The Role of the Holy Spirit in Our Daily Lives

How do we experience His presence in our daily lives? Do we need the Holy Spirit? Let me assure you, we need the Holy Spirit in our lives just as much as we need a relationship with our heavenly Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.

7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
John 16:7-14

The Holy Spirit is part of the holy Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We need Him just as much as we need Father and Son. In fact, the Holy Spirit makes possible your ongoing Christian life and enables us both to experience Christ and to have a relationship with the Father. The Holy Spirit enables us to have a sense of victory in your Christian walk. We need Him at work in us and through us if we are to fulfill our earthly destiny in Christ and become the person that the Father created us to be.

not saying that you're right or wrong, we do need the Holy Spirit who is our comfort and guide, and helper in these days and times. but ... not for argument, 101G believes that the Holy Spirit is JESUS, who holds these titles "Father", and "Son", in "TIME", "PLACE", "ORDER" and "RANK" as only one person who is the true and Living God.

be blessed.

@Fred, who is sad. ...... Cheer up, and wake up for LIGHT has come. Hosea 4:6 "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children."

We all need an abiding walk with God. And that can happen because of His Holy Spirit in us. The way we walk with Him is to stay in close contact by communicating through prayer. We must talk to Him. But He also wants to talk to us. And that, too, happens by His Holy Spirit in us.

There are so many reasons we need to hear from God each day, but some of the main ones are so that we can make right decisions, live the way He wants us to, and stay on the path He has for us. In order to do all that, we have to draw near to Him. That means not only taking time to speak to Him, but also to listen to whatever He wants to tell us personally.

God wants to do things in your life that cannot happen without the power of His Holy Spirit guiding you, and you following His leading. These prayers—which come from the book Lead Me, Holy Spirit—will help you to establish a life of ongoing prayer, and also keep you mindful that God wants you to hear His voice as He speaks to your heart about the specifics of your life.

There seems to be much confusion concerning the Comforter...

The spirit that all Christians have was first called the comforter by Jesus. It helps us if we are plugged into walking by the spirit.

John 14:16-17
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Almost every English version translates John 14:17 similarly to “even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him.” Translators capitalize “Spirit” and use “he” and “him” because of their theology. The Greek word “spirit” is neuter and the text could also be translated as “the spirit of truth” and paired with “which” and “it.” The New American Bible reads “which the world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor knows it.”

In Eph 1:15 the Holy Spirit is the down payment on our inheritance, which is applied toward our redemption as God’s own people, resulting in the honor of God’s glory.

This helps us to know God. We are given the mind of Christ. This gives us hope and strength for the greater glory we will come to know. It is comfort within us. It is assurance of God's work in us, giving joy from the depth of us. It is also the promise from the inner being of us with God's Spirit that would flow out from us and bring blessing to others.

This is indeed the best statement you ever made. That it is all about you. No Christ, no Comforter that is mentioned by Jesus referring to the spirit. Nope, it's all about you...

Really? God's love and being within us does not have anything to do with God in your estimation? That is horrific and unbiblical doctrine on your part.
I hardly find such distance from God and such horrific doctrine as unexpected of unitarians. It shows further than you do not recognize that Christ Jesus sent the Comforter, whom is shown to be Holy Spirit. Ughhh..
