Do Dogs Go to Heaven?

The Bible may not mention dogs specifically, but it does provide glimpses into a future where animals are present.

As mentioned earlier, Isaiah’s prophecy of the peaceable Kingdom includes animals living alongside humans in harmony.

Similarly, Revelation 5:13 says, “And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying, ‘To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!’” (ESV).

This verse suggests that all creatures, both human and animal, will give glory to God.

Do dogs go to heaven?
I don't know about your dog, but my Tulio did 😇. And I'll gladly pay for trip to visit him and verify that for those who dispute that ;). It may be that only the cool dogs that get to go, though, because I'm not so sure about some of the other mutts I've owned 😲.

God loves animals so much that He has them killed, burnt on the alters of sacrifice. What did the innocent animals do that cannot sin do to deserve such treatment ? That does not sound much like God loves animals. It sounds just the opposite- unloving, unkind.

If you tried sacrificing your pet for your childs or your sin in this country you would be thrown in jail for animal abuse.
While true, God also sacrificed His own Son for us. And Jesus agreed to that torturous sacrifice.

True on both counts.

And that's pretty much the sum of what ANYBODY knows. I'd appreciate it if there were Banjos in Heaven.
I bet you have heard this before.

It's hard to find a banjo player up in heaven
There's some things that even Jesus won't forgive

Historical note: Banjos, AND Violins shared the same nickname: The "Devil's walking Stick"

Same Here, They taught me how to love:love:

Or you taught them how to love you.....

Not saying I'm picking sides in this relationship.....

I love my dogs. They are entirely different from one another. Pets/Animals reflect their owners at times. At times they don't. They have an independent mind themselves.

God is teaching us through our pets to understand ourselves. It isn't "fun" try to train an independent mind to agree with you.

I know you are speaking of dogs.... but that also applies to people in forums such as these.

I miss every one of the dogs I had. And I hope God will grant them to be in heaven or on the new earth.

Some more loving then others. Each with their own personality. Each with the ability to smile. Each with the ability to cry.
Some very consoling when you would be sad.And yes, even often some would be in mourning for a lost canine friend, or person.

Our lives are endless filled with reminders of our own independence. Just when I think I'm getting an handle on my own, life reminds me I'm often at its mercy... :)

That is why prayer is important.

We know right now there is music in heaven so I do see why not other stringed instruments besides the harp :)
Music as an art form has always connected deeply with people of all cultures and languages throughout human history. Making melodies with voices and instruments has been a key part of the expression of man’s experiences. When words fail us, and the circumstances of our physical lives confine us, music is an outlet for the hopes and dreams, passions and desires, the tension and confusion, and even the transformation taking place within us.

Music connects with us on a level nothing else does, and for that reason, people have always recognized a divine power and spirituality to music.

Yet no matter how societies around the world relate to music, God’s people should realize they have a special claim on the art of song. The power of great music lies in the power of the gospel story, of God calling his people home. As a Gospel Coalition writer says, “If you believe in God, you have a framework for enjoying music that is more satisfying to heart and mind, and more authentic to the actual experience of that enjoyment.”

So while the world at large may use music in their search for meaning, for expression, or simply pleasure and distraction, the Bible reveals a much deeper, ancient, and powerful purpose at work when followers of Christ lift their voices.

Sigh, Had a lot of dogs over the years.

We used to breed toy and mini poodles and there is nothing so heart wrenching to have your pet give birth to one little pup and the pup was not healthy and she died. To see tears in a mama dog I will never forget.

Then since the mid 1970s watched dogs in the house of medium sized... Shelties and Cockers the largest.. and that went on until 2025. I could not begin to count those that touched our lives.

I love them all. big or small. and now have none because mom died last October and before that our last had to be put down.

I volunteer to watch any up in heaven if the need be.

I'm tearing up just reading your post. I lost a litter to parvo once. I have two rescue dogs now. Lost two in 2024 that I had for 13 years, they had a good life. But I'm still not over it, think of them everyday.
