Jesus in the Old Testament

“What’s the Old Testament all about?” The Author, the divine Author behind the human authors, had already given the answer to similarly confused disciples about two thousand years ago. Jesus told them the Old Testament was all about Him.

Jesus told His disciples that His life and death matched exactly the predictions of the Old Testament prophets. They had believed some of the prophets’ writings—the parts that spoke of the Messiah’s glory. But they had not believed all that the prophets had spoken—especially the parts that spoke of the Messiah’s sufferings and death.

By some counts, more than 300 Old Testament prophecies point to Jesus Christ and were fulfilled by Him in His life on earth. These include prophecies about His unique birth (Isaiah 7:14), His earthly ministry (Isaiah 61:1), and even the way He would die (Psalm 22). Jesus shocked the religious establishment when He stood up in the synagogue of Nazareth and read from Isaiah 61, concluding with this commentary: “This scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing today” (Luke 4:18–21). Got?

But there are even deeper ways that Jesus is found in the Old Testament. These are seen in what we call “types.” A type is a person or thing in the Old Testament that foreshadows a person or thing in the New.

So the Bible is all about Jesus.

That's about the size of it.

He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?” And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself. (Luke 24:25–27)

You are mistaken, misleading others. Its all about the Father to Jesus. Yes there were prophecies of the one whom God would send= God did not come down here. The OT is mostly about-YHVH(Jehovah) = the Father = the one who sent the Messiah= THE ONLY TRUE GOD( John 17:3)--(John 3:16-17--God sent his son= God did not come down here as human.

CORRECT AGAIN.

Jesus, the Spirit, who is Holy, is the God of the OT as well as the NT, the whole bible is all about him.

Good eyes to see that.

You don't know the Father without the Son. Thusly, to you, it ALL about the Son.

Heb 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

1Pe 1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
1Pe 1:20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

It has always been about the Lamb slain. It took the death of God Himself experiencing death in the flesh to establish Eternal Life for flesh. It why He partook of the same....

Heb 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
Heb 9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
Heb 9:17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

CORRECT, because he is ... "GOD", the Lord is the LORD in flesh which he came in. understand?

101G

He is most distinctly, the Son. Don't try to conflate things because you don't understand them.

The Father is unique in Person. The Son is unique in Person. The Spirit of God is unique in Person.

There is always a "TOGETHER" within the context of Deity. God. It is perfection beyond measure.

ERROR, the "EQUAL SHARE" of ... HIMSELF in the ECHAD. do you understand?

101G

You have no "EQUAL SHARE" in what you present.

How do you share something in the way you're presenting such yet have both "share" and "equality"?

It requires Three "Persons".
Another ERROR on your part, Listen and Learn,
since you’re in Hebrews, the Son came to do the Father’s will, ok.

Hebrews 1:9 "Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows." Hebrews 1:10 "And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:"

The Lord laid the foundation of the Earth … correct. now this, Zechariah 12:1 "The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him."

now tell us which one laid the foundation of the earth? since you said the Son is not the Father..... your answer please.

question, 1 Timothy 6:14 "That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:" 1 Timothy 6:15 "Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;" 1 Timothy 6:16 "Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen."

if the Lord Jesus is the .... ONLY... one who have immortality, meaning ETERNAL LIFE, where is the other so-called persons? because "ONLY" means, and no one or nothing more besides; solely or exclusively. .... hello.

Some of the OT is about Jesus-Yet the name Jesus is not found 1 single spot in the OT where as YHVH(Jehovah) is in nearly 6800 spots.

John 15:10-14--All must obey Jesus to remain his friend and remain in his love. The same for Jesus, he must obey the Father to remain in his love.--This proves Jesus could fail and not have eternal life. But Jehovah gave him eternal life because he lives 24/7-365 doing his Fathers will without fail. Doing his Fathers will makes them-ONE.

ERROR, Listen and Learn, Isaiah 41:4 "Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he." the "LORD". the Father is the First correct, now this, Isaiah 48:12 "Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last." the term "ALSO" means, in addition; too. got it now? THE SAME ONE PERSON IS THE FIRST/"FATHER"/LORD, who is LAST/"SON"/Lord. ....... HELLO?
