What is the essence of sin?

Before the age of accountability, a child does not sin. Before that, there is nothing the child does that is counted as sin.

Paul said clearly that he was afforded grace because he sinned in the ignorance of unbelief.

1Ti 1:13 though formerly I was a blasphemer, persecutor, and insolent opponent. But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief,

Accountability is relative to understanding. There is no context of age.

Every man is judged by what they do with the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

What you said is pure gibberish!

Not at all. Satan existed before Adam. Satan fell before the creation of Adam. Jesus talked about this in

Luk 10:18 And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

Was Satan the serpent that deceived Eve?

Also. It is my experience that most everyone prefers to blame their sin on Adam. At the very least, they believe that they wouldn't have sinned if were not for Adam.

Such nonsense doesn't create culpability for sin in the individual like it should. I actually see sin worse than most people do. My sins are of my own making. They still are.

What, then, is the essence of sin? Sin has three chief aspects: breach of law, violation of relationships with people and things protected by the law, and rebellion against God. The essence of sin, therefore, is not a substance but a relationship of opposition. Sin opposes God's law and his created beings. Sin hates rather than loves, it doubts or contradicts rather than trusts and affirms, it harms and abuses rather than helps and respects.

But sin is also a condition. The Bible teaches that there are lies and liars, sins and sinners. People can be "filled" (meaning "controlled") by hypocrisy and lawlessness ( Matt 23:28 ). God "gives some over to sin, " allowing them to wallow in every kind of wickedness ( Rom 1:18-32 ). Paul, speaking of the time before their conversion, told the Ephesians, "You were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live" ( 2:1-2 ).

You are right.

Sin is what is contrary to God’s character traits, such as with unrighteousness being sin, and sin is the transgression of the Mosaic Law because it was graciously given in order to teach us how to be a doer of God’s character traits.

this body and earth and sky = sin

prophets say He will destroy this earth and its sky.

the sun will go dark.

That is pure Gnosticism. And it is wrong!
I am no gnostic.

but I won't create an encyclopedia (for others
to ignore anyway and not bother to
really read) in order to explain why...
I don't need to justify me... and only Christ
will judge me, not you okay...

suffice that the opinions of the tenets of it
are a mess, just as are most of the denominations
and sects today, a mess, including evangelicalism
and most protestantism...

the entire training christians receive on this
gnostic view (either for or against)
came straight from rcc... it spent much
time in the early days, seeking out heretics
...something Christ our deity Himself
did not do while on this earth = witchhunts.
Although the pharisees certainly did, getting
the crowds to agree to his Murder.

gnosticism is essentially a very devious platonism..
and platonism is pythagorean Egyptian religion...
God's stated enemy. And yes, they have given
christianity talking points, through those RCC
councils and Augustine's establishment of
the correct dogma all set up early on,
which most if not all modern christianity follow.

So no, I am not and no, my previous posts are not
gnostic, and I could prove it but won't, reasons above.

Because proving it would take time and energy...
and would involve caring enough to learn
what really happened to us.

the vatican theologians defined the world as a system of sin..
and not using the basic meaning which is and was -- this physical earth
and these bodies which lust, which listen to other needs and wants
rather than listen to God..

SIN nature is the nature here around us, death, where everything dies..
and we have been here since after the fall, because of Adam
betraying God.

The nature here, of death and dying is NOT God's type of nature
for us created for us in Eden.

oh... and given male was the covering and protector
of both eden and eve ,
then the constant bullying 'that eve
is the cause of all woes' is wrong..

adam did not do his job. the command from God was to adam..
and he disobeyed God.

adam was the one with authority and the one who did not obey...
and no that does not mean that eve did not sin...
simply that adam is the culprit.

as for gnostic... it's an ad hom but I
understand after 1000s of years of bullying
it is hard for many to be willing to
investigate the matter properly
instead of listen to RCC, which is the root place
all protestantism received its canons and its councils
and all the other nonsense which is not
part of what God ever said .
but , which was never reformed...
