Pope Francis

There were many predictions that he was the last pope before the end. Are we really in the last days, the generation that will see the Lords return ? Are we even looking for the "signs" of the times ?

Is there a parallel between the days of Noah and our generation ?

Look up for your redemption draweth nigh.

Yes, I had heard those predictions, and more then one of them.

And that there was space on the vatican wall for one more pope and no more. (That would have been Francis')

You ask. "Are we even looking for the "signs" of the times ?" I am. I have been. It is funny that .. or actually sad to think of those that I have said I believe were have to be in the later part of end times and people get very sad. Even those that one would think were solid Christians.

You also asked. "Is there a parallel between the days of Noah and our generation ?" I would counter that with..."Can there be any doubt"

And to your "Look up for your redemption draweth nigh." I say

Maranatha,

Amen,Amen

In the USA, this month is "National Child Abuse Prevention" month.

Its interestingly ironic that this Horrible Pope died, this month.......as He's the Pope who had decided to allow Homosexuals into the Priesthood.

And of course that is allowing Child Molesting (alter boys) and so forth......to basically be welcomed.
Apparently this Pope envisioned the Gay Community as a "big market" for new converts, and was pandering to them all.

So, as He is that Pope, and He died during 'National Child Abuse Prevention" month.....the Irony, is....... maybe more then just irony.

Someone previously posted that He was a Pope who a lot of Catholics were hoping would die.
The Actor Mel Gibson was a loud voice of dissent regarding Pope Francis., as Mel and a lot of Catholics enjoy the "Latin" version of their religion, and this Pope just canceled it.
Im not a Catholic, but i know that as in any cult there are born again believers.....so, for their sake, this Pope's passing was long overdue.

The Latin Mass abolishment was one of many actions against the church he was supposedly representing.
This Pope split the CC in half and those that didn't agree with him - important Bishops and Cardinals - were excommunicated.
Tyrant-like actions.

Tyrant-like actions.

He was a Religious Dictator wearing a costume, including a funny hat.

And now, ........ you have all those Religious Cardinals, scratching at each other's eyes....trying to rise to the top of this Hellish Religion.

Will the next one be different?
Probably worse........however, if he realizes that He has to try to reverse the "Gay Priest"... situation, and that Latin Mass situation....then that will cause a lof of Catholics to appreciate him. (Growing a fan base).
Time will tell.

The CC needs to get back together.
A big question in the church these past few years is:
WHO is the schismatic?? The Pope or the laity !
My opinion?
THE POPE.
This pope was a disaster,,,
I still question why Benedict had to step down...political reasons of course,,,but who knows what.
Maybe the financial situation...
maybe the abuse situation....if that isn't the devil on earth.

Anyway, yes, for me it's very interesting to see what will happen.
It's all over the news, every moment of the day.

As a Baptist, Francis was not my Pope, but I take no joy in his death. I disagreed with his ecumenism, but I think his constant advocacy that we, as Christians, should be kinder to everyone and far more loving in deeds to the vulnerable of the world is a message that Jesus would have approved of. So it may be an unpopular position, but I think the man finished his race well.

What do YOU know about Catholicism.
NOTHING.

Just as a Catholic cannot know about YOUR religion.

But your opinion is your opinion.

And it IS an opinion...not based on any reality.

Please do not reply just as you refuse to reply to my posts on your religion: Calvinism

@civic

Some hear his statements for the poor and it sounds so nice.
Many words sounds nice but divide the church, split the people of God
and cause much grief.

He sent an "ambassador" to China in 2018 and many in the underground church there were prosecuted due to his visit.
He paid off persons that were suing the church for abuse of children.
He put a child abuser in a top position at the Vatican.
A very strange person was his number 2 man...appointed within the past 3 years, approx. found nothing wrong with porn, for instance.

Francis was a horrible Pope that will go down in history as one of the worst....if not THE worst since his teachings touched upon Catholic doctrine...
which, BTW, each Pope takes an oath NOT TO DO....and he did this anyway. Oaths mean nothing to men such as himself.

He appointed 17 Cardinals and increased the number of voting cardinals from 120 to 137...
how will his 17 vote?
He has, in political parlance, stacked the deck...just as some American Pres would like to do with the supreme court.

He invited some South American "Catholics" to the Vatican in 2018 (I believe) and there was a celebration of the Pacha Mama.....
An abomination of desolation,,,in my humble opinion.

He has PUT INTO PRACTICE,,,,the blessing of same sex couples.
He has allowed communion to couple that live together.
He has outlawed the Latin Mass - loved by many Catholics.

He has excommunicated Bishops that did not agree with him.
5 Top Bisho's/Cardinals OF THE WORLD wrote him in 2018 asking for clarification on some of his new policies...
HE NEVER REPLIED....a slap in the face to all Catholics that would have liked an explanation as to why he was changing the church.

Need more?

I'd like to clarify that I am NOT Catholic.
I DO know Catholic theology.
I AM involved with the Catholic church.
I DO attend Mass at times due to where I live - not much other choice.
ALL my friends are Catholic, some of them born again.
I have Catholic priests as friends and I know some stuff other laity may not.
I like theology and so follow the CC also.

Catholics would appreciate that Behold.

Yes, the Current "cult of mary".... according to St Francis's directives..... its like the Democratic party in the USA..

The Dem Party in the USA... looked around in 2017. and realized that about 54"% of the US, is in love with Gay Rights, Transgender ID, Atheism, Hamas, Abortion, Open Borders... Castrated Men playing women's sports, and a devoted Hatred for the Bible.....and they said....>"We've found our Fan Base........we have found our PEOPLE.......lets cater to THEM, because they are just like US and will vote for us if we give them what they want".

So, the recently deceased Pope,........>He looked at the Gay community, that is basically ostracized by The Bible.....in both Testaments.....and He thought .. """"these people will come to the Cat Church if we throw them a bone"""........so, he did.....>He announced that "if you have Homosexual tendencies....(all Gay people have this)....then if you are a MALE, you are not disqualified from being a Catholic Priest... come and Join US"...
And a "SHOUT" went up, inside the Gay world....
Now he's dead, ...and hopefully the next Pope, will reverse this man's carnal pursuits that he has installed inside the "cult of Mary".

What can I say?
I agree !
Except it did the opposite !

The strong churches,,,going forward...will be the ones that hold to Christianity.
This is what the younger generation is looking for.
The ones that are atheist,,,will remain so until they decide otheriwse.
Those that want to become Christian...are looking for solid, bible believing churches.
The CC...with all its incorrect doctrine...used to be one of them.

The direction of this church will depend on the next Pope.
And the excommunicated Bishops,,,which he banished from their church and made them
become HOMELESS just like the homeless he liked talking about...
should be reinstated.
THEY were right...and not HIM.

Who Are the Leading Candidates?

Luis Antonio Tagle (Philippines)

Currently the betting favorite at 3:1 odds, Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, 67, is considered a strong contender to continue Pope Francis's progressive agenda. Tagle, an advocate for inclusion and evangelization, has significant experience leading the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples and was a trusted figure in Francis's inner circle.

"Overall, I think the fact that by my count over 100 of the eligible papal electors were appointed by Francis could have a profound effect on the outcome," said Cristina Traina, a professor at Fordham University. "That is, we may not get a pendulum swing away from Francis' priorities."

Tagle's Asian heritage also makes him a compelling choice, as Catholicism is growing rapidly on the continent, particularly in the Philippines.

Pietro Parolin (Italy)

At 4:1 odds, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, 70, is one of the most experienced Vatican officials. In his role as the Vatican's Secretary of State since 2013, he has played a major part in diplomatic affairs, including sensitive negotiations with China and Middle Eastern governments.

Parolin is seen as a moderate theological candidate, someone who could provide stability while still maintaining some of Francis's reforms. His deep ties to Vatican bureaucracy make him a strong contender for those who favor continuity.

Peter Turkson (Ghana)

Currently at 5:1 odds in betting markets, Cardinal Peter Turkson, 76, is a well-known figure in the Church's social justice circles. As former head of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, Turkson has been vocal on issues such as climate change, poverty and economic justice.

Turkson's election would mark a historic moment as the first African pope in centuries. The most recent African pontiff was Pope Gelasius, who served from 492 to 496 AD. Born in Rome to African parents, Gelasius was known for his extensive theological writings and strong advocacy for charity and justice for the poor.

Peter Erdő (Hungary)

A leading conservative candidate, Cardinal Peter Erdő, 72, is currently at 6:1 odds. A respected canon law scholar, Erdő has been a strong advocate for traditional Catholic teachings and doctrine. He previously served as head of the Council of European Bishops' Conferences and has emphasized theological orthodoxy.

For those seeking a return to the conservatism of John Paul II and Benedict XVI, Erdő would represent a major shift away from Francis's approach.

Angelo Scola (Italy)

At 8:1, Cardinal Angelo Scola, 82, is a long-standing papal contender. He was among the favorites in the 2013 conclave that ultimately elected Pope Francis. Scola, a former Archbishop of Milan, has deep theological roots and appeals to those who support a more centralized and hierarchical Church.
