The Remnant

Rom 11:5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

Notice from Romans 11:5 that the remnant is established upon grace

Grace. Wonderful grace. The Calvinist insists that God can't do anything without THEM. That they are irrevocably chosen for whatever that God wants from them. However. These same people simply are using "GRACE" as "crutch" to do as they please.

They are wrong. We know they are wrong from the Scriptures. Example. God said these words to Elijah.

1Ki 19:18 I still have left in Israel seven thousand followers who have not bowed their knees to Baal or kissed the images of him.”

The Calvinist simply insists that such words actually confirm what they're saying. That they are vital to God. Elect. Purposed. Chosen.

However, on the contrary, these words are an indication that God had 7000 replacements available for Elijah.

God doesn't need us. If God decides to do something ALL ON HIS OWN...... then there is no problem with God endlessly creating "servants". The Scriptures say just this.

Example

Luk 3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

From stones... God can create a miracle. God doesn't need anyone.

Again.... Jesus reminds those who claimed to be "Chosen".

Do you think you're CHOSEN for praise?

Luk 19:39 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
Luk 19:40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

Our God can do anything... Including "replacing YOU and I". So much for how Calvinists treat "chosen"......

Bump.... No takers?
Its a giant dill pickle for some since Gods chosen/elect people were the entire nation of Israel, all the Jews. Yet we know most of them perished in unbelief and rebellion against God. So being elect/chosen has nothing to do with ones salvation- they must equivocate to make them one in the same when they are not. Also judas an elect/chosen sheep is another stumbling block for them in the N.T. Jesus sent him along with the others as sheep among wolves in Matthew 10:11. He performed the exact same miracles by the exact same Holy Spirit. :) Romans 9-11 actually oppose calvinism when read in its entire context. They must rip out and isolate a verse from the context to make their doctrine sound appealing to others.

hope this helps !!!
