“How does ‘the Word was a god’ fit with the Bible’s teaching that there is only one God?”

Gen 1:27 assures only 1/2 of the US created= HE. Prov 8:27-28 backs that truth up-only a HE created -
The HE is YHWH the WORD that was ELOHIM and became flesh = YHWH YAHshua HaMashiach

All THREE are included as Echad ELOHIM = Genesis chapter 1 = John chapter 1

The HOLY SPIRIT is Uniquely Eternal just as the FATHER just as the SON = Echad ELOHIM

It isn't even a living being. It has 0 equality with the Father and son.

The idea that the Holy Spirit is just an impersonal force doesn’t survive even a basic reading of Scripture.

The Holy Spirit speaks, teaches, guides, and can be grieved (Acts 13:2; John 14:26; John 16:13; Ephesians 4:30). A force does none of those things .....those are personal actions.

Acts 5:3–4 goes further: lying to the Holy Spirit is lying to God. Not to a force BUTto God.

And Matthew 28:19 places the Holy Spirit alongside the Father and the Son in a single divine name. If He were merely a force, that inclusion would make no sense.

Pointing to verses about the Spirit being “poured out” doesn’t solve this, it just ignores the passages where He clearly acts, speaks, and is identified as God.

So this is not a defensible biblical position, it is a selective reading that leaves out the very verses that contradict it.

It also come VERY close to committing blasphemy against Him, and Jesus told us how bad that will be

“Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter;
but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation”— because they said, “He has an unclean spirit.”

Flee from religion and run to the LORD Jesus Christ and escape eternal condemnation

You are in error. Jehovah is Elohim as the name Elijah testifies to-El( Elohim) is Jehovah. The Hebrew word for God=Elohim=The supreme one = nothing plural about it in the Hebrew language. Twisting by men in darkness makes it plural for the true God.

God used the holy spirit as a go between, God asked the question, God sought the answer. Catholicism encyclopedia says--In most instances the holy spirit is NOT spoken of as a living being. If its a living being, tell us its personal name? Both Father and son have personal names. Explain why one does not have to know the holy spirit to get eternal life, but has to know the Father and the son( John 17:3) Explain to all of us whu its never shown on a throne as the Father and son are?

The holy spirit carries Jesus' Fathers will 100%. So its against the Father really.
