The Death of Christ was a sacrifice sure enough, in that He died for our sins,if Sheep 1 Cor 15:3
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received,
how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; Now this death for our sins is substitutionary, in that
He died in our stead, for the wages of our sins Rom 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God
is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Hence them He died for dont have to and wont die in their sins, since He already did. The word "for" in1 Cor 15:3 is a important word, its the prep
hyper:
in (one's) stead,in behalf of, which justly freed them from death the sanction of the law, which is death

56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
So every sinner born into this world for whom Christ died, are secretly dead from the law by the death of Christ,or it may read the body of Christ, for instance Rom 7:4
4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
The word dead here is
thanatoō and its in the passive voice, and it means here in this context:

Therefore, my brothers and sisters,
you also were put to death in relation to the law through the body of Christ so that you may belong to another. You belong to him who was raised from the dead in order that we may bear fruit for God.CSB

Now this was resultive solely by Christ being a substitute sacrifice !
