Cheap Grace

A key thing is what we mean by repent.

Before conversion, everyone is dead in sin. No one is perfect. So if repent is meant as a work of behaviour of lessening sin BEFORE conversion, then that doesn't save anyone.

Repent is a 'change of mind, heart' from unbelief in Jesus to belief in Jesus.

That's all. It can't be good behaviour. A believer can only commit to good behavior for Jesus, having already been converted by Jesus.

cheap grace to Bonhoeffer is simply grace without Jesus – and grace without Jesus is no grace at all.

This was definitely an eye-opener for me.
