I'm not ashamed of the gospel

God is amazing. He is the sum total of everything that we are and everything that we aren’t. Sin is destructive and nagging. The Gospel, thus far, makes us feel a little small. God is massive; sin is utterly terrible. It’s like getting kicked while you are down. However, that isn’t the end of the story. It’s amazing how one little three-letter word can change everything.

Ephesians 2:1-7
"And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus."

God’s glorious answer to sin was Jesus. Jesus was the full payment for our sin.

This is the Gospel: God, limitless in authority and power was determined to provide an adequate solution to the disastrous pain of sin. The separation that sin has caused between humanity and God needed resolve. Jesus came to be the perfect and full payment for sin. We can enter back into harmonious relationship with God through faith in Jesus and true repentance.

I am so thankful for Jesus coming to my rescue. He stepped into my broken and helplessness and lifted me up.

There are certain points we all need to understand about the salvation of Jesus.

  • First, we all are sinners and stand under the judgment of God.
  • Second, God loves us, and Jesus came to make forgiveness and salvation possible. He died on the cross as the complete sacrifice for our sins. He took on Himself the judgment that we deserve.
  • Third, God in His grace offers us the gift of eternal life. But like any gift, it becomes ours ONLY when we respond and receive it.
  • Fourth, salvation is intimately linked to Jesus and the cross. Jesus’ virgin birth, by the miraculous intervention of the Holy Spirit, meant that He did not inherit a sinful human nature like we did. Neither did Jesus commit any sin during His lifetime. Jesus became the only perfect Man, and as such, He was uniquely qualified to put into action God’s plan of salvation for mankind. On the cross, Jesus took the punishment of our sin. He was our Substitute. He suffered the judgment and condemnation of death that our sinful nature and deeds deserve.
  • Finally, faith is essential for salvation. But, there are various kinds of beliefs or faith, and not all are linked to salvation. In the New Testament, faith means more than intellectual belief. It involves trust and commitment. I may say that I believe a bridge will hold my weight. But I really believe it only when I commit myself to it and walk across it. Salvation faith involves an act of commitment and trust, in which you commit your life to Jesus Christ and trust Him alone as your Savior and Lord.

God’s glorious answer to sin was Jesus. Jesus was the full payment for our sin.
More specifically, it was for the sins of His People Matt 1:21

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.

And He saved them from their sins by His full payment for them.

Just curious, but if challenged, could you offer Scripture to support each point of what you posted above? In other words, how sure are you that YOUR answer is GOD’s answer?
(I am not requesting proof, just asking if you are confident that you can “give a reason for the hope that you have within you” if you had to.)

lets examine the last one . FAITH .
If ones faith is not in GOD it is all in vain ,
and THUS ifs one faith BE NOT IN JESUS CHRIST , IT IS NOT IN GOD .
the key to faith is
WHO do we BELEIVE and OBEY . is it men OR GOD , is it JESUS or another image of him produced by men .
WHEN GOD SPOKE abraham believed and abraham did .
And GOD spoke t hrough the pr ophets and lastly BY THE SON .
But many heed NOT the testimony that GOD gave of the SON .
And sadly that includes a lot more of christendom than many realize .
So let us know this simple TRUTH .
A person cannot LOVE GOD and hate TRUTH . And though a man can claim TO
LOVE GOD if he loves not TRUTH he decieves only himself and all who heed him .
And now a word .
EVERY WORD OF GOD IS TRUTH and JESUS IS THE TRUTH THE WAY AND THE LIFE
and no man cometh to the FATHER but BY HIM .
There is no such thing as a good muslim , buddists , or any man really .
NO MAN IS GOOD according to the r ighteous standards of a HOLY GOD .
THUS that sure do mean THAT ALL NEED TO REPENT and BELEIVE ON JESUS THE CHRIST .
And let us know this , JESUS is not the minstir , thus supporter of any sin . SO dont run
to that one cause it accepts the sins of ones heart . OR that one has run to something else
WHO used the name of JESUS to remold another one in its own image . That one cannot save but can only grave .
