Treasures

Unfortunately, many people don't appreciate how the Old Testament and the
New Testament fit together. Too many Christians accept half an inheritance by
being content to embrace only the "new." On the flip side, Jews have an
incomplete picture when they embrace only the "old." We must not settle for
either when both are essential to experience our full inheritance in the Kingdom
and fully understand Messiah.

In Matthew 13:52, Jesus referred to "old" and "new" treasures to draw an analogy
between not only two Testaments but also the Jews and Gentiles. Both are God's
priceless possessions, neither more nor less valuable than the other. However,
together, their value increases dramatically. Who would neglect old treasures
just because new treasures exist?
