That's a good question. I think the short answer would be for God's good pleasure. But I'm sure we can come up with more details.
I like this one:
He created people out of love for the purpose of sharing love. People were created to love God and each other. Additionally, when God created people, he gave them good work to do so that they might experience God's goodness and reflect his image in the way they care for the world and for each other.

Welcome brother good to have you here. What I want to know is why Christians know Christ and God so little. I understand why the unregenerate man flounders in uncertainty, but why is it that the one creation of God who was created in His image knows very little about his Creator?
I think it boils down to one sentence: We do not allow God to be Himself. Hopefully this thread for allow us to do that and He can show us why we are here.

The purpose of man
Man was created to honor and glorify God !
1 Corinthians 6:19-20

The main reason, I believe, is to know Him and love Him and have fellowship with Him. My bible says, “This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins” 1 John 4:10
A little further on in 1 John chapter 4 tells us this:
We love him, because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19

Why Are We Here?
Matt 13:29 ‘No,’ he said, ‘if you pull the weeds now, you might uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat into my barn.’ ”
The reprobate people of the evil one and the sinful people of HIS kingdom, Matt 13:38, must grow together until the time of the harvest. What is HIS purpose in arranging our lives like this?
Since our redemption is completed in Christ and Him only, this arrangement must be to facilitate our sanctification, the training of HIS legitimate children in holy righteousness, Heb 12:5-11.
This is supported by the meaning of the word harvest as the time of the maturity of the wheat and the only maturity that saves any sinner from the effects of the judgement is holiness, a pure and perfect accord with YHWH and HIS plans to cleanse all evil from this reality. The harvest separates the good people from the evil people but not until the good people are mature. In other words, personal sanctification and holiness does not allow the judgment to proceed but only the full sanctification and holiness of each and every one of HIS sinful people! Every single one of HIS sheep who went astray into sin must be returned to HIM BEFORE the judgement may proceed without damage to them...
So we ask: what is it about the relationship of the good seed to the reprobate weeds that must change before the people of the evil one can be gathered and condemned? To my mind, it is the understanding by the good seed of the eternal evil nature of the reprobate, that they cannot be redeemed! No need to lament their self chosen fate; no need to blame GOD for their destruction.
Before that terrible day of the LORD can come, we must be fully in accord with their condemnation to hell as an absolute necessity to deal with their absolute evil, an evil they chose against all HIS warnings about the fate they were choosing.
This is why living godly holy lives speeds up this coming of the Day of our LORD:
2 Peter 3:11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and speeding the coming of the day of GOD.

We were all children of darkness prior to salvation and as Paul says children of wrath just like them.

I understand you read the BibLe this way but I do not: I find this parable and its EXPLANATION tells us of a difference between the reprobate and the sinful people of HIS kingdom.
The reprobate are those condemned already, as never believing, Jn 3:18, who were never HIS people. The sinful people of HIS kingdom are those who put their faith in HIM but then rebelled and went astray into sin, never condemned but forced to live with the reprobate until they changed their minds about their relationship with HIM and return to Him.
Sheep and sinful good seeds are never condemned;
the weeds and goats are condemned already and hell is prepared for them.
I suggest that His sheep are not repentant goats.
The good seed are not repentant weeds.
As per Esau, the wicked have no room for any repentance to be able to come to be sheep or good seed to be able to inherit His kingdom:
Heb. 12:17 “For you know that even afterward, when he [Esau] desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought for it with tears.”
Children of darkness means sinful while children of wrath means subject to damnation...which is never counted for those with faith (believers) who then choose to sin, Jn 3:18.
