To Rebel, or not to Rebel, that is the Question

If God has commanded something and you were to interpret a verse as teaching that we should rebel against God's command, then which should you do?:

1.) Think servant of God do not teach us to rebel against Him and conclude that your interpretation must be incorrect because it was written by a servant of God.

2.) Think that it doesn't make any sense for a servant of God to teach us to rebel against Him, but that your interpretation is correct, so you should therefore think that the verse was written by an enemy of God.

3.) Think that it makes perfect sense for a servant of God to teach us to rebel against Him, that your interpretation is correct, and therefore think that it is a good idea to use that verse to promote rebellion against God.

You have the Holy Spirit and he will lead you into all truth. You may have a small group leader or just a small group itself that you could discuss it with. You can also discuss it with your pastor or Elders in the church.

It's always good to have someone you're accountable to. Two heads are always better than one.

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

The third strand could be the Holy Spirit, He'll get John the right track.

Indeed, the Holy Spirit will lead us in all truth, the Holy Spirit will lead us to obey God's law (Ezekiel 36:26-27), God's law is truth (Psalms 119:142), so that is how we can know that a verse speaking against obeying it is opposed to the truth, which leaves options 1 and 2 open, which warrants further investigation such as discussing with your community what should be understood as the correct interpretation. Do you agree that interpreting a verse as teaching to rebel against God's command is either incorrect or if it is correct, then we should reject the truth of that verse?

In my opinion if I interpreted a verse that was teaching me to rebel against God's command I would have to be Interpreting it wrong. End of story, there couldn't be any truth there only my own misunderstanding. I think the word of God is infallible so it would have to be my interpretation That was incorrect.

But you know how it goes on these forums once we have our mind made up on some Doctrine we'll find a way to make the scripture fit our understanding of that Doctrine. Even if that requires some scripture bending.

I'm much rather be a Bible student than a Bible know it all any day.

When you get up pray and put your armor on. Your helmet of salvation and listen to the holy spirit throughout the day. If you feel that you're interpreting versus incorrectly and they're making you disobey God your probably under satanic attack. Satan would love to make you Ineffective for the kingdom of God. Don't drink the Kool-Aid.
