The Uniqueness of Jesus Christ

Heb 12:5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
Heb 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
Heb 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
Heb 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

Pay attention to what you read above.

Every person that comes to God is chastened because they are not EXACTLY like God.

Notice how "bastards" are described. Bastards are those who are not currently being chastened. Which means that unless you're being chastened for not being like God, then you're not really a son.

That chastening last our entire lives.

In CONTRAST, the uniqueness of the One and ONLY Son of the Father, Jesus Christ, never was chastened because he wasn't exactly like the Father in Character.

Heb 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the exacting CHARACTER/χαρακτήρ of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

EXACT CHARACTER in Jesus Christ as the Father. In this, they are ONE. Always. ONE.

A Person is only as good as their character makes them to be. Everyone apart from the One and Only Son, Jesus Christ isn't a perfect image of the Father. They're being chastened because they're not. If you're not currently being chastened then you're a bastard and not a son.

This is why I have said among you all.....over and over again that chastening "itself" is evidence of our weakness and incompleteness.
