Where in the Bible Does it Say Jesus is God

The Bible explicitly states that Jesus is God in several passages. John 1:1 declares, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Colossians 2:9 affirms, “For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.”

In John 10:30, Jesus says, “I and My Father are one,” indicating His divine nature. Additionally, Titus 2:13 refers to Jesus as “our great God and Savior,” and Hebrews 1:8 quotes God addressing the Son, saying, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever.”

The following are 11 key verses that will give you more insights into scriptures that back up the truth that the Lord Jesus Christ is one with God:

John 8:58,
- Jesus said to them, Verily, verily, verily, I say unto you, before Abraham was I AM

Exact same as Exodus 3:14. They are word for word.
Jesus 'grammar is unusual here. Showing He was referring to Himself as God.
His listeners understood what He said.
- and God said unto Moses I AM THAT I AM He said, thou shalt thou say unto the children of Israel I AM hath sent me unto you

John 8:59,
- then they took up stones to cast at Him but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple going through the midst of them and so passed by

The NT interprets the OT

Jesus is the Lord in Joel, Isaiah and Jeremiah

John 12:41

These things Isaiah said, because he saw His glory, and he spoke of Him

Isaiah 6:1-5

In the year of King, Uzziah's death, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple. 2 Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings; with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one called out to another and said,

"Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts,,

The whole earth is full of His glory."

4 And the foundations of the thresholds trembled at the voice of him who called out, while the temple was filling with smoke. 5 Then I said,

"Woe is me, for I am ruined!,

Because I am a man of unclean lips,

And I live among a people of unclean lips;,

For my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty.

One need only follow the pronouns and the verbs. Isaiah saw the glory of YHWH. There is only ONE time that Isaiah saw the glory of YHWH; its in Ish 6. John says that Isaiah saw "his" glory, the glory of Jesus. That Isaiah ALSO foretold the suffering and rejection of Christ is true but irrelevant. You are confusing what Isaiah foretold (Christ's suffering and rejection) with what he literally "saw" (the glory of YWHW).

The verb Isaiah used for "saw" in 6;1 is רָאָה ("ra'ah"). In the qal, it refers to the act of seeing in the literal sense, to see with the eyes (as opposed to, for example, מַחֲזֶה "machazeh", which is the act or event of an ecstatic "vision"). In referring to this event, John uses the Greek word εἶδον ("eidon") - also a verb referring to the act of seeing with the eyes in the natural sense.

We know that God the Father is invisible, "whom no man hath seen, nor can see" (1 Tim 6:16). He is transcendent and lives in unapproachable light (1 Tim 6:16). But the Son is "the image of the invisible God" (Col 1:15). Thus the one whom Isaiah "saw" in the literal sense with his eyes is the one whom he explicitly identified as "YHWH" - the same one whose glory he saw according to John (Jn 12:41). Jesus himself makes this clear at v.45 "And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me."

There is only ONE time when Isaiah saw someone he, speaking by the Holy Spirit identified as "YHWH", and John's spirit-inspired narrative of the interactions of Jesus with the Jews in the 11th and 12th chapter of his gospel, including their rejection of Christ, says that what Isaiah saw was HIS (ie Jesus') glory. This works in perfect harmony with John's whole purpose, given the FACT that John had previously identified the one who became flesh and dwelt among us (Jn 1:14) as "God" (Jn 1:1). Nowhere in the context of this narrative (ie Ch 12) does John speak of Christ's "glorification" in his rejection and crucifixion. To claim that this is what John was talking about in referring to what Isaiah SAW with his eyes ignores the grammar and the immediate context, including the clear and unmistakable words of Christ himself in that very context.

And there are plenty more passages declaring the Son is YHWH.

Joel 2:27-32
27 "Thus you will know that I am in the midst of Israel,

And that I am the Lord your God,

And there is no other;

And My people will never be put to shame.

28 " It will come about after this

That I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind;

And your sons and daughters will prophesy,

Your old men will dream dreams,

Your young men will see visions.

29 "Even on the male and female servants

I will pour out My Spirit in those days.

30 "I will display wonders in the sky and on the earth,

Blood, fire and columns of smoke.

31 "The sun will be turned into darkness

And the moon into blood

Before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes.

32 "And it will come about that whoever calls on the name of the Lord

Will be delivered;

For on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem

There will be those who escape,

As the Lord has said,

Even among the survivors whom the Lord calls.

Rom 10:9-13
9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, "WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED." 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; 13 for "WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED."

Isa 45:21-24
Is it not I, the Lord?
And there is no other God besides Me,
A righteous God and a Savior;
There is none except Me.
22 " Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth;
For I am God, and there is no other.
23 "I have sworn by Myself,
The word has gone forth from My mouth in righteousness
And will not turn back,
That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance.
24 "They will say of Me, 'Only in the Lord are righteousness and strength.'

Phil 2:9-11
For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Rom 14:10-12
For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. 11 For it is written,

" AS I LIVE, SAYS THE LORD, EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW TO ME,

AND EVERY TONGUE SHALL GIVE PRAISE TO GOD."

12 So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God.

1 Cor 2:8-9
the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it they would not have crucified the Lord of glory

Jeremiah 17:10 the Lord says

"I the LORD search the heart, I test the mind. Even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings"

In Revelation 2:23 Jesus says
"I am He who searches the minds and hearts and I will give to each one of you according to your works"

So if Jesus is not God why would he claim to do something in Revelation that Yahweh claimed in Jeremiah?

So is it Yahweh or Jesus who searches hearts and minds?

The only name that can possibly be above all names is the name of YHWH. Even Non trinitarians are forced to agree with this one due to the fact that their own theology acknowledges that YHWH is greater in nature than Jesus. This means that Jesus shares the personal name and authority of YHWH, making Him God as no one can be equal to God except God alone.

Conclusion: Unitarianism is defeated and proven to be false doctrine.

hope this helps !!!

Down goes Unitarian doctrine , it’s the teachings of man.

No exceptions meaning everything created

Was done by Him and for Him. This includes the angels which Christ created and whom also worship Him now in heaven(see Rev 5).

Col 1:16-17
For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities — all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

We see above that creation of all things(panta- no exceptions and is all inclusive) were made by Him and solely for Him. They were created for His good pleasure. And without Him nothing was made that was made(see John 1:1-3).

Also since we see He is before all things created then logic and reason dictates that He is Eternal and not part of any creation. He is distinct and separate from created as the Creator.

Here we see that Paul completely exhausts the creation categories:

1)all things created
2)things in heaven
3)things in the earth
4) things visible
5)things invisible
6)thrones,dominions,rulers,authorities
7)the above mentioned things rule out any exceptions

Now we also see from the Apostle Paul that He(Christ) is BEFORE all things and that all things in Him subsist or are held together.

Now tell me Who other than the Almighty God known as YHWH is before all things, created all things and holds the very universe together?

The answer none but God. And Paul tells us in the context that Jesus is the very image of the invisible God. He made the unknown known, the invisible God became visible in the flesh. This is the Incarnation where we see in Christ God was manifest in the flesh. God became man as John's prologue so eloquently spells out in verses 1-18.

Angels were created as per Colossians 1:16-17 below who are the created angels , the principalities and powers with rank and order below. And we know only God created them and has the power over them. And Christ is God, their Creator who rules over them.

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Ephesians 1:20-21
which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

Ephesians 3:10
To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

The angels are His to command.

Matt 13:41
41
"The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness,

Matt 24:30-31
30
"And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory. 31"And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET and THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.

Matt 25:31-33
31
"But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. 32"All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; 33and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left.

2 Thess 1:7
when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire,

1 Tim 5:21
I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus and of His chosen angels, to maintain these principles without bias, doing nothing in a spirit of partiality.

Heb 1:6
He says,
"AND LET ALL THE ANGELS OF GOD WORSHIP HIM."

Rev 5:11-12
11
Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands, 12saying with a loud voice,
"Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing."

The four living creatures said, "Amen," and the elders fell down and worshiped.

So can you like the Author of Hebrews, Paul, Thomas, Peter and John confess Jesus is your God, your Creator?

Come one, come all.

Let's make this a well stocked supply of all verses from the Holy Bible confirming Jesus is, indeed God.

Let's set this baby to rest once and for all.
The Greek word ἐσκήνωσεν in John 1:14 literally means “pitched a tent” or “tabernacled” among us. This term directly connects to the Old Testament, where God manifested His presence through the physical Tabernacle.

In the Old Testament, the Tabernacle was the visible and tangible dwelling place of God's Glory among His people. It was through this sacred structure that God communicated and revealed Himself.

John draws a powerful parallel: just as God dwelled in the Tabernacle, He now dwells among us in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the new and greater Tabernacle, the visible manifestation of the invisible God. John affirms this when he writes, “We beheld His glory…”—the same divine glory that once filled the Tabernacle is now fully revealed in the person of Christ.

@FreeInChrist

One reason I offered to debate those four people: @Keiw1 @Runningman @Studyman @Peterlag. Only @Peterlag stepped up, the rest, well just as I suspected, refused to do so, proving they have no confidence in what they are saying.
Uhhh, no. I am pretty sure the Admin has already been asked and they said it needs to be kept even. Right now it is 1 v 1 as far as I understand. I also might add it's fairly wreckless that you would enter in a debate on a subject without any proof.

This is the name of the section

This section Will have threads of one-on-one debates that will be read only except for the two debaters.

I am not in the debate. I AM volunteer traffic control

I told RB to contact the 2nd person for his side and issue a formal invite.

If @Red Baker wants me to invite them for him I will but he has to tell me.

You did not see my proof did you?

Good.... hilarious.gif

Why do you not join us and see just how unprepared I may be, you talk big, petty you have a very small bite.

Join and I'll ask @FreeInChrist, she's woman with the spirit of two men. Also, she's old, like me, but pretty sure she would wear you down with more than you can handle.

I have regularly called all of you out in my threads. I don't want just 2 or 3 of you, I want thosuands of you coming at me. I want the pew sittiers, I want the doctorates, I want the old men who think they know something. Come on! More the merrier. Read some of my threads and get an idea of how impotent the trinitarian is against Scripture.

Also, I might add, I have prayed for a showdown. Not to test God, but I think it would help you people see how there is no one there helping you. My God against your god. Moses versus Pharaoh. May God's will be done.

Really Runningman? From what I've seen, you haven't dismantled/disproved anything of the teaching of a Triune God.

You've been bouncing over the surface of scripture without seeing the depths of it.

For eg..Jesus saying the Father is 'greater than I'

Isn't to do with inferiority or not God verses God.. because the context isn't about that.

But anyways.. I don't wanna do a debate because I don't know debating terms or technical names of arguments. So I could lose a debate not because I don't know the truth but because I don't know rules of debating.
