Promise #72:
I am with you and I will help you because I am your God.

Isaiah 41:10 (WEB)
Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

Jesus told us in Luke 12:32 to fear not, for it is our Father's good pleasure to give us His kingdom. God doesn't want us to live in fear. He wants us rather to live in the safety and security of knowing that He loves us and He is for us (Romans 8:31). The reason why we don't have to be afraid is because He is with us wherever we go.

Since our Dad is the biggest, strongest, most loving Dad in the universe, we can rest in His 24/7 care of every area of our life. In today's Bible verse, God promises to be with us wherever we go. He promises to strengthen us, help us and hold us up with His mighty right hand.

Psalm 27:1... Yahweh is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid? (WEB)

Promise #73:
I will never abandon you.

Hebrews 13:5 (WEB)
Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have,
for he has said, “I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.”

In today's Bible verse, the writer of Hebrews encourages us to be content with our lives because our God and Father has promised to never leave us or forsake us. In the knowledge of our Papa's closeness, we can take a deep breath and simply rest in His nearness. We don't have to be anxious about anything. We don't have to covet anything, because we have all that we need in the arms of our Heavenly Father.

If we are not convinced that everything we need can be found in the intimacy and fellowship found in God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, we will seek other things in order to be satisfied. However, if we truly believe in our heart that God will never leave us or forsake us, we will know that we have indeed found the pearl of great price.

No matter where you go, God goes with you. If you have received the free gift of Jesus' life, then you are the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit, whether you feel His presence or not. God will NOT abandon you! He is closer to you than you possibly could imagine.

My prayer for each one of us is that we would be convinced more of this promise today than ever before! He will never leave you or forsake you...never!

Promise #74:
I see all your hardships and I care about your suffering.

Psalm 31:7 (WEB)
I will be glad and rejoice in your loving kindness,
for you have seen my affliction.
You have known my soul in adversities.

The English Standard Version of the Psalm 31:7 says this... I will rejoice and be glad in your steadfast love, because you have seen my affliction; you have known the distress of my soul (ESV) King David, who wrote this psalm, knew a lot about hardship and affliction. He experienced much loss, betrayal, grief and violence in his tumultuous life.

The one thing I have always appreciated about David was his transparency when writing the Psalms. He never tried to cover up his true feelings. He was honest in his communication with God. In today's Bible verse found in Psalm 31:7, we read how David was keenly aware of the steadfast love that God had for him. He was also aware that God understood his suffering and deeply cared for him in the midst of his distress.

No matter what pain you are going through in your life today, God understands. He knows us more than we know ourselves. When He sees our struggles and our suffering, His heart is filled with compassion for us. As David also wrote in Psalm 103:13-14, God has compassion on us just like a good father has compassion on his children. May you and I be overwhelmed with His steadfast love today in the midst of our suffering.

Promise #75:
When you pass through the waters, I will be close to you.

Isaiah 43:2 (WEB)
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they will not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned,
and flame will not scorch you.

We live only a few miles away from the mighty Niagara River. The world renowned Niagara Falls is part of the incredible torrent of water that flows between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario here in Canada. Whenever I get the opportunity to come close to its river bank, I see first hand the incredible power of its rapids. What can possibly withstand such a raging force?

In today's promise, our God tells us that no matter how deep the water we wade in, or how raging the river that comes against us in life, we will not be overwhelmed...for He is with us. His love for us is stronger than anything that would try and come against us and overtake us. The first part of Zephaniah 3:17 says... For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. (NLT)

My prayer today is that each one of us would know how big and how strong our God is. No matter the size of the opposition coming against our lives or those we love, God is bigger. He has promised to be with us when we pass through the waters so that we will not be overwhelmed because that is what good fathers do! May we rest in His loving care today.

Promise #76:
My anointing will teach you all you need to know.

1 John 2:27 (WEB)
As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you don’t need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you will remain in him.

In today's promise, the Apostle John tells us that the anointing that comes from God abides in us and will teach us all the things that we need to know. The Greek word used for anointing in this passage is chrisma which is the root word for charisma or charismatic.

The Enhanced Strong's Lexicon describes it as anything smeared on, unguent, ointment. This usually described the ceremony process when a priest was anointed as he was launched into public ministry. It is interesting to think that God has smeared us with His very presence so that we too can live our lives on earth as kings and priests (Revelation 1:6).

This is an amazing truth...We are the temple of His Holy Spirit and the abiding place of God Almighty Himself! God has promised to lead us and guide us in all truth if we will simply have an ear to hear what the Spirit is saying.

My prayer today is that you and I would be aware of the anointing that our God and Father has smeared on us that identifies us as His beloved sons and daughters. May each one of us have the confidence to know that we are not walking alone in this life, but the anointing will lead us and teach us everything we need to know.

Promise #77:
If you live in My secret place, you will find rest under My shadow.

Psalm 91:1 (WEB)
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

The New Living Translation says Psalm 91:1 this way... Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. (NLT) For anyone who struggles with fear, I would recommend reading Psalm 91 over and over again. It is a psalm that will bring reassurance to a troubled heart.

Today's promise speaks of a resting place in the heart of God that every believer has access to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. It is called the secret place of the most High, the shadow of the Almighty. In this place, we are completely safe and secure. Nothing can harm us there! What a picture of God's protection and His care!

Verse 4 goes on to say that our God will cover us with His feathers and provide shelter for us under His wings. When I think of this picture, I imagine a mother eagle hovering over her little eaglets, sheltering them in their nest from anything that would bring them harm or make them feel distressed.

My prayer today is that each and every one of us would find the secret place of the living God and make our home there all the days of our lives. Can you imagine what life could look like if we could live there every minute of every day?

I believe that this is not a physical location, but rather a posture of our heart. May each one of us enjoy all the tangible benefits of living in the shadow of our Heavenly Dad right now.

Promise #78:
I will give you My strength to help you stand in high places.

2 Samuel 22:33-34 (WEB)
33 God is my strong fortress. He makes my way perfect.
34 He makes his feet like hinds’ feet, and sets me on my high places.

In today's promise, we read of King David's declaration of God's faithfulness after he was delivered from the murderous pursuit of his father-in-law, King Saul. He proclaims to everyone who will hear, that God is his strength and power and makes his feet sturdy, like the sure footing of the deer who climb the mountaintops.

The Amplified Bible says 2 Samuel 22:33-34 this way... 33 God is my strong Fortress; He guides the blameless in His way and sets him free.34 He makes my feet like the hinds' [firm and able]; He sets me secure and confident upon the heights. (AMP)

With God on our side, we are able to climb to great heights knowing that He will help us stand firm in the highest of places. We have nothing to fear. He is able to keep us from falling. May our God and Father strengthen you and give you the sure footing you need today, no matter what obstacles you face, so you can reach great heights in His loving care.

Promise #79:
Thousands may fall around you, but you will not be harmed.

Psalm 91:7 (WEB)
A thousand may fall at your side,and ten thousand at your right hand;
but it will not come near you.

Psalm 91 is a powerful declaration of the safety and shelter that you and I can live in knowing that we are living under the constant care of Almighty God. In today's promise, the psalmist tells us that we can live in a state of safety in even the most stressful of circumstances.

Can you imagine living in such a place of security and protection that you could feel safe from harm though thousands were falling around you? I personally struggle at the thought of what it would feel like to be surrounded by such distress but yet feel completely protected. However, the psalmist tells us that those who live under the shadow of the Almighty can expect such safety.

While this illustration might be a little extreme for daily life as we know it, try to imagine how this might apply to your every day life situation. Maybe you work in the middle of a busy office filled with loads of anxiety and stress-filled people?

Though others are not coping around you, could you see yourself as being completely and absolutely insulated from the fear and anxiety that others are experiencing simply because you have made God your dwelling place? My prayer for each one of us today is that the answer is ...YES!

Though the world around us may be coming unglued at the seams, may it not come close to us because we have the safety and security of being absolutely convinced that we are loved and protected by the One who created the heavens and the earth.

Promise #80:
I provide food for the hungry and justice for the oppressed.

Psalm 146:7 (WEB)
who executes justice for the oppressed;
who gives food to the hungry.

Our God is good. He has a heart of compassion for the marginalized, the oppressed and all who need His help. As we read in 1 Corinthians 13:6 describing the character and nature of love from the Amplified Bible .. It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. (AMP)

It is frustrating to see evil prevail around us. I think God has placed something in the human heart that longs to see justice for the oppressed. Be encouraged in knowing that this desire comes from God because our Father does not rejoice in evil, but He always rejoices when justice wins out.

Today's promise simply reminds us that our God is for the underdog and the hurting. We read in 1 Corinthians 1:26-29 how He has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the strong, the poor of this world over the rich, and the foolish things of the world to shame the wise.

No matter what injustice you are facing today personally or what injustice you see around you, be comforted in knowing that our Father understands and He rejoices when justice wins out.

Promise #81:
My divine power will give you all you need to live a good life.

2 Peter 1:3 (WEB)
seeing that his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness,
through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue;

I really appreciate how the New Living Translation expresses 2 Peter 1:3... By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. (NLT)

Because of His amazing love, God has equipped you with His own power so that you will have everything that you need to live a godly life. When God says everything, He means everything! Christ in you, the hope of glory will overcome every challenge that you are currently facing.

No matter how difficult your circumstances, God will empower you with His own divine power! As the Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 8:31 ...if God is for you, who can possibly stand against you? My prayer today is that each one of us would realize that whatever God has called us to do, He will give us the power to accomplish it.

We have all that we need in every circumstance because of His great and precious promise to empower us to live a full and good, godly life.

Promise #82:
My mercy will overrule judgment.

James 2:13 (WEB)
For judgment is without mercy to him who has shown no mercy.
Mercy triumphs over judgment.

The Message Bible says... Kind mercy wins over harsh judgment every time. The law of mercy and grace actually overrules the law of judgment. I don't know how you feel when you think about this promise, but I am thankful to God that His mercy does indeed win the day!

I am so glad that my God and Father does not treat me as my sins deserve, but is rich in His mercy towards me. Every day I get to experience His new mercies! (Lamentations 3:22-23) In Matthew 5:7, Jesus tells us Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. (KJV)

I am painfully aware that in my own life, I need all the mercy that I can get. So if I want mercy for myself, I better be a dispenser of mercy to everyone I meet too! God loves mercy and He loves it when His kids are mercy-full. My prayer is that we would be a people who continue to walk in the amazing love and mercy that God bestows on us, so that we can be a vessel of His mercy to others.

May we actually love showing mercy (Micah 6:8) to those who don't deserve it and be an expression of our heavenly Dad's mercy to all those we meet. (Luke 6:36) ...Even to those drivers who may cut off us on the highway! :)

The mercy of our God and Father will triumph over every form of judgment in your own life. Believe it. Receive it. Love it... and give it away!

Promise #83:
I will cause all things to ultimately work for your good.

Romans 8:28 (WEB)
We know that all things work together for good for those who love God,
to those who are called according to his purpose.

This Bible verse has brought comfort to a countless number of people throughout the years. It is very reassuring to know that no matter what happens in our life, our God and Father is able to cause all things to work together for our good.

Of course this does not mean that everything that happens in our life is good, because we know that is simply not the case. We live in a fallen world where bad things happen to good people. Nevertheless, our God is able to redeem even the most difficult of situations and somehow, some way, He promises to ultimately work all things for our good.

We might not see the 'good' that He has in store for us immediately, but be assured that from God's eternal perspective, His heart is for your best interest in the long run. May this promise of our Papa's plan for a bright future encourage you in the midst of any hardships that you are facing today.

Promise #84:
Humble yourself before Me and in time I will exalt you.

1 Peter 5:6 (WEB)
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God,
that he may exalt you in due time;

Today's promise simply encourages us to walk in humility. God loves it when we embrace humility because when we are truly humble, we are just like Him! Jesus told us that the greatest in the kingdom is the servant of all (Matthew 23:11). Who is the greatest in the kingdom but our Father? That means that He carries within Himself the heart of a servant.

When we choose to humble ourselves, He is so delighted that He is the One who lifts us up! We don't have to fight and strive for our position in the kingdom because our Father will exalt us at just the right time. I remember a few years back I went to a very large church meeting and I felt the Lord directed me to sit on the very last row at the back of the church. He told me to literally take the lowest seat in the building, so I did.

Just before the meeting began, a man came up to my wife and I and ushered us to the very front of the building and we got the best seats in the house! The Lord then reminded me of His encouragement for us to take the lowest seat (Luke 14:8-10) so that we can then be re-assigned to a better seat if the opportunity arises.

Our Papa loves it when we embrace true humility (not false humility) and trust Him to exalt us in due time. My prayer for each one of us today is that we would see the incredible benefits of walking with a humble heart in our Father's kingdom.

Promise #86:
Never tire of doing good, for in time you will reap a harvest.

Galatians 6:9 (WEB)
Let us not be weary in doing good,
for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up.

Sometimes when I go on a ministry trip, I can get tired. Even though I love what I am doing, the rigors of travel, different places to sleep, meeting new people, etc. can get very tiring. In today's promise we read that we should never tire of doing good. This doesn't mean that we never get tired in the natural, but it does mean that we should never lose heart and give up.

The Amplified Bible translates Galatians 6:9 this way... And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint. (AMP)

In 1 Corinthians 13:13, Paul the Apostle tells us that faith, hope and love remain. Today's promise is about encouraging us to be strengthened with hope. Hope that there is a harvest that we will one day reap if we do not give up. God loves it when we do good to one another.

May you and I have strength today to continue to do good to those around us and may we be encouraged to know that there is a real harvest that we will reap if we don't give up.

Promise #87:
An eternal crown awaits you at the finish line, so keep running your race.

1 Corinthians 9:24-25 (WEB)
24 Don’t you know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run like that, that you may win. 25 Every man who strives in the games exercises self-control in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible.

We are all called to run our own unique race. In Hebrews 12:1-2, the writer encourages us to fix our eyes on Jesus as we run the unique race set out for us. We are called to throw off everything that hinders us and the sin that can so easily trip us up and run our race with perseverance.

It is interesting to note that your race is different from my race. I can't run your race and you can't run mine. We can only be ourselves and fulfill the destiny that God has for each one of us. The encouragement for today is knowing that an eternal crown awaits each one of us at our finish line. There is not a solitary crown given to the fastest runner, or the runner with the most endurance, but for everyone who finishes!

It is amazing to think of our Heavenly Dad's heart where everyone gets a prize! No one is left out. So keep running your race. Don't stop. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, who is waiting at the end of your running lane ready to present you with a crown of glory that will last forever!

Promise #88:
I prepared a kingdom inheritance for you when I created the world.

Matthew 25:34 (WEB)
Then the King will tell those on his right hand, ‘Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;

In today's promise, Jesus is telling a story about sheep and goats where the sheep (those who are in Christ) will be welcomed into the everlasting kingdom of our God and Father on that great day. Jesus tells us that the kingdom that we will inherit was prepared for us from the foundation of the world.

You and I may not have a substantial inheritance on this side of heaven from our earthly parents, but when we finish our race and are welcomed into the dwelling place of our God and Father, we will have an everlasting kingdom inheritance waiting for us.

May the reality of this promise encourage each one of us today. We are not poor in the sight of the living God, but are richer than any one of us could possibly imagine. Because we are sons and daughters to our Heavenly Dad... because we are joint-heirs with Jesus (our Elder Brother) ... because we are the temple of the Holy Spirit... we have an everlasting kingdom inheritance waiting for us. Hallelujah!!!!

Promise #89:
It is precious for Me to see My faithful ones come home.

Psalm 116:15 (WEB)
Precious in the sight of Yahweh
is the death of his saints.

We have all experienced the loss of a loved one. We ourselves will one day experience this ultimate transition to glory if Jesus tarries. The Amplified Bible translates Psalm 116:15 this way... Precious (important and no light matter) in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints (His loving ones). (AMP)

Whenever one of our Father's much loved ones come home, it is a very precious and holy time to God. As the Amplified Bible says, it is important and no light matter. My prayer is that this simple yet profound promise of our importance to God will bring much comfort and hope.

The hope of eternal life living in the presence of a loving God and Father is our destiny. It is our birthright because of the finished work of Jesus Christ. We do not have to fear death because we have this hope. May today's promise bring comfort to us for those who we have lost and peace to us to know that it is a precious time in the sight of our God when we will finally be home.

One day, our God and Father will wipe away every tear from our eye and take away all the pain we have suffered on this earth. (Revelation 21:4) This is the hope that we all have in Christ.

Promise #90:
I will not forget My promises because I am a merciful God.

Deuteronomy 4:31 (WEB)
for Yahweh your God is a merciful God; he will not fail you, neither destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which he swore to them.

Our God is a merciful God. He is full of compassion and love towards us. In today's promise, He tells Israel that He will never forsake them or hurt them or forget the promises He made to their forefathers. Our God is the ultimate promise keeper. He remembers every promise that He has made and He is faithful to keep all that He has promised.

The enemy of our soul would want us to think otherwise. He has always been lying about the character and nature of God and will continue to do so because Jesus called him the father of lies (John 8:44). May we all be reminded today that God is faithful to do everything that He has promised for us. Not one of the promises that He has made will ever fail us for He is good and His mercy endures forever (1 Chronicles 16:34).

My prayer today is that each one of us would choose to believe that God is who He says He is and we are who He says we are! May faith rise up within our hearts today and cry out to God... Lord I believe that you are a merciful God who keeps all His promises!

Promise #91:
My kingdom is everlasting and My dominion will endure forever.

Psalm 145:13 (WEB)
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom.
Your dominion endures throughout all generations.
Yahweh is faithful in all his words,
and loving in all his deeds.

The kingdoms of this world will not last forever. Even some of the most long standing empires that spanned immense territories eventually faltered and faded away. No matter how great the king, no matter how vast their armies, every kingdom has a beginning and an end.

The hope that we have in Christ is that we are destined for a kingdom that will last forever! It is an unshakeable kingdom, ruled by the most loving King! The kingdoms of this world can at times intimidate, but be of good cheer because our Elder Brother, Jesus Christ has overcome the world and all its systems.

My prayer today is that each and every one of us would set our affections on things above and not on things of this earth (Colossians 3:2). While the kingdoms of this world may compete for our attention, we belong to another kingdom where our God and Father reigns and His dominion will endure forever!

Promise #92:
My eternal Word is anchored in the heavens.

Psalm 119:89 (WEB)
Yahweh, your word is settled in heaven forever.

The NIV Bible translates today's Bible verse this way... Your word, LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens. The English Standard Version translates it... Forever, O LORD, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens. Whatever translation you prefer, the message is the same. God's Word is firmly fixed and settled in heaven forever.

God is not a man that He should lie. His Word is His bond and it is anchored in heaven itself. Whenever circumstances come in direct opposition to God's Word, agree with God and believe His Word. Whenever your emotions shout out something about yourself other than what God says about you, agree with God and believe His Word.

He is the same yesterday, today and forever and His Word is a constant that we can rely in our daily life. May faith rise up in our hearts today so that we will simply take God at His Word and cry out "I believe!".
