Does salvation occur in a moment or over a period of time?

@TedT .

Stop guessing.

Im not Pentecostal, and im not Charismatic.
Hold it. What gives here? You told me on your other thread the Devil thread that I should be telling you what church I go to and if not that'd be a sign that I'm ashamed and you're telling a poster here to Stop guessing what you are? So then actually....What Are You? If you're going to marginalize others for not being willing to tell you so then what about YOU? I mean I don't necessarily care what church you go to and I see it's your right not to reveal such and to tell the other poster Stop Guessing.....but why don't you grant others the same liberty without making light of them? Sorry Behold I agree with many things you say when it comes to doctrine but you're inconsistent in how you deliver them. No offence but might be something you should consider working a little harder on?

The reason we need to know how he did it and how salvation works is so we can share with others. A gentleman told me yesterday He's one of the members of our home group that we should always carry the gospel in our hearts.

Do I understand that but even if I didn't I would be so thankful and grateful to Jesus for saving me.

I know it was the blood,
I know it was the blood,
I know it was the blood for me.

One day when I was lost
He died upon the cross.
I know it was the blood for me.
It was the blood for me too.

I'll take all the guesswork out of what I am... I'm just your plain everyday ordinary Jesus Freak. Now what will people think when they hear that I'm a Jesus Freak? I was reminded of that song yesterday when we were welcoming our new member Toby.

@Wilber , you posted Beautiful Lyrics, and oh so true.

also = "what can wash away my sin"..

Water Baptism?
Confessing sin?
Soul Sleep ?
Making yourself a eunuch ?
Getting the Stigmata?
Burning 1000 candles for Mother Mary?
Eating some chicken broth?
Buying a new Toyota?
Watching "Game of Thrones"?

A.) "without the shedding of Blood, there is NO FORGIVENESS"..

See the "Blood of Jesus for the final answer"..

Nice video. Nothing but the blood. One day when I was lost. He died on the cross. I know it was the blood for me.

“… without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.” (Hebrews 9:22)

The teaching of the Bible, in both the Old and New Testaments, is very clear regarding God’s forgiveness of man’s sin. Only a perfect blood sacrifice would satisfy the Father’s requirement of holiness. Throughout the Old Testament much is told about the blood atonements that the priests had to make on behalf of their people (Exodus 30:10; Leviticus 17:11). But the blood of bulls and goats could never satisfy God’s justice for man’s past, present and future sin. Only the shedding of divine blood would do. The Father’s gift of salvation to man required His Son’s life blood. Now when God looks at us, He sees Christ’s shed blood and declares us righteous for Jesus’ sake. Our acceptance with God the Father rests completely upon the merits of the blood of Jesus Christ.
Not all the blood of beasts on Jewish altars slain
Could give the guilty conscience peace, or wash away the stain.
But Christ, the heav’nly Lamb, takes all our sins away;
A sacrifice of nobler name and richer blood than they.
—Isaac Watts
Robert Lowry was a popular Baptist pastor in various churches throughout the East. In later life he became interested in writing and publishing gospel songs. Today he is best remembered for his many contributions to our hymnal with songs such as “Nothing But the Blood,” published in 1876. Though simply stated both textually and musically (a five note melodic range and just two chords), this gospel song has had an important place in the church’s ministry in teaching both young and old the absolute necessity of trusting implicitly in the precious blood of Christ for this life and for eternity.
What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus; what can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
For my pardon this I see—nothing but the blood of Jesus; for my cleansing, this my plea—nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Nothing can for sin atone—nothing but the blood of Jesus; naught of good that I have done—nothing but the blood of Jesus.
This is all my hope and peace—nothing but the blood of Jesus; this is all my righteousness—nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Refrain: Oh! precious is the flow that makes me white as snow; no other fount I know, nothing but the blood of Jesus.

For Today: Isaiah 1:18; Zechariah 13:1; Romans 3:24, 25; Revelation 12:11
Recognize anew your total dependence on Christ’s shed blood. Thank Him with these musical lines—

Stop guessing.

Im not Pentecostal, and im not Charismatic.
Never said you were...you contend for charismatic thought whether you know it or not and whether you worship in a Pentecostal, charismatic church or method or not...

Now instead of excoriating me, why don't you answer my questions about how Heb 12:5-11 fits into your understanding of chap 2? Why do you keep avoiding this exercise?

And also.... being chastened is not how you solve addiction or any chronic "flesh" issue.
Where did you get that idea?
From Hebrews 12:5-11 as I've repeated many times....if you disagree, share what you think these word mean, ok?

But had you actually read Hebrews, then you would have noted that in Hebrews 2, Paul is teaching that the born again are sanctified, already.

Take a look at verse 11.
Berean Standard Bible
Heb 2:11 For both the One who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers.

So.....? Slinging verses about without providing your interetation is frowned upon, no?

You say: sanctified, already? Where and if so, why the suffering that is equal to being flogged that often killed the victim?

You seem to reject HIS words about HOW we are sanctified because of WHO sanctifies us.

And if you can count, then you'll note that Paul teaches about Sanctification of ALL Believers, 10 verses before he talks about "chastening".
Now where are you? The verses I used and quoted are Heb 12:5-11, and there are no 10 verses before that in chapter 12 unless you are counting the last 5 verses of chapter 11..???

Could you be a bit more exact for me please?

But to do that you have to use a real BIBLE, and not all of them qualify.
I usually quote which version I am using and I like to use the Berean Standard Bible so why take random pot shots at my Bible of choice? If you are obliquely referring to a different version, the real bible you want it laud, spit it out clearly, ok? Don't be shy...
