Log-Eye Disease

Log-eye disease is easy to explain but hard to overcome. It’s our natural tendency to see the speck in someone else’s eye while being oblivious to the log in our own. It’s why we see and remember the worst in others while seeing and remembering only the best in ourselves. For that, we can thank Adam. Ever since his infamous fall, And shifting the blame when he said "It was that woman you gave me..." log-eye disease has been epidemic. So much so that Jesus famously warned us about its dangers when it comes to making judgments about others.

Parable of the Speck and The Log - Matthew 7:1-5

  • “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

The plank is a lack of actual love a lot of times I think.

Before you correct someone ask yourself, would I be crucified naked on a Cross for their sins?

It's hard to match Christ's standard of love.

Cross? I never would have made it out of the 40 days of Temptation in the desert. Those stones would have been rye bread.

And that is proof positive He was God. Could you imagine adam in that situation after 1 day would of failed. satan was no match for our Impeccable Lord, God and Savior Jesus Christ even at His weakest. Amen !!!

God had to do what man was incapable of doing which was the whole point of the Incarnation. Don't listen to those who strip Jesus of His Deity/Majesty/ Glory as God Incarnate. Christ is even veiled to them. We must never forget He is a Divine Person just like the Father and Holy Spirit.

Log-Eye Disease... That's a good one first time I ever heard it. We've probably all been guilty of that one at one time or another.

Okay biblical answer it is:

Behold, what I have seen to be good and fitting is for one to eat and drink, and to find enjoyment in all the labor in which he labors under the sun all the days which God gives him—for this is his [allotted] part. Also, every man to whom God has given riches and possessions, and the power to enjoy them and to accept his appointed lot and to rejoice in his toil—this is the gift of God [to him]. ECCLESIASTES 5:18–19
