' I considered the horns, and, behold,
there came up among them another little horn,
before whom there were three of the first horns
plucked up by the roots:
and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man,
and a mouth speaking great things.'
(Dan 7:8)
Hello there,
* I have quoted the above responses that I have received, concerning the events taking place in the middle east currently, in order to prompt discussion on it here. 'Marlyn', who kindly made those comments in response to questions I asked of her, has an interesting blog on the subject in the 'Worthy' Christian website.
Thank you

Hello there,
---------------------------... Russia has actually not left its port or airbase in Syria. They are holding talks with the `rebels` and obviously want to maintain relations there.
Russia has been training North African nations in the military. The Ethiopians wanted to join the Russia - Ukraine war but Russia did not need them then. However, as their army loses great numbers, they will change their mind and I believe, accept the Ethiopians into their army.
But a few events have to happen first before the great army from the north comes down to the Golan heights.
To understand what is happening in the Middle East we need to know the two factions of Islam - Shia and Sunni. Shia believe their leader needs to be a descendant of Mohammed while the Sunni group believe that a good leader is what they need.
These two groups have been fighting for centuries. Don`t know if you remember the Iraq/Iran 7 year war a while back. Then recently we have Iran (Shia) feeding its proxies, (Hezbollah and Hamas) weapons through Syria to attack Israel. Now that is closed somewhat, and a Sunni leader has taken charge in Syria.
This Sunni leader is called a rebel by the West because he had connections to ISIS. However, he has separated from them and now desires to have legitimacy. Thus, he wears a suit and is getting the country up and running. The West will be watching to see how he treats other groups. Eventually his Sunni group will be accepted by the West.
This is relevant for the 3 nations of Iraq, Syria and Jordan, (Old Assyria, the Levant) will make a peace treaty with Israel after the Russian Federation etc get their army nearly wiped out in the Golan heights.
The one who will make the Peace Treaty with Israel is a Sunni from Iraq and thus the others will also be Sunni Islam.
These three, Iraq, Syria and Jordan, are the three `horns pulled up by their roots. `(Dan. 7: 8)
meaning that the Peace Maker (A/C) will have those 3 nations backing him
and put an end to their division by France and Britain.
That is why it is so important for Syria to have a Sunni leader,
so that he will join with the Peace Maker.
