Judea during the tribulation. Where is Judea? Would you say this is Jewish in context?

Judea in the OT was where the temple was and where folks went to worship, so we understand by the overall content of the context and many other scriptures quoted below) that the Lord was referring to the churches in the latter day where Christ was profess to be worshipped. Sound bites are not the means of interpreting the scriptures, scriptures must be compare with scriptures (like Daniel 7-12; 2nd Thess. 2; 1st John 2;18; and Revelation of Jesus Christ before we know we have the truth on the particular subject under consideration~both chapter of Matthew 24,25 all points to the end of the world and all of teh world, not to a very small area about the size of Delaware if even that.

4) The writer said: "In verse 20 of that chapter there is concern about having to flee on the Sabbath. Would you say that is Jewish in context?" absolutely not. Let's look at this verse:

Matthew 24:20

“But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:”

If what the premill say that Christ was warning Jewish people that they should be praying that when they see their city compassed about then pray that your need to flee, it was not in the winter time, or on the Sabbath day. Question, who cares if it is winter, or the Sabbath day if one's life is in danger, they would flee regardless!

But we are to seek the spiritual meaning of what Christ meant for US to heed since the warning of the word of God arf eofr God's people who beleive in him, not for any one else.

The true meaning of these verses for US to heed is this: What do we think of concerning winter time? It is the time of barren, lifeless season. So, we must be careful when we see these things coming to pass, we must make sure our own life is not like the winter time...fruitless and barren! When we think of the Sabbath day we think of rest, from our labors~so, when we see these days being fulfilled before our own eyes, we must not take a rest period, and begin to slumber and sleep, but we MUST labor to make sure our own life is a life that when Christ returns we will find us laboring, watching, and doing the will of God expecting our Lord's return at any time, we must not take time off, and live as though we have much time to prepare our selves for our Lord's return. Matthew 25 will support this interpretation !

Later tomorrow..

Matthew chapter 23 Ends with the JESUS prophesying Judgment upon the Jewish leaders and nation and their restoration which will only BEGIN with the LORD fulfilling His Prophecies of Zechariah 13:8-9 & 14:1-5 and Matthew 23:37-39

Matthew chapter 24: is a New Dialogue between the LORD and His Bide = the Body of Christ

This is VERY GOOD but needs some tweaking according to "It is written".

Jeremiah 30:7, 11 reference the tribulation. Do you find Jewish context in those verses? Verse 7 hint: Jacob was the son of Isaac, the son of Abraham, and his name was changed. Do you know the new name he was given? (Genesis 32:28) The tribulation is called “the time of Jacob’s trouble” because God will deal solely with Israel, to bring them to repentance. Verse 11 hint: who will the Lord save after having been scattered?
We will let the angel tell us who Jacob has reference to according to NT prophetic language.

Luke 1:33
“And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.”

Daniel 7:14

“And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed."

Not over the Jews, the posterity of Jacob, in a literal sense; it is speaking of the children of God's promises in Christ over the whole Israel of God, (Galatians 6: 16) consisting of Jews and Gentiles. For as his father David reigned over the Idumeans, Syrians, and others, as well as over the house of Judah and Israel, so this his son shall reign over both Jews and Gentiles: (God's elect from every nations under heaven) his kingdom shall be from one end of the earth to the other, even over all the elect of God; who in successive generations call themselves by the name of Jacob, and surname themselves by the name of Israel, of whatsoever nation they be; and this reign of his shall be "for ever, and of his kingdom there shall be no end"; referring to Isaiah 9:7 see also Daniel 2:44 Daniel 7:14 for now he's shall reign in the hearts of his people here unto the end of this world; and then in the world to come in the new heavens and new earth, for all eternity, in the ultimate glory.
Reason #2: There are other Historical, Biblical Parallels in which God Removed People from Judgment
1 Thessalonians 1:10 tells us that Jesus will rescue us from the day of wrath. But why would God do that? Has He ever done it before?
The great tribulation period spoken of by Daniel, and then Christ, followed by Paul, and John, is not God's wrath upon the world in generally, and definitely not of the Jews, since they are not part of God' prophecies of the last days except being part of those who reject the testimony of Jesus Christ, but upon the false churches in Mystery Babylon. As we moved closer to the end of this world, which we have in the last one hundred and seventy years or so, give or take a few years, more on this later, but but anyone knows a little of church history, we know this: about 1825-50 give and take, many false cults were born into this world: The Church of the Mormons, formally known as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was started on April 6th 1830; On May 21, 1863, the Seventh-day Adventist Church was officially founded in Battle Creek, Michigan; Jehovah's Witnesses started as an Bible study group led by Charles Taze Russell in 1870's initially known as Bible Students. The Pentecostal churches was established in 1906, with its primary catalyst being the Azusa Street Revival in Los Angeles, which began in 1906 and was led by African American preacher William J. Seymour. Others as well, but these make up the majority of the false cults started in the latter days of the last days of this world. This world has been flooded with false churches with their false bibles which the market places of this world has been flooded with so many versions of God's word that it is hard to know just how many since the numbers change almost monthly! All part of the great tribulation period spoken of by men of God in the scriptures. God will put it into the hearts of the kings of this world to destroy false religions just before this world comes to its end, but the problem they will make is this: in the process of destroying the false religion of this world, these kings shall encamp against the camp of the saints (not the Jews) and seek to destroys her along with the false religions and that's where fire will come down from heaven and destroyed THEM ! Revelation 17:16-18; Revelation 20:8,9; Revelation 18:16-24 scriptures we shall consider later.

Do not say it, prove it! Just because I refused to give in to the false teaching of premillennialism, does not mean I ran from the passage, I just refuse to bow down to your false teaching. Prove that I'm wrong by using scriptures.

These are clear examples of specific promises made to the church alone. This is reason #3 why the church will not go through the tribulation.
The secret rapture of the church before the last days is a false doctrine. The church of Jesus Christ will be here until the last day, and will "not" be taken out before then. That's a heresy promoted by the Scofield reference Bible, that many different cults and sad to say some good Christians have bought into, simply by the fact of what we said above:
If you repeat an untruth enough times, many will begin to believe it simply by process of indoctrination, and will look upon it as established truth."-WiseManSay
Jesus Christ said this:

John 6:39

“And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.”

John 6:40

“And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.”

John 6:54

“Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

John 5:28

“Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
This takes place on the last day, at the LAST TRUMP!

1st Corinthians 15:51,52

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”

The last trump is the seventh trumpet of Revelation, when there shall be NO MORE after this one, and clearly Paul is saying that saints shall be raised at the LAST TRUMP. So, the resurrection of the saints takes place on the last day at the last trumpet.

Revelation 11:15

“And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.”

Revelation 16:17

“And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.”

Revelation 10:7

“But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.”

So, there is no more time after the last (seventh) trump shall sound

Friends, where are we during the tribulation?
Let the scriptures tell us.

Revelation 13:7

“And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.”

The man of sin, or the antichrist which are many shall make war against God's children during the little season of Revelation 20, and overcome them, in this sense: "They will not be welcome in the false churches of the last day, and they will flee from the those false churches, knowing that their teachings and lifestyle would not be welcome among the latter day churches in Mystery Babylon!"

2nd Peter 2:1

“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.”

Matthew 24:4

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many."
Here the Lord is warning US that many shall come in his name and saying that Jesus is the Christ, yet they shall deceive many. Since it is another jesus with another gospel . Peter said that they will even deny the Lord which bought them!
How is this done? Just the very way that you civic are doing, by teaching against the truth that Jesus only died for HIS PEOPLE, by rejecting the biblical truth of the atonement and rejecting the doctrine of unconditional election, in essence you are even denying the very Christ that the scriptures present to us, yours is another jesus, another gospel driven by another spirit. We live in dangerous time per 2nd Timothy 3. So dangerous, that if God did not shortened these days then no flesh would be saved with the true knowledge of Jesús Christ!

Matthew 24:22

“And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.”

For our sake God will shortened these latter days of this earth, or the truth of God would not be found among the profess churches of the last days. It is almost now gone! The most hated truth among these latter day churches in Mystery Babylon is God's election of pue grace, it is even mocked by most, and those that hold to those truth are hated for the most part. They hated Jesus for teaching these truths:

there are lots of trumpets, and the last day/days are not a single 24 hour day.

Thats the Jews in Israel, Jerusalem, Judea- not the church in Matt 24 and Revelation.
