'For this ye know,
that no whoremonger,
nor unclean person,
nor covetous man, who is an idolater,
hath any inheritance
in the kingdom of Christ and of God.'

(Eph 5:5)

Hello there,

I find the very title of a thread which challenges the deity of Christ highly offensive. So, though there are several devoted to this subject, I did not want to enter my small offering in any of them.

Today, while looking up a verse in the book, 'Figures of Speech Used in The Bible', I saw what is said there in relation to Ephesians 5:5 (quoted above). In it is a figure of speech called 'hendiadys', where two words are used by only one thing meant: and in this verse, the highlighted words should be read as follows:- 'the kingdom of Christ, yes, of Christ Who is truly God.'

Praise God!

Scripture teaches that the kingdom also belongs to the saints of God. Jesus and the other saints will be jointly possessing their kingdom and serving God while they do it. Thank you for opening this topic so we can add more Scripture to clarify that the kingdom of God doesn't only belong to God, but also Jesus and the other saints.

So the saints who possess the kingdom of God and wield sovereignty/dominion over it are not God. Therefore Jesus is also not God.

Daniel 7
18But the saints of the Most High will receive the kingdom and possess it forever—yes, forever and ever.’
22until the Ancient of Days arrived and pronounced judgment in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for them to possess the kingdom.
27Then the sovereignty, dominion, and greatness of the kingdoms under all of heaven will be given to the people, the saints of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will serve and obey Him.’
