Inspiration?

I believe there is a matter of faith here

Would God not want a record of his truth to exist?

I cannot see that He would not.

Which record might that be? Those that insist that God had "preserved" their choice have the burden of establishing such. (Not saying you're doing this. Just dealing with the point)

I once believed in Divine Preservation down to the English "jot and tittle" but I soon realized that couldn't possibly be accurate.

Inspiration is a moment in time giving. The word of God "came", not by the will of men but of God to those who heard those words.

There is literal enunciated by God (dictation) or men were inspired by God in their own words. Translation fall in the category of "words of men". Where they accurately carry forth the meaning of what God "gave".... they can rightfully be said to carry a derivative form of inspiration. However, we can't ignore the fact that word choices come from translators.

Translators have a difficult task. Many times English doesn't completely carry forth the "connotations" given by God through His words. Translators get "part of the way there" and times they fail completely.

I decided a long time ago to know this information myself and not rely upon others to dictate it to me.

Why is my pain unending and my wound grievous and incurable? You are to me like a deceptive brook, like a spring that fails. (Jeremiah 15:18)

“’How can you say, “We are wise, for we have the law of the LORD,” when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely? (Jeremiah 8:8)

Even Jeremiah was told by God that the law was mishandled by those entrusted to copy it. Even Jeremiah thought God was deceptive in nature.

I can agree with you here. Scribes have caused issues. It is why we must study to identify where they made the mistakes. Often times, the mistake is obvious since there are multiple sources whereby we can identify the issues.

English does not even enter into the picture as the scriptures were not written in english

It the greek, Hebrew, Aramaic which we do our best to translate

Right now we do not know what we are, but when we see Him, we will know as we are known.

This is illustrating that revelation cannot be full at this time, far more is to come through becoming what God has in store.

The fullness of revelation is found in Christ. We literally live this revelation in the Gospel preached in our lives with our journey with Christ on full display.

To some, the Scriptures feed their egos.

I've said for many years that people often read of the life of David and greatly desire to be kings when all God often wants is a simply life of faith. You don't have to do "big things" for God. Do what Abraham did while no one was looking............ (God was/is)

Teach your children. Be a person of faith. Conquer this life that lays before you. Be strong and confident in God's presence in your life.

People search the Scriptures looking for themselves when the Scriptures are given that we might seek God. We can only know ourselves through knowing Him. After all, we will be conformed into the image of His Son.

I learned this through the Scriptures.

Rom 8:29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

In the book of Jeremiah, there is a scene where the public official would read the teachings of Jeremiah and cut a piece of the letter with a scribal pen and then toss the cut out piece into the fire.

This was a common attitude prior to the captivity. When they returned from captivity, the name of God and the understanding of which vowels to use was lost. The scriptures we have now are based on the preference determined by the temple, but they didn't know either.

By the time Jesus was born, only the Father who taught Jesus remembered what was originally said.
