I too have received prophecy and seen visions. It is what turned me from humanism to Christ.
I have too which I won't get into but you better make sure you test the spirits and your visions to make sure they're lined up with the word of God. They may genuinely be spiritual....but of God? That's another matter.

I believe the prophets ended the same time as the Apostles.

Agreed. I noticed no one provided Scripture to support their post. I hold this is truth.

Acts 2:17
“’In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.
You already said you believed this. Most in Christendom believe as you do despite Scripture that prophecies there will be in the last days prophets. Why do you ignore Acts 2:17 and go with your private beliefs?

That was fulfilled in Acts which is why it was quoted from the OT. Its no longer future, its past.

One anti-modern prophet even speculated that the visions I saw were the work of demons. I laughed and pointed out that it is a very bad demon, indeed - as far as demons go - that the fruit of their work is to drive people to Christ! 😁

Peter in Acts 2 quotes several OT passages about the future declaring their present day fulfillment in Peters day. Its past. Its history. Its fulfilled.

The last days described in Acts 2.
Again, you think we are past the last days?

Revelation is after the time of Acts 2. I guess your doctrine is unshakeable despite witnesses on these very forums telling you they have received prophecy - consistent with Acts 2:17, in recognition that Christ has NOT yet come and we are NOT past the last days.

Acts 2 last days have been fulfilled now you moved the goal posts to an entirely different last days with the 2nd Coming of Christ. Acts last days are dealing with the fulfillment under His 1st Coming. You are conflating the 2 Comings of Christ and the last days fulfillment on both.

hope this helps !!!

No sir. You've engaged in eisegesis again. Who should I believe, you or the Holy Spirit who came to me when I was still an enemy of Christ and gave me a prophecy and a vision?

The NRSV study note for Acts 2:27 states that many Jewish people thought as you do now, that prophets no longer existed in their day.

It is not logical for the Bible to warn us of false prophets as we get to the end times if there were not also going to be true prophets as Acts 2:17 explicitly states. The following verses are identified in NRSV as parallel to Acts 2:17

Joel 2:28-32
It will happen afterward that I will pour out my spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams. Your young men will see visions. 29And also on my servants and on my servant girls in those days, I will pour out my spirit. 30I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: blood, fire, and pillars of smoke. 31The sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and terrible Day of Yahweh comes. 32It will happen that whoever will call on the name of Yahweh will be saved

Zech 12:10
and I will pour out on the house of David
and on those living in Yerushalayim
a spirit of grace and prayer

Acts 10:45
And the believers from the circumcision were amazed, all those who came with Peter, because on the Gentiles also the gift of the holy spirit was poured out.
Acts 21:9
He had four unmarried daughters with the gift of prophecy.

Not sure what thread is the right thread for this. The video below at about 19:30 mark delves into modern prophets. Do you believe there are true modern prophets?

Have you experienced visions and prophecy?

I have a lot of respect for Pastor Steve Cioccolanti and have watched many of his vids and purchased his books.
This sounds like theology discussion around things prophets wrote, it doesn't sound like prophets speaking.

And the real prophets were not basing their calling upon subjective feelings and experience but objective truth upon Gods revelation with specific things and details that would come to pass with warnings and consequences if their was no repentance. Other prophecies were how God would move nations/kings to accomplish His purposes and others the details of His coming Messiah. There are no prophets today like there was in Biblical times. That ended with the very last of Gods prophets John who wrote the Revelation. Those who call themselves a Prophet like John, Daniel, Ezekiel and the Minor Prophets are on nothing but an ego trip.

Ephesians 2
Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household,20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.

There can be no other foundation. The foundation was built with those Apostles and Prophets in the N.T. It’s over no more foundations can be built. Those who try are on sinking sand and the entire structure collapses. Those offices are over in the church with Apostles/Prophets. John was the very last one who held those offices in the Church. When he died so did those offices.

If anyone thinks they still exist then the Catholic Church is right with the Succession of Peter with the Popes.

hope this helps !!!

Easy as apple pie as God was still using prophets until John wrote the last of Gods revelations though His appointed office of Apostles/Prophets. The book of Revelation.

Those who add to that prophecy by claiming new revelation from God- He will add to them the plagues that are written in that book.

hope this helps !!!

No one is claiming to add to that prophecy! Not that there are not other prophecies.

Although you invited me to this forum, I'm going to put you on ignore as I cannot stand your rationalizations in denying God's word (Acts 2:17) and at least 2 witnesses in this very thread of new prophecy.

I shake the dust off my feet from your IDOLATROUS town.

If you are saying God will do certain things in the future then you are by default adding to Revelation.

Any more fallacious arguments for me ?

hope this helps !!!

There are Gods real Prophets and there are false prophets, there are Gods real Apostles and there are false apostles, there is Gods real Messiah/Christ and there are false messiahs/christs.

hope this helps !!!

Wrangler that's a pretty strong statement to make to the other who merely states that there is no new foundational truth. Maybe can you demonstrate through a track record of being right that God is showing you things. Let us see the fruits of your claims. I do agree with that poster though....there is no new foundational truths being revealed.
