I'm actually appalled by some of the ignorant adolescent-level misrepresentations of monergism on here.

"God zaps belief into you."
"That means you're a robot."

This is the kind of behavior I'd expect from an ignorant rebellious teenager, not mature Christians discussing scripture. Okay, you don't believe in monergism. You don't have to stoop to these levels of discussion to say so.

It’s called determinism or fatalism. The dead have no choice. It’s unbiblical and a robot or puppet describes what happens since it’s all been preprogrammed to happen by God. Even MacArthur admits it’s programmed.

It's called a non-sequitur, and an immature one, at that.

Quite frankly I don't see anything so offensive in what that poster stated. I'm sorry but I think you're just dishing out feigned upsetness. When they're saying God zaps a belief in you they're just saying you believe God imparts believing in you.....seeing you'd say it would be by God's power so what's the difference? It basically does describe what you really believe.

And sorry RT but Calvinists do want to silence the voice of others who would claim their beliefs leave men mere automations. Or robotic in nature. You insist on everything to be defined in your terms to cushion the impact that it is a robotic thing you believe. People do have a right though to have it considered that when one takes the wraps off of what you're saying it truly is making MAN a mere automation....or robotic in nature.

I agree with your thoughts here

So how can you say with any credibility that doesn't make one a puppet or robotic.

What is a puppet? One of whose every action is being controlled by the pulling on of strings. Can a puppet make it's own movements outside of the puppeteer? No. Now look at your NO above. Why is it any different?

Now if you're going to believe mankind is merely a puppet then say it. But don't believe it and do everything you can to try to deny that's what you believe.

That is what some Calvinist present. Some are more advanced. They will throw building blocks at you if you don't agree.......

Relationships are never one sided. Never. That is the "hallmark" of childishness. God is not a petulant child that has to do everything Himself.

Relationships/love is a 2 way street or you have abuse, slavery, dictatorship etc..... the very definition of unloving.

Christ merited the love of God. Worthy is the Lamb..... that will be our praise throughout the endless ages. WORTHY.

In the Calvinist system.... "men" are WORTHY of the choices of God.

What choice does God make that doesn't have innate worth? God's choices are valuable. Worthy. Merited by something. Based upon things that are GOOD... and PURE... and Worthy of praise.

The Calvinist seeks praise for himself. Even when the Calvinist attempts "praise God" it turns into the prayer of the Pharisee.....

Luk 18:9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
Luk 18:10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
Luk 18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
Luk 18:12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
Luk 18:13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
Luk 18:14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
