Pleasing God has nothing to do with how one is saved ,Christ pleased God and that's how he saved those he died for. Do you believe a person is saved by pleasing God?
in his theology believers are nothing but robots that are preprogrammed by their maker to do everything that has been written in their design.
Huh I have the slightest idea what you are talking about. Christ Death redeemed them and justified them He died for and His resurrection causes them to be born again. He's a complete SaviorLike I said. You believe Christ could have just "showed up" and "died" and that saved you
Huh I have the slightest idea what you are talking about. Christ Death redeemed them and justified them He died for and His resurrection causes them to be born again. He's a complete Savior
I don't think you know what you talking about let alone meSure you do.
So why do you believe that God is pleased without faith?
Which is one of the MASSIVE PROBLEMS in the church!!! BIBLICAL Faith has a VERY Specific definition (Heb 11:1), and a VERY Specific source (Rom 10:17). I'm completely aware that the word "FAITH" is applied to any number of things that have nothing to do with Biblical FAITH. A "Denomination" is not a "FAITH" it's nothing but a Religious / Theological system which may or may not have any foundation in the truth. Mental assent is not FAITH, since it's based on nothing other that how you feel at the time, and has no substance you can rely on.That’s what I mean I’m using belief as a synonym for faith
The new birth precedes faith.following faith which precedes the new birth, being born again by the spirit of God. This faith comes after the hearing and believing/receiving of the gospel message about Christ.
hope this helps !!!

What you should do is not necessarily what you can do. You SHOULD obey the law perfectly. But can you?Read the verses. They did do these things at time
Not only did the verses show what they could do but in some instances what they did do
Things which Calvinism claims they could not do
Scripture shows what a man may do
Deuteronomy 30:11–20 (NASB95) — 11 “For this commandment which I command you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it out of reach. 12 “It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will go up to heaven for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?’ 13 “Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will cross the sea for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?’ 14 “But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may observe it. 15 “See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, and death and adversity; 16 in that I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, that you may live and multiply, and that the LORD your God may bless you in the land where you are entering to possess it. 17 “But if your heart turns away and you will not obey, but are drawn away and worship other gods and serve them, 18 I declare to you today that you shall surely perish. You will not prolong your days in the land where you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess it. 19 “I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants, 20 by loving the LORD your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for this is your life and the length of your days, that you may live in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”

Luke 11:28 (LEB) — 28 But he said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and follow it!”
Revelation 2:21–22 (LEB) — 21 And I have given her time in order to repent, and she did not want to repent from her sexual immorality. 22 Behold, I am throwing her into a sickbed and those who committed adultery with her into great affliction, unless they repent from her deeds.

Zechariah 1:6 (LEB) — 6 However, did not my words and my regulations which I commanded my servants the prophets overtake your ancestors? And they repented and said, ‘Yahweh of hosts planned to do with us according to our ways, and according to our deeds so he has dealt with us.’ ” ’ ”

We also will serve the LORD, for He is our God.” 19 Then Joshua said to the people, “You will not be able to serve the LORD, for He is a holy God. He is a jealous God; He will not forgive your transgression or your sins. 20 “If you forsake the LORD and serve foreign gods, then He will turn and do you harm and consume you after He has done good to you.” 21 The people said to Joshua, “No, but we will serve the LORD.” 22 Joshua said to the people, “You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen for yourselves the LORD, to serve Him.” And they said, “We are witnesses.” 23 “Now therefore, put away the foreign gods which are in your midst, and incline your hearts to the LORD, the God of Israel.” 24 The people said to Joshua, “We will serve the LORD our God and we will obey His voice.”
Note
Joshua 24:15–28 (NASB95) — 15 “If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” 16 The people answered and said, “Far be it from us that we should forsake the LORD to serve other gods; 17 for the LORD our God is He who brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and who did these great signs in our sight and preserved us through all the way in which we went and among all the peoples through whose midst we passed. 18 “The LORD drove out from before us all the peoples, even the Amorites who lived in the land. We also will serve the LORD, for He is our God.” 19 Then Joshua said to the people, “You will not be able to serve the LORD, for He is a holy God. He is a jealous God; He will not forgive your transgression or your sins. 20 “If you forsake the LORD and serve foreign gods, then He will turn and do you harm and consume you after He has done good to you.” 21 The people said to Joshua, “No, but we will serve the LORD.” 22 Joshua said to the people, “You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen for yourselves the LORD, to serve Him.” And they said, “We are witnesses.” 23 “Now therefore, put away the foreign gods which are in your midst, and incline your hearts to the LORD, the God of Israel.” 24 The people said to Joshua, “We will serve the LORD our God and we will obey His voice.” 25 So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and made for them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem. 26 And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God; and he took a large stone and set it up there under the oak that was by the sanctuary of the LORD. 27 Joshua said to all the people, “Behold, this stone shall be for a witness against us, for it has heard all the words of the LORD which He spoke to us; thus it shall be for a witness against you, so that you do not deny your God.” 28 Then Joshua dismissed the people, each to his inheritance.
Joshua 24:29–31 (NASB95) — 29 It came about after these things that Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being one hundred and ten years old. 30 And they buried him in the territory of his inheritance in Timnath-serah, which is in the hill country of Ephraim, on the north of Mount Gaash. 31 Israel served the LORD all the days of Joshua and all the days of the elders who survived Joshua, and had known all the deeds of the LORD which He had done for Israel.
Multiple things Calvinism has falsely claimed men cannot do
So you are in error once again.
You do know don't you? What you should do is not necessarily what you can do. You SHOULD obey the law perfectly. But can you?
So you do not believe scriptureDead things do not choose to live.
Never once in scriptureThe new birth precedes faith.
Correct.Never once in scripture
scripture overwhelmingly supports the new birth coming after faith. there is not a single passage they have to support the new birth coming before faith in the gospel message.Correct.
How can they ignore so much scripture?
John 7:38–39 (NASB 95) — 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’ ” 39 But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
Galatians 3:2 (NASB 95) — 2 This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?
Galatians 3:5 (NASB 95) — 5 So then, does He who provides you with the Spirit and works miracles among you, do it by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?
Galatians 3:14 (NASB 95) — 14 in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Ephesians 3:17–19 (NASB 95) — 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.
John 1:12–13 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
Gal 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
Finally those who do not believe will not see life
John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
John 3:18 The one who believes in him is not judged, but the one who does not believe has already been judged, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.
Mark 16:16 The one who believes and is baptized will be saved, but the one who refuses to believe will be condemned.
John 8:24 Thus I said to you that you will die in your sins. For if you do not believe that I am he, you will die in your sins.”
1 John 5:10–13 (The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. The one who does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has testified concerning his Son.) And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. The one who has the Son has the life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may know that you have eternal life.
Yes. It's absolutely incredible anyone can deny so much scripture to hold on to man made doctrinescripture overwhelmingly supports the new birth coming after faith. there is not a single passage they have to support the new birth coming before faith in the gospel message.
and we know 100% that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of Christ ( the gospel ).
this should end the controversy but as we know some are stuck in man made doctrines and make void the word of Christ by their traditions.
Sometimes I just shake my head in disbelief with some of the things I read that people believe. And they never came to that on their own study but by the influence of reformed teachers, preachers , pastors, theologians. No one reading the Bible without those men would believe that nonsense.Yes. It's absolutely incredible anyone can deny so much scripture to hold on to man made doctrine
Yup, exactly right. You do know don't you?
Calvinist doctrine holds man cannot believe, love or serve God
