GINOLJC, to all.
there is nothing in error about Gal 3:19-20 cornering the Shema in light of Christ's Divinity. the term "ONE" in the scripture of Deut. 6:4 says and explaines it all. Deuteronomy 6:4 "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:" now Galatians 3:19 & 20, "Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator." Galatians 3:20 "Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one."
the key to understanding both scriptures is in the terms "ONE" in Deut. 6:4 the Hebrew term,
ONE: H259 אֶחָד 'echad (ech-awd') adj.
1. (properly) united, i.e. one.
2. (as an ordinal) first.
[a numeral from H258]
KJV: a, alike, alone, altogether, and, any(-thing), apiece, a certain, (dai-)ly, each (one), + eleven, every, few, first, + highway, a man, once, one, only, other, some, together.
Root(s): H258
NOTICE the second definition, 2. (as an ordinal) first. this is the first step in understanding God divinity ....... IN "ORDINAL" designations. as in Ordinal "FIRST" and Ordinal "LAST" .... better known as first and last.
Galatians 3:20 "Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one."
G1520 εἷς heis (heis') n.
ἕν hen (hen') [including the neuter (etc.)]
one.
[a primary numeral]
KJV: a(-n, -ny, certain), + abundantly, man, one (another), only, other, some
See also: G1527, G3367, G3391, G3762
here again God's divinity is in Ordinal designations of himself. this is the KEY to God divinity... the Ordinal designations of himself in "TIME", "PLACE", "ORDER", and "RANK". just as Genesis 1:1 clearly points out. because a MEDIATOR is another name for an "ADVOCATE". 1 John 2:1 "My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:" is not the Lord Jesus God? for the term "Advocate" in Greek means,
G3875 παράκλητος parakletos (pa-ra'-klee-tos) n.
1. (properly) one called near (to give help).
2. an intercessor (one who entreats of behalf of another).
3. a comforter.
[(not given)]
KJV: advocate, comforter
Root(s): G3844, G2822
there he is, a comforter, which is an "ADVOCATE", or ..... a "MEDIATOR.", AND THIS DIVINITY IS CLEARLY SEEN IN,
John 14:16 "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;"
Another: G243 ἄλλος allos (al'-los) adj.
“else,” i.e. different.
{in many applications}
[a primary word]
KJV: more, one (another), (an-, some an-)other(-s, -wise)
there is the answer, one, (who is the (another), of one's self. just as expressed in the term, MEDIATOR in Galatians 3:20
"Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one."
G1520 εἷς heis (heis') n.
ἕν hen (hen') [including the neuter (etc.)]
one.
[a primary numeral]
KJV: a(-n, -ny, certain), + abundantly, man, one (another), only, other, some
See also: G1527, G3367, G3391, G3762
another ... "one" his own self? yes,
Another: G243 ἄλλος allos (al'-los) adj.
“else,” i.e. different.
{in many applications}
[a primary word]
KJV: more, one (another), (an-, some an-)other(-s, -wise)
this "ONE (ANOTHER) of one's self is the answer to Gal. 3:20 as well as to the SHEMA.
hope that helped,
