Lost as a Goose
In fields where shadows dance and play,
A soul once wandered, led astray.
With scripture clutched in trembling hands,
I thought I understood the promised lands.
“Saved,” I whispered, my heart aglow,
Yet deep within, uncertainty did grow.
For wisdom’s depths are vast and wide,
And many truths, like rivers, glide.
I sought assurance, I sought the key,
But found my heart a mystery.
As geese in flight may drift and turn,
In endless skies, I yearned to learn.
Oh, Voddie’s words, they pierce the night,
Reminding me to seek the light.
Not just the words upon the page,
But faith that binds and frees from cage.
For knowledge, though a noble quest,
Is but a tool; it cannot rest.
To truly know, my heart must yield,
To love and grace, the sacred field.
So here I stand, a humble seeker,
Not lost in texts, but growing deeper.
In Christ alone, my hope, my song,
In His embrace, where I belong.
Let not the pages be my guide,
But faith in Him, my steadfast stride.
For saved I am, not by mere sight,
But by His love, my heart’s delight.
