Continued;
5 There were they (God's People) in great fear: for God is in "the generation of the righteous". 6 Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge.
Surely Paul and the Body of Christ are part of the "Generation of the Righteous" being slandered and falsely accused by those who, as Paul describes in Titus 1, "profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate".
And to drive his point home, for those who would SEEK the truth of his teaching, Paul also quoted part of Psalms 5.
Psalms 5: 4 For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.
5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
6 Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.
7 But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
8 Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.
9 For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.
10 Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.
11 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
12 For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
So there are many, many more scriptures that can be used to expose the popular religious philosophy of this world, "There is no one righteous, no not one" that is used to justify the unrighteousness of men.
Hopefully the next time you read Paul saying;
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: 14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: 15 Their feet are swift to shed blood: 16 Destruction and misery are in their ways: 17 And the way of peace have they not known: 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.
You will know he isn't talking about everyone.
